"Validation."

Social media tends to control our lives sometimes without even knowing it. It isn't until we like a photo or see something online that we wish we could look like and be someone else. Most times people find themselves wishing for some sort of miracle transformation after seeing how a model is always labeled as perfect online. And then the idea of looking like some sort of model is the perfection people start striving for in their own appearances. Everyone wants to be the perfect model, even if it did mean going through desperate means to get there. People go through so many awful things just desperately trying to rid themselves of the body they didn't think had been labeled as the perfect body in this society. Parents even sometimes instill in their child's mind that no one would love them unless they started to work on getting the defined "perfect body." Maybe the world just needs to stop labeling a certain group as perfect and instead look at everyone as perfectly made. Society shouldn't be pressuring young adults that they need to be skinny to be wanted, nor should society say that certain people need to be curvier to be loved by someone. No one should say that the slender girl needs to eat a sandwich, or that the curvier girl needs to put one down. Here's a bit of truth for some, we post photos of ourselves online for validation. We want people to tell us we're beautiful, and look perfect even if we know they could go behind our backs and start speaking trash about us. Now here's a whole truth: stretch marks, curves, tall and slender, all is beautiful. If you have curves you should never be afraid to show it and if you are a tall and slender you should walk around with pride. Social media has poisoned our minds with the idea of perfect when in reality nobody can be perfect. Instead we can look in our mirrors and smile, we can look deep within ourselves and love ourselves. No matter how perfect changes in the eyes of society, who you are now on the inside and who you'll be in the future will stay the same. Let's teach society not to judge people based on their bodies and appearances but instead based on people's minds and how they decide to work them. Maybe then people would stop reading people only by their cover and instead dig deeper to read in between the beautifully written lines.
