Spirit Quest (I Know!):
-- When Sal is showing Aaron the temporal dome’s control panel, he tells him that if the meter gets above 715 Kelvin for too long, the link back to the 21st century will be broken. While they can recreate a link to the past again easily enough, it wouldn’t be to the exact moment and place in the time/space continuum. With infinite parallel universes for the temporal domes to connect with, the probability of connecting with exactly the same moment and place again are infinitesimally small. If you were in a dome in the past (or future) that lost its link to your present, you’d be trapped there.
-- The differences between the infinite universes are, well, infinite. The differences could be as significant as the dinosaurs never died out or Hitler died in infancy. Or, they could be as insignificant as your cousin losing a dime through a hole in his pocket in one universe and a penny in another. A White Pear tree in Johannesburg in 1887 is missing one solitary leaf, whereas in another universe, it isn’t. And, of course, the differences could be one event or millions of separate events that culminate in infinitely different ‘nows’.
-- Open the story with Walks-In-Door fleeing the cougar. Lose the whole million dollar outhouse scene.
-- What is Aaron’s relationship with Danny Knowski? Is Danny the new boyfriend who stole his girlfriend?
-- What is Aaron’s motivation? Is he intending on getting trapped in the past from the very beginning of the story? (Of course)
-- Why would anyone fret about law enforcement breaking up the party? It would be held 400 years before those laws would be on the books.
