Do not expect

One thing I’ve learned over the years no matter how hard and painful this can be is - do not expect from people to give you something that they don’t have. If you are nice to people and an encourager, do not! do not! do not! expect in return the same. Some people can not (at least in the season they are in) to be nice back or be an encouragement to you. But do not be disappointed, turn those moments of disappointment to God. Thank Him that He is your greatest encourager. He is the PERFECT father. Who is always ready to encourage you even when you are not doing that great. To see the best in you, when you are at your lowest. Ohhh what a release is to expect EXTRAORDINARY THINGS from GOD, but not from people.

But please keep giving your love, your encouragement, your love to those around you. Be a river of refreshment in their lives, God put you there for a reason. But guard your heart. They might not appreciate it or ever say a word of kindness. That’s ok. God knows. He will shower You with uncontainable blessings and explosive joy in many other ways or through other people.

Love is -

loving without expecting to receive love

loving those who do not know how to love

loving those who cannot give you anything back.

Maybe this is true love actually.
