Ancient temple

Ancient temple

In a city unknown to men stood a temple created by beings far superior to humans. It’s twisted design would not be understood by human limited minds and even less the cosmic and mysterious properties inside of it.

Aranthemon was once a human and he was transcended by these cosmic beings, he also had a room in this temple.

His chair was made of black stone which seemed to be alive and constantly shifting, pouring more cosmic energy into him when were he sat in it.

In front of the chair stood a black wide chalice and the dark water in it could show him anything that he wanted, but most of all he enjoyed watching humans, as they struggled with the one that wanted to come down and live amongst them, to rule them. This was one they called Khul Duhl Suhl, even though his cosmic name was different.

Khul Duhl Suhl lost many of his abilities when he chose to cross the vortex and live in their world, nevertheless, even as a primitive beast that he has now become he was still far superior to them. Many of them worshiped him, many have died trying to defeat him.

The human fear is what fed Khul Duhl Suhl’s powers, out of this fear those who worshiped him became devoid of all reason and harmed others around them. Aranthemon found human weakness amusing, he could no longer even imagine that he once was one of those miserable creatures.

With that said, a few of these weaklings impressed Aranthemon as he watched them in their comical struggle to end something that was endless.

Besides himself, Khul Duhl Suhl also woke several others that slept under the surface of the human planet. Those were the ones that ruled the world a very long time ago, most were lost in the vortex of the universal black hole and did not awaken, but those that did could not retain the knowledge that they used to possess and merely became powerful beasts living among humans and tormenting them, but even these dumb beasts were able to gather large amount of followers, which said a lot of the human awareness and intelligence level.

Aranthemon closed the cosmic screen and allowed his mind enter the flow of never ending cosmos as he connected with other beings dwelling in the temple. Even for him this flow was utterly overpowering and immense.

“Maybe the humans were after all the lucky ones”, thought Aranthemon, in their ignorance they could have more joy in their short life despite having almost no true knowledge of greater things.

Could it be that deep inside, Aranthemon envied their fragility?
