Mirage
As I lie my head down against the warm familiar pillow I begin to dose off. Bright, vibrant, translucent, colors of, white and grey, orange and red, green and violet, fill my gentle mind. I begin to realize I’m seeing through my eyes and I’m standing. I’m Alone in a Dream. Nothing for miles and miles and miles. My eyes start to adjust to the light and I make out different three-dimensional objects floating in the sky. Cubes of enormous size. Sharp Pyramids. Perfect Spheres. All of these beautiful geometric shapes hover in the horizon. There is a sort of ambiance here, soft vibrations that seem far off in the distance. I can see a faint hue on the horizon. I walk towards the Mirage as the Sands of Time pass under my feet. I seem to be getting no closer to the Mirage I see, that does not halt my voyage. As I walk On And On...And On I see Leftover Dreams that buzz all around me. I past different passage ways that won’t be explored. A wave of Nostalgia passes through me taking me to childhood, to past friendships, lovers, thoughts, emotions, views, times. Suddenly, a gust of Longing sweeps passed and brushes the Sands of Time into the air. The grains of sand begin to form a shape, a person. They stand still and look at me. The Man of Sand takes my hand and leads me farther into the Mirage. Soon we pass ad infinitum and the vibrating ambiance increasingly intensifies. The Edge. The Man of Sand lets go of my hand and fades into the air over the Edge. Passed the Edge is everything I have ever seen. All my homes, places of work, parks I’ve played at, restaurants I’ve ate in, the homes of relatives and friends I’ve visited, cars I’ve driven in all drive around this little town made just for me. I look to see a way down to the town but no area surfaces. I begin to get frustrated at the lack of a way down. With that, the building begin to disappear. I turn around to see the large shapes in the sky, also, disappearing. I think to myself what have I done, I have ruined the place of my memory. The ground around me is disappearing too. The colors fade into dull white changing to black as I awake from my dream, back in my familiar bed with my warm pillow.
