Peter and Leon

Chapter 20

Epilogue. 5 Years later…

Leon looked down at the plump infant in his arms, wrapped up tightly in its blanket burrito. His eyes were closed tightly, although the infant had Peter’s dark brown eyes, and the shape of his nose. “He’s perfect” Leon declared, not that he’d have answered any other way.

“Of course he is. I spent nine months growing him” Peter replied, he sat comfortably in bed, the blanket over his belly. Leaning back onto a pile of pillows.

“Yes you did” Leon smiled as he sat down on the bed. He reached out and squeezed Peter’s hand. “I’m so proud of you.”

“Thank you” Peter smiled gently.

“Are you up for visitors?” Leon asked, “you’re absolutely allowed to say no.”

Peter chuckled and his belly jiggled, “I imagine there would be a riot if I said no.”

“You can still decline. You have just given birth” Leon pointed out.

Peter smiled, even though Leon could see the exhaustion on his face. “There would be a riot if I said no.”

Leon nodded, “I’ll text them” he pulled out his phone and texted Scott letting him know that Peter was up for visitors.

“I know we talked about getting pregnant again straight away” Peter began, “but can we enjoy this for a bit longer.”

Leon nodded reassuringly, “Absolutely. There’s no rush.”

Peter grinned mischievously, “I didn’t think you’d agree that quickly.”

Leon smiled, “Yeah well, it’s your body. I don’t want to push you.” He looked down at the infant in his arms. “He looks like you.”

Peter snorted, “he’s an infant. He might end up looking like you. Or blond.”

Leon chuckled amused, he heard movement at the door. “Knock Knock” Scott said, his blond hair that was getting more grey streaks in it appeared around the doorway. “Can we come in.”

“Yes come In” Peter said with a genial smile.

“Come on in boys, and remember what we talked about” Scott said firmly but loving, in that way that only grandparents could.

Three boys stood in the doorway, all holding each other’s hands. Each of them had dark hair, although their second child had waves in his hair that reminded Leon of Peter when his hair grew out.

Romeo Knight their eldest, who was proudly five years old. He was large boy, heavier than either Leon or Peter had been at that age.

A whole ten months younger was (Logan) Knight, he reminded Leon a lot of Carter. He had that same confidence.

A mere two months from being three years old was Benjamin. Who had become very confident in the last year. As he’d hit that age where he was starting to find his personality and had started talking back. He had Peter’s chin, although his pudgy features reminded Leon of Heath. Although Peter said he had Leon’s thick hair and eyes.

The now dethroned baby of the family was 1 and half year old Damian. Who now walked and talked, and seemed completely unbothered by his older brothers. A trait he apparently inherited from Peter, according to Scott.

“Hello Boys. Do you want to meet your little brother” Peter asked warmly.

“Your okay Papa?” Benjamin asked frowning. “Hospital is for sick.”

Leon chuckled, “It’s also for having babies.”

“No. I’m not sick” Peter added.

“See. I told you” Romeo said huffing, his belly bulging out.

Leon adjusted his position beside Peter. Revealing the infant in his arms. “This is Jason.”

“Can we pick a different name?” Logan frowned.

“No” Peter chuckled.

The boys all waddled forward, and Leon carefully lowered the infant to his lap, his considerable belly practically reaching his knees now days.

Damian developed a deep frown as Scott carried him over. “No baby” he frowned.

“You’re still a baby” Peter said gently, “Papa give him here.”

Scott carefully gave Damian to Peter, Peter squeezed him tightly, “You are still special to me, and your incredible big brother.”

“Dada Big” Damian grinned.

Romeo, Logan and Benjamin giggled loudly.

“Okay” Leon sighed, shaking his head. “You boys might end up fat like me or your Uncle Heath. So I wouldn’t laugh.

“He’s little” Logan frowned.

“Babies are always little” Romeo said firmly. “Can I hold him?”

Leon considered and hesitated. He looked at Peter who nodded. Leon patted the bed, and Romeo sat beside him. Carefully Leon offered the infant to his son, “Support his head, and be gentle.”

Romeo carefully held his little brother, cuddling him against his belly. “Hello” he said gently. “Is he sleeping?”

“Just resting” Leon said amused.

“I was really worried about Papa, because he didn’t come to pick me up from school. Instead I had to go to Uncle Connor’s house. And then Grandpa picked me up.”

“I know your Papa, had to give birth” Leon nodded.

“I know. But I worried about Logan, Benny and Damian” Romeo said firmly.

“You worried about your brothers. Of course” Leon smiled, glancing at Peter who smiled.

“That’s very caring of you” Peter agreed.

“Here we go. I got it” Scott said as he held out his mobile. He jabbed the screen, Leon glanced over and saw Carter’s bulging fat face. His three chins and plump cheeks filling the screen. “Can you see.”

“I can see” Carter replied. “Now. Show me my grandson.”

“Oh cheers. Thanks Dad” Peter scoffed.

“I know what you look like kiddo” Carter said.

“Hi Grandad!” Romeo beamed, “I’m holding Jason” he said enthusiastically.

“Look at you” Carter smiled. “Scott bring me closer.”

Scott rolled his eyes and Leon couldn’t help but grin. He held the camera close, showing the infant in Romeo’s arms.

“Look at him. He’s perfect. Congratulations boys” Carter smiled. “I’d be there if I could still walk.”

Peter rolled his eyes, “It’s your fault for being immobile.”

“Mhmmmm” Scott nodded in agreement.

“Hey. No teaming up against me” Carter said frowning. “I can’t help those Redfield genes.”

Peter shook his head, and kissed Damian on the forehead.

“Okay. I’m going to get back to fussing over my grandson” Scott said hanging up.

“Has Dad lost weight?” Peter asked.

“No. No he hasn’t” Scott asked, signing. “Stubborn. Is what he is.”

Leon grinned, knowing Carter would never loose weight, as he was quite proud that he was now house bound. Struggling to get off the couch on a full stomach. A little part, well more than a little part was jealous.

“Can we have turns?” Logan asked looking at Leon.

“Sure” Leon said as he carefully took the baby back from Romeo. Romeo slid off the bed with a thump.

“Logan. Remember to be gentle” Peter said firmly.

Leon supported each of the their children, as they all took turns holding him. Except for Damian, who Peter judged was slightly too young to manage. Instead Scott just held him

Close, while Leon made sure Damian didn’t slap or hurt his baby brother.
