Beauty isn't in my struggle, it's in the strength that gets me through my trials, which are many. Is my heart truly longing to find peace? Why does it still allow sin to enter?

REMINDER: I don't prevail, God prevails. I am at His mercy. If I say I believe it is God who fights, I must also say I believe it is God who prevails. And in that will my faith be kindled and set. I cannot prevail over death or sin, but only through Jesus Christ are death and sin defeated and made idol at my door. I will show you all the times I have been failed by my own reason and actions when I hoped and expected victory.

Where these things seep into our lives, lies, deceit, lust, covetousness, idleness, false accusers, contentions, idols, doubt, misery, depression, neglect, pride, fear, broken hearts, coping with defeat, confusion, in every instance I can rest in that if it is God who fights, it is God who prevails. I succeed by His correction. I am made whole by His perfection.

If we're fighting a war it might be sensible to ask God how to fight or to wait for His instruction.

But in our spiritual battles we have to ask Him to fight for us. But how can we see victory if we don't have a growing faith? How can we have faith if we don't trust? Who CAN we trust?

But I cannot expect to see my own fighting prevail for me. That fight is in vain.
