The Hunger Games

Chapter 7:

All the tributes are in me and Peeta’s penthouse today. Tonight is the chariot ride, and me and Peeta planed something amazing. Similar to the normal fire outfits, that Cinna created for me and Peeta, we added the fire, but in different colors. The different colors represented the different tributes or people who died fighting with the rebellion.

All the tributes met, talked to each other, and became friends. Peeta walked by putting makeup on the girls while I helped them get dressed, and did their hair.

District one’s fire outfit, had gold fire in honor of Cinna; My stylist in two of my games, who got killed by peacekeepers trying to throw me off before the games. District two has light blue in honor of Prim,my sister. District three had black fire in honor of Boggs, the commander under the traitor,Alma Coin. Boggs turned good, but later died. District four has yellow fire in honor of Leeg 1 and Leeg 2. They were twins who died helping me in the 76th games. District 5 has gray fire in honor of Mags. Mags was an 80 woman who ran into poisonous fog, so Finnick could carry an injured Peeta instead of her. District six has red fire in honor of Wiress. Wiress, also known as Nuts, died in the 75th hunger games slightly after she told us the arena was shaped like a clock. District seven has orange fire to honor Seeder one of Hamitch‘ s friends who died in the 75th games. District eight has silver fire in honor of Chaff. Chaff is another one of Hamitch’s friends who also died in the 75th games. District nine has rose gold fire in honor of Thresh. Thresh saved my life and spared me, but later died in the 74th games. District ten has brown fire in honor of Messalla. Messalla was Pollux’s brother who died because of mutts in the 76th Games. District 11 has green fire in honor of Rue. Rue was my best friend, and only ally before Peeta. She died helping me in the 74th hunger games, and now her sister got reaped. Me and Peeta are district twelve. I would normally want to honor my sister, Rue,or Cinna. Me and Peeta decided to have teal fire in honor of Finnick. I picked Finnick instead of the others because of his kindness to go into battle with a new wife and a new son. Finnick also saved my life and Peeta’s several times in both games. Finnick died because of mutts, and- and there was nothing I could do to help him.

All the tributes hair, makeup, and outfits were done. We had about an hour before it was time for the chariot ride.

Ombré one of the tributes asked this question”So you and Peeta how long have you been together for?”

Peeta looked at me with a playful smirk and said,”Yeah, Katniss how long?”

I wasn’t sure what to say. I mean we had to pretend to be star crossed lovers in the games to survive, and get sponsors.

“Ummm....” I say.” Depends on how long Peeta thought we were.”

He gives me a smirk, and says,” Since the interview with Caesar. If that’s ok with her?”

“Sure” I said, slightly blushing.” Now come on. We need to get you all to your chariots.”
