Love, Your Baby
Logan Fuller
Dear Mommy,
Please don’t throw me away?
I’m sorry,
I know you never wanted me in the first place. But I’m in love with the sound of your voice. And I can’t wait to see your face.
I can’t stop you from making the choice...
to simply put me to waste.
Keeping me use to be a problem that was hard to fix.
But I overheard you talking to the doctors about their magic tricks.
Don’t give up on me, mommy.
I know you look down at your tummy
and that bump is a sign of disgrace.
A sign of past mistakes.
The weight slows you down throughout the day.
And you wake up every morning with a stomach ache.
But mommy, please don’t throw me away.
I know I come with great responsibility.
And it’d be easy to simply get rid of me.
That’s what the doctors say.
But if it was between you and me,
I really want to stay.
Give me a chance.
My heart is already beating.
The sound of yours lulls me to sleep.
I was hoping to have a name.
I was hoping to be the baby that you keep.
Mom, please don’t let them take me away so soon.
There’s nothing I can say when I’m tucked up in your womb.
I just want to be wrapped up in your arms.
I never meant to bring you harm.
I can only say so much, but loving you will not be hard.
Cause when my eyes open for the first time,
I’ll see the mommy that’s fully mine.
You have blue eyes too!
Look mommy, I look just like you!
Please don’t throw me away, mommy,
I love you.
love,
your baby.
