Naruto: A Generation Ahead
"Hurry we are running out of time!"
"Look I'm going as fast as I can."
"Guys, my legs really hurt."
"I'm sorry, just hold out for a little longer, ok"
"Crap, more ninjas behind us"
"Take her, go to the meet up, I'll be there as soon as I can, be safe"
"Oh look, the girl is being a decoy to save her friends, how cute."
"Can it tubby. You want me, here I am. Lets end this here and now"
"Yes, let us finish it now. Boys, take her down"
"You are gonna wish you had never messed with me, fatso"
"Kalum! Kora! Breakfast is done, come down, we have a busy day today!"
Kalum woke up rubbed his eyes and got out of his bed. As he began to open his eyes a splash of water hit him and spread across his face. "Ya wake up sleepy head," Kora laughed as she ran away from her brother. "Kora!!!!!!! "Kalum exclaimed, "You are gonna get it now!!!" He chased her out of the room, around the upstairs, and as she went down the stairs he jumped on her. He landed directly on her and she squealed in fright. "Both of you stop hurting each other, you are twins. Start being nice to each other," Hinata lectured. "Yes mom," they both said as they took their seats at the table. Hinata sighed, she stood looking at her two children, and let out a soft smile. Just as they all began eating the door slammed open. The loud noise caused them all to jump, and they looked at the door. Naruto came stumbling out. He held his head and wore a stern, stressed expression. Hinata greeted her loved one and patted the seat next to her, inviting him to sit. He let out a grin and came and sat down. The kids greeted their father, and they all sat and ate together.
Naruto smiled at his children. They reminded him so much of himself. He then looked at his beautiful wife, he remember all the old times they had when they were children. Looking back at his children he realized they reminded him of his wife too. His daughter, Kora, had blonde hair like himself but her eyes matched Hinatas. Her spunk and outgoing personality seemed to match Naruto's when he was younger. Then turning to his son he began to match the traits on him too. Kalum, Kora's twin, was nothing like his sister. He had dark hair like Hinata's but it had the shape of Naruto's. He had two marks on his cheeks, hand-me-downs from Naruto himself's face. His eyes were big and bubbly but his personality was shy like his moms. All the traits added together made him smile, his kids were perfect. Hinata caught his silent smile, and she herself smiled. Their eyes met and the smile only deepened. Just then a messenger hawk entered the open window In their kitchen. Naruto rose form his spot and walked to it. Everyone watched the Hokage as he received information. He wrote a letter on the back of his mail and sent the hawk back to the original sender. Then he turned to his family with a stern look, and they looked back with worried eyes. Them he let loose a smile, relieving his watchers, and told them it was good news. "I'm sorry. Please finish breakfast without me, I have business to attend to," he said. With that he kissed his wife, hugged his children, and left, leaving them to eat alone.
Throughout the day the village of the hidden leaf began to set up for festivities. Everyone was busy setting up and preparing for guests to arrive. People from the Sand, The Sound and other villages would be coming to celebrate. They could be there any minute. Building to building people sat setting up streamers, lights, candles, lanterns, food and items stands, and anything else they could possibly think of. Around lunch time the Hokage walked down the streets of his beloved village. He was impressed with how hard everyone had been working. Naruto had worked hard to become Hokage, he earned it and no one was disappointed when he did. He looked after his family, friends, and villagers. He cared for everyone and was strong, which made him a good leader. He was able to bring back his old friend, and send him down the right path. Eventually his friend became the Otokage and took care of the sound. The two villages became allies from then on. All his friends would be coming down to visit for a good week long festival. He had been preparing it for quite some time, and as he walked down the street he smiled at the decorations. He saw how hard his village was working and it made him so proud to be their Hokage. As he walked down toward the center of town he began to remember the last time they had a festival.
The streets were lined with happy faces smiling nonstop. He walked with his two nine year old kids and his gorgeous wife. All the townspeople greeted their Hokage as he passed them. Naruto and his family went past the celebrations and toward the gates of the village. He waited impatiently, his only distraction, his two kids trying to wrestle with him. Hinata giggled at her happy family. Just then a few figures entered the gates. Naruto got up and greeted his friends. "Sasuke!" he yelled. Naruto was happy to see his old friend, newly reverted back to the good side. He then turned to Sakura. He had always been impressed with her for actually getting the guy she liked. Sakura was pregnant and it was showing. She then told her son to come out from hiding. A little boy with dark hair and a face like Sasuke's walked out from behind her. He was introduced as Miharu. All the kids then went to attend the festival, Kora dragging Miharu along with her. Naruto remembered all the happiness of that day 5 years ago, and he looked forward to this year.
