They see the way her body moves that glare in her eyes when the light hits them just right the way her teeth sparkle when she laughs and they all know she is alone. The way she struts around with that carefree walk when her mind holds every fearful thought. But she can't let anyone know that, that ruins the thrill she gets from people thinking she doesn't understand, that she doesn't hear, that she doesn't see, that she doesn't perceive anything! Oh but she knows she sees, hears, and feels it all! The pain that this girl has felt would be unbearable by most, but she copes.


She just hopes that there is something better for her in the distant future but it feels so far away. Will she make it that long?, is there anything better?, what is this "love" she has been looking for?, would she even know it if she saw it? She doesn't know. Maybe one day she will but until then, she is trapped in the darkness of today and the dullness of tomorrow, hoping that there's a candle shinning bright in the future...she's hoping.
