Vigil for a Port once a baby—run into toddlerhood
middle childhood came and went
she traded goods
faster and faster
At this late date she well experienced
an entire world at her doorstep
government, councillors, labourers,
serve her day and night
In her season of prime beauty
everyone wants something of her
owned, operated and overrun
like a carousel of overloaded cargo
Worn yet newly and preciously
deserved of our attention
her scent entices men on earth
they line up happy to sell their souls
Vigil for a Port once a baby—child into adolescence
herself open like a lily loaded in full bloom
It is her unbolted season
She consents adult to adult
Vigil at PMV,
Vancouver, BC