Sakura and Sasuke walked with there assistants toward the leaf village, they had anticipated this festival for 5 years. Naruto had always held a festival to honor the peace between the hidden villages, and Sakura remembered every time she had gone. Sadly 5 years ago was the last time she had been up until now. The last time she had been pregnant and was forced to leave with her close servant, Monte, when things got to crazy. Taking care of the baby was quite a task, and Miharu's accident didn't help. She was forced to miss the festival. Sasuke couldn't go because village business was getting difficult, so with it all they hadn't gone for all those years. Sakura walked seriously next to her husband, not a word had been said since they got into a fight about an old friend of Sakura's, which led to a bigger fight about an old friend of Sasuke's. Monte had taken the kids away so they wouldn't be involved, but Miharu wasn't a little kid anymore and he wasn't stupid. The body guard stayed close to the Uchiha twins but eavesdropped the whole way. Miharu walked silently, keeping a quiet eye on his little sister. His little sister skipped happily down the path. She was 5 years old, super nice, and smart and skilled for her age. Miharu adored his sister, Kalani, but he never showed it. At least not often. Kalani was skipping over rocks, even though her mother told her to stop and be careful, and as she hopped the last one her foot caught and she tripped. Sakura and Monte ran to her side, but Sakura just scolded the child while the clumsy guard made a mess out of the bandages. With the commotion Kalani's big eyes began to water, and Miharu saw this. He stomped to his mother and scolded her for handling the situation poorly, just because her and Sasuke fought again. Sakura was shocked by this and stepped back. Miharu ignored his mother and picked up his sister, who was happy to have her big brother. As they walked away together Kalani squeezed tightly around Miharu's shoulders and neck and cried.
Naruto was working hard on this last day of the festival preparations, tomorrow would be the official first day. After helping Inns and other businesses he took a short break at his favorite eatery, Ichiraku Ramen. He ordered his favorite kind of ramen, and sat down to enjoy himself. He had just begun eating when a familiar voice spoke, “Should have known he'd be here, I wasted all that time looking for him. I should have just looked her. What a drag.” Naruto was so indulged in his food he didn't even here the voices. “Now now hun, calm down.. Its not your fault, so don't chastise yourself. Who knew he hadn't outgrown this obsession,” the second voice, a female, chuckled. It wasn’t until a hand was put on his shoulder that Naruto awoke from his eating. “Huh?” he said as he turned around. Naruto's eyes were filled in, he hadn't expected his guests to arrive already. Standing behind him was an old pal, Shikimaru, who had been gone for a few months in the hidden sand village. Standing beside him was his wife, Temari. They grinned at Naruto, happy they finally got his attention away from his food. He was about to ask what they were doing here already but another person came into his view. His long time rival and his other best friend was here early as well. “Well I should have known the Kazekage would show up early,” he chuckled as he greeted Gaara.
It had been 5 years since he had seen Gaara. They couldn't hold the great festival if not all three Kage's were there. Since Sasuke and his family were unable to attend for all this time Naruto hadn't got to see much of the Sand village's Kage either. Gaara's wife, Matsuri, came running up to the group with Kankurou and his wife, Kashike, and their youngest son, Tama . “Sorry we got a little lost, and our kids went their own way, trying to check out the village,” Matsuri said, trying to catch her breath. “Ya, and I've only been here a few times, if I went looking I'd get lost,” Kashike added. Every0ne giggled at the three who clearly got lost looking for their “lost” kids. “Well, we better go find them before it gets too dark, they'll never be able to find where they are staying then,” Naruto said happily. And just like that the search party began.
Naruto and his friends were talking as they walked around Konoha looking for the kids. Naruto was talking to Gaara and Shikimaru about what they had been doing recently. Shikimaru told Naruto all about Temari, their daughter Ryo and him staying in Suna. They had been their for about a month and were helping fix things and rebuild after a huge sandstorm hit. He said he really liked it, except the heat, and that he has considered moving their permanently. Temari giggled and hugged her husband. Gaara explained his job has been stressful, a lot of the nearby villages were threatening the peace of the Sand village. Naruto became worried, that would mean they are threatening Sasuke and him as well. Kankurou noticed Naruto's fear and stress. “Hey now, no need to fret lets enjoy our time together,” he laughed, trying to lighten the mood. It worked and the adults began to laugh and joke more. About 5 minutes later Kankurou was walking with his wife and was carrying Tama on his back. Matsuri talked to them and the others. Suddenly Temari shouted, “Tsuki No! Ryo!” They had discovered two of the three kids. Tsuki No, was Tama's older sister and she came happily walking to her mother. Kashike scolded her daughter about walking off, then she hugged her tightly. Ryo walked over to her parents, eyes down. She expected to be yelled at far worst, and Temari was getting ready to yell. Just then Shikimaru laughed and patted his daughter on the head. “You had us worried. No more of that crap ok?” he laughed to her. Temari calmed down and smiled softly. “Now we have one more kid,” Kankurou said. Matsuri interrupted, “Ya, mine.”
