DAMIAN GARSIDE

ALL THE WAY HOME

I wanted to

market my poem

but

when I

tried to get

it down to the market,

stubborn as a mule

it refused to budge

and then

turned Ariel on me

floating away

lighter than

air

lighter than your

favorite puff pastry, toasted

breakfast cereal, lo-

fat spread

than the pillow your

dreaming head settles upon

than

your soul would be

after purchasing my

zero gravity poetic

product

(if only I

could get it

to the market).
