Jada Bonner

Dove

I pulled back to punch the wall and she put her hand around my hand

Freeze frame of my weakest moment when she was there to help me stand

My petals were ready to crumble her water took me by the stem

Drowning in frustration she managed to remain my loyal friend.

At 2:27 I got a call I couldn't replace

She cried for my strength but I was too far away

Imagining what it would've been like if I got there on time

Freeze frame of my weakest moment when I lost my life line.

Never got the chance to say I love her, or say I need you to her face

Her house burned down and her and her family couldn't escape

Her last breaths were painful, that's something I'll never forget,

I'll never find another friend like her, and that's something i'll always regret.

She's with me everyday, and reminds me she's still here.

Now when I reach back to punch the wall, I remember her in tears

And how she hated when I did that

Instead of asking for a hug

Rest in peace to my angel,

Tattooed as a dove.