Kalum had gotten ready for dinner, it was getting dark, and Hinata was busy in the kitchen. Kalum sat and watched his mother, wishing he could help (He has no cooking skills). Meanwhile Kora was Outside on her little porch. She spent her time their at night, looing at the stars. She liked it their, so she considered it hers. As she was sitting in her favorite seat, on her favorite porch looking up at the stars that she wished was hers she heard footsteps. Father , she thought. She turned to greet him, but was shocked to see a Red haired boy with dark eyes looking at her house. Definitely NOT Father, She thought. She was getting ready to say something when he turned and looked at her. “This is the Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki's, House right?” he said. She nodded. Who is... She began, Wait, Red hair? Can it be that he's.... Her thoughts were cut short when she saw the boy was VERY close to her. “Don't you recognize me, Kora,” he started,” Its Zabieru you idiot.” Kora was hit with the sudden realization of an old friend. She was shocked to see how much he changed. The little boy, with cute blue eyes that had and old teddy bear and a brown cloak was gone. He was replaced with a tall Teenager who wore torn up clothes and had dark eyes, a total bad boy. He... He's way Cute... She thought to herself. Then she processed the rest of what he said. “I'm Not an idot!!!” she ferociously snapped. “Yep, same old Kora. Still ditzy..,” He got close to her face, nose to nose, before he continued, “and still in love with me.” He let a cruel smirk slip through the corners of his mouth. Kora blushed and backed up. “I'm not in love with YOU,” She yelled. I'm not... am I?....
“God you are such an idiot,” Zabieru's bully laugh let loose. Kora just became more furious and turned a bright shade of red. She was more than embarrassed by now. Kalum overheard an unfamiliar laugh outside and became curious. He snuck up to a nearby window and watched. He saw his sister was becoming sad, frustrated, and angry. He also saw the red haired boy was the one making her this way. He didn't like this at all, he may be shy, but no one should make fun of his twin that way. He mustered up his small amount of bravery and began to march outside.
“H...hey... you... Ya, leave my sister alone!” Kalum yelled.
“Kalum, what are you...--” Kora began
“Shut up twerp, this doesn't involve you. Get lost before I make you,” Zabieru replied.
“What, I.. I can...Take you....” Kalum said quietly.
Zabieru walked up to Kalum. Just like Kora, Zabieru was taller than him. Kalum looked up and gulped, just what did he get into. Zabieru rose a fist and Kalum shut his eyes getting ready for a punch. Then the red-haired boy began to mess up Kalum's hair, as he laughed loudly, pleased with himself. Kalum and Kora both became confused.
“Haha, you were actually scared? Same old Kalum, 'little leaf is scared of the sandstorm'” Zabieru smirked.
Then Kalum's eyes widened with the realization of who this was.
“Zabieru? Is that you?”
“Duh, haha took you long enough”
They laughed and hugged while Kora sat in the background, irritated.
Footsteps began to be heard from behind the children. A voice shouted 'Hey' and they all turned around. Naruto and the rest of the search party waved and greeted Zabieru, glad to see he wasn't lost. Then Hinata came out the door,” Food is ready kids! Woah, that's a lot of people, I don't think I made enough.” She stares at the large crowd of familiar faces, and they smile and start to laugh, then Hinata follows. Laughter fills the streets and the group enters the house. Gaara enters last, he takes a look back and searches the area, then looks up at the sky, as if loking for something. He squints his eyes, his face creating and untrusting glare, and turns to enter the house deciding they were alone and safe.
But a few miles away, danger
The next day began very well. It was the first official day of the festival. Hinata and her family were preparing for the busy day when Naruto finally awoke. He rubbed his eyes and stretched. He stumbled out of his room. His head throbbed but he smiled as he entered the kitchen and saw Hinata busy making goodies.
"Good morning love," Naruto said.
