The Island of Bermuda by Aqsa 🗾

There were 8 cousins just lying around doing nothing till one of the cousins, the smallest of course had an idea, it was Zaara. "There's this place where I've always wanted to go" she says, "where" Maryam the oldest cousin asks. "To Bermuda" Zaara says, everyone silences except Adil the second youngest, who is cheering. "Zaara, I don't think we can go there" Ameena her older sister says. "Nuh-uh" Shaan her older brother says shaking his head furiously. "Zaara, do you even know what Bermuda is?" Sumer and Saba the second oldest cousins and sisters of Maryam ask. They are both twins. "Yeah it's dangerous" Aqsa adds, she is Adil's older sister, "I'm telling mom" Zaara says sticking her tongue out at all of them, Zaara's mom comes in and claps her hands to get everyone's attention. "Guys we are going on a cruise, just uncles and aunts for a month, you have to take the little ones where they want to go" she says. "But aunt..." "Nope, Maryam you are the oldest I trust you I'm going to be disappointed if the younger ones aren't happy when we come back" Zaara's mom says cutting Maryam off. That night everyone is stressed, what kind of mess were they getting into? Bermuda? No one has made it back. In the morning the cousins start packing for Bermuda. No one talks except Zaara and Adil who are chatting away happily. In an hour everyone is ready, the cousins and the adults part ways. The adults head to an airport in a rental van and the cousins head to their private jet. Ameena and the twins talk in hushed whispers. While Aqsa and Shaan and whisper to Maryam, who just sighs. Zaara and Adil are playing tic tac toe on Adil's iPad. It would take a few days to get to Bermuda, poor pilot would have to sit there in the plane for a month waiting for their return. Maryam reached for her phone and made a quick call. Aqsa grabbed her video camera and gathered everyone over to say their last words, Ameena started. "To friends, to family" "we are traveling to Bermuda courtesy of Zaara" Shaan says, "and Adil" Aqsa adds, "we most likely won't make it back" Sumer says. "But we will make it back alive" Saba says, "however dark the forest" Aqsa starts, "or how squishy the mud" Shaan finishes. "We will make it alive!' Everyone yells. Aqsa shuts off the tape. Zaara and Adil fall asleep. The rest of them just shudder in a corner, Maryam is texting her friends and once in a while, taking pictures. Maryam takes out a pouch filled with one million dollars in it. "Aunt gave us money to spend" Maryam says quietly, Aqsa and Shaan sip drinks from the minibar. Ameena, Saba, and Sumer look up, "how much?" Saba asks, "one million" Maryam says, Aqsa and Shaan almost spit there drinks out. "Holy cow" Aqsa says, "yeah that's a lot." Shaan agrees. The pilot comes into the room, "who's driving?" Maryam asks, "auto pilot" the pilot says. "But I need your help I can't steer the plane by myself I need help" the pilot says looking ashamed, "here me and Shaan can help" Aqsa volunteers. Shaan and Aqsa stand up and go to the room where the pilot is in. They both help steer around a huge island, suddenly the plane starts shaking. "We're experiencing a little turbulence so buckle your seat belts" Shaan and Aqsa say. Maryam does Adil and Zaara's because they are still sleeping. The plane shook, so Maryam had to make sure that Adil and Zaara didn't sliding in their seats. The twins peered out the window and their jaws dropped, "it's beautiful" they say together. "Huh?" Ameena says looking over her shoulder, "wow" she breathes in surprise. Maryam looks over her shoulder to see the ocean all in order all the waves swaying and the sun reflecting on the ocean to make it sparkling. Maryam pulled out her phone and took a quick picture. She admired the photo for a full minute before the moment faded and the whole plane shook with the rumble of thunder. "Aaah, we are heading into a storm, pilot guy we are leaving have fun!" Shaan says. Aqsa came out a moment later her eyes red, "that was tiring" she says as she collapses into a seat. Aqsa looks out the window and there is all black skies the ocean is crashing fiercley. "Guys huddle up" Maryam says, so everyone start siting beside Maryam, Adil and Zaara. They silently prayed. The plane suddenly shook and the kids almost turned upside down if they hadn't had buckled their seat belts. Shaan suddenly barfed in a bag (luckily) Maryam patted his back. Suddenly a big blast of water hit the window, "just hang in there, it'll be all over soon" the pilot's voice crackled over the speaker phone. "I'm scared Maween" Shaan says, "it'll be all over soon Shaan it'll be over soon" Maryam says trying to be as soothing as ever. The plane shook, all their drinks tipped over, everything was so scary. Aqsa peeked out the window and almost lost her lunch. It was as dark as dark could get, yellow streaks of lighting lighted up the sky. Everyone was so scared. Aqsa finally peeks out the window and the storm is dissolving as quickly as it started. Everyone sat in silence not daring to say a word. "Well that was terrifying" Shaan says breaking the silence. "Yeah, I just researched that, that storm was one that we crossed in order to get to the scary place of Bermuda" Saba says looking up from her phone. "Wozer" Sumer says looking at Aqsa,Aqsa just shrugs as she opens her book about the 'One and Only Bermuda' she is suddenly so intrigued by it she doesn't even hear the small boom of thunder. Shaan still looks a little scared "it's the aftermath" Maryam says quietly. In 2 hours the pilot sets the plane in landing and everyone is awake now. "Hurrah! We made it to Bermuda!" The younger ones cheer, everyone else loudly groans. The pilot carries their luggage to an old hotel and sets it in a large room, the ground is very dry and the grass is very pale looking. The trees are bent over in such a way it almost looks like they're not alive anymore. The hotel on the other hand is a nut case, it's walls are covered in moss and weeds, inside it smells really bad. So bad that Aqsa had to spray her Taylor Swift perfume 3 times! Still even with the lavender scent it still smelled but at least not that bad! "Nasty! What happened here Ameena?" Zaara asks curiously as she wanders through their broken down room. "Something bad, I mean something bad in a good way" Ameena says quickly not wanting to scare her sister. Aqsa heads outside and comes back within an hour. She starts building bunk beds for all of them. She finally finishes and also makes the pilot a bed. Maryam warms up frozen pizza in the microwave Aqsa built and they all eat silently. "How cool it is to bwe in bwermuda" Zaara says with her mouth full no one answers. Aqsa is watching pretty little liars on her phone when suddenly the lights flicker on and off. No one says a word but just stare at each other wide eyed. Maryam reluctantly stands up the twins behind her as they make their way to the pilots room, "did the lights just flicker" Saba asks, "not to worry girls I just was turning the power on" the pilot says smiling weakly. They return to their room and tell everyone it was only the pilot. Everyone let's out a sigh of relief and returns to eating their pizza but there was no appetite now so they just sticked to their gadgets. Luckily there was wifi. Zaara and Adil crash first so Maryam sets them in their bunk beds gently. She puts blankets on them, everyone else is doing their own thing, "Guys why don't we play a game" Maryam suggests but everyone shakes their head and looks at their gadgets. At night time Aqsa finds 5 outlets and they charge their gadgets. "Yawnnnn" Shaan yawns loudly causing everyone to laugh he turns scarlet and gets ready to go to sleep. The night is filled with creaks and noises that make everyone scared and no one can sleep except the little ones. Aqsa just shudders and tries to fall asleep the others do the same. Eventually all the cousins decide to watch a movie on Maryam's laptop. They watch Pacifier with Vin diesel. They all fall asleep in an upright position a scream jolts them out of their sleep, the person screams again, Maryam gets up and tells everyone to stay where they are.
