DISCUSSING OD SOURCE

One thing that I have found to be true when attempting to discuss anything spiritual or anything about "God/Source" is that you first must come to an understanding of who or what God is to the person you are talking to. Since I am an Ordained Interfaith Universal Minister and Ordained Universal Philosopher, I have an deep interest in ALL faith and spiritual systems and beliefs. I want to know why people believe what they believe. My Ordination accepts Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, and even Agnostics, and Atheists. We believe in unity without uniformity. We believe in one Source of all things. And we respect peoples beliefs no matter how different they are ... as long as they do not present harm and suffering to all living creatures.

Because if you don't understand their belief in who or what God is, then there is nowhere else to go with any further discussion. If you truly wish to share thoughts about creation vs. evolution, or what it means to believe in a higher power, you really need to understand how to play the game.

If I know nothing about football, it would be silly to talk with me about statistics and team performances. The first place to start, would be to ask me what I think about football. What is it? Why do people like it? What purpose does it serve? It there a common goal? Does it make life better? I know it's sounds fundamental and elementary, but far too many times people argue over things they have different views about without first finding out what the views are to begin with.

Just a thought ...