"Good afternoon you mean,"Hinata corrected with a wink," You must have had to much sake last night, you overslept."
"What no, I'm late!!" Naruto yelled.
He rushed around getting ready. He tripped over things and fell a few times in his hurry. Kalum and Kora giggled at their father. He finally came out of his room looking good, the only problem was he was still holding his head from the migraine. Even though his head hurt, he said goodbye to his wife and kids and took off out of the house to meet his friends at the gate.
"Hurry up children, we must meet your cousins at the center of town, they are waiting" Hinata says with a smile.
Kalum and Kora nod and tell her they are ready. Following Naruto's footsteps they head out to meet friends.
In the center of the village Hinata and her kids arrive. They look around but are unable to find the people they are looking for. Then a familiar voice calls out to Hinata.
"Yo, Hinata, over here!"
"Rock Lee! There you are, I was afraid you left" Hinata replies
Kalum and Kora wave at their uncle, who smiles and waves back. Then two other kids walk up and greet everyone as well. Rock Lee's children, Tenshi and Momoko step out from behind their father. Momoko is a young girl, only 12. She wears a red updated kimono, and a pearl necklace. She wears shorts that show through the sides of her Kimono. Her hair mathces Kalum and Hinata, and she has her right bangs wrapped. Her eyes are like Kora's, looking blinding but seeing well. Tenshi is Momoko's older brother. He looks much like Rock Lee, but he has bangs and looser hair. Thick white arm bands sit around his wrist and forearms accompanied by a white sash around his waist. His reen and yellow designed tank top matches his long baggy pants.
The cousins become happy to see each other, and start to laugh and talk, ignoring their parents. With permission they head out together to experience the festival alone.
Rock Lee turns back to Hinat, continuing their conversation, " No, the kids were to excited to see Kora and Kalum, so they wouldn't leave."
"That's good, Hinata says relieved, " Wait where's Hanabi?"
"Well" rock lee gulps," She lost her patience and left us here to wait for you."
Hinata sighs, upset by the familiar and poor reaction of her sister. Rock Lee senses her dismay and tries to lighten her mood," Hey now, you know how she gets..."
"Yes of course I do," Hinata remarks, still upset," Don't forget we are sisters."
Hinata walked down the street by herself. Her kids had gone with their cousins and Rock Lee had left to take care of some errands. She was upset, no doubt, that her sister would ruin their plans. 'We were suppose to eat lunch together' Hinata scowled to herself,'How can she be so rude and inconsiderate?' She sighed. There was no use in being upset now, Hanabi never changed. Just then a thought crossed her mind. She smiled, turned around and power walked down the street.
"TENTEN!" Hinata yelled as she arrived at her destination. Tenten wandered out of the house with a curious look. "Is something the matter Hinata?" she asked. Hinata told her all about her sister and how she ruined their plans, and Tenten let out a giggle. "Oh you sisters, can't you just make life easier and say you love each other?" she teased with a wink. With that her and Hinata entered the house. A small boy came running up to Tenten, fiery red hair topped his head with freckles spread from cheek to cheek to match. "Rairi sure has gotten big hasn't he?," Hinata said witha smile. "Well he's the youngest to, so imagine how big they are getting,",Tenten groaned,"You haven't been around lately, so I guess you haven't seen them." Hinata frowned at that statement. Tenten noticed and began to apologize when a girl came in from the backyard, her Kimono was covered in mud. "AHHH Quinn! What did you do to your Kimono!?" Tenten cried out. Quinn shrugged and put her ninja gear down as she went and got orange juice. "I swaer, you may be a wonderful ninja, but you are not a polite girl," Tenten groaned again. Quinn had the face of her dad and Hinata, her eyes and hair were identical. "You look just like Neji," Hinata smiled and said to Quinn. She shrugged again and proceeded to leave the house when The door flew open. An angry Neji came stopping in growling and cursing at whoever was behind him. Quinn backed up and let her dad and older brother in. "Pito! You are suppose to be helping the Hokage stand guard at the FESTIVAL! Not roaming around in the woods looking for trouble taht's not there!" Neji yelled, "You are so close to being ANBU don't mess this up and disgrace me now!" Pito rolled his eyes, and continued to his room. "Neji please calm down, we have a guest," Tenten said soothingly. Neji turned to see his cousin sitting with a shocked expression at all the commotion. "Great, I didn't expect the Hokage's wife to be here, please forgive my episode,"Neji said. "Neji, you should talk to your son like an adult, since he is one. And drop the formalities," Hinata replied," Afterall, we are family."
