Moon In My Room

i believed in you.

you gave me hope,

that this could be real.

you were the moon,

my light in the darkest places.

should've knew,

that reaching for stars

would only leave me lost

floating around in your solar system.

everlasting, cold, dark space

resembled my heart

after you were done with it.

i tried to make myself believe

that you only shined for me

but, you weren't mine

nor would you ever be.

it ripped me to shreds

knowing you would always radiate,

shinning upon me

and i'd never be enough for you

that i'd merely be a sprinkle of asteroid dust

and you'd be as big as the moon

so i gaze at you from the solidarity of my room
