Dave apologized to his MD, the boss for being late at the meeting. Due to the fact that he succeeded in winning everything at the company, he knew that his boss, Mike, would always forgive him. Everyone also knew that Dave was a smooth operator.

'I' m afraid I wasn't aware of whether we had a meeting today or not.' Dave explained the reason he was late.

'Dave, we missed the bargains because we didn't get there soon enough.' Mike looked concerned and disappointed.

'Mike, I am so... so sorry that I didn't get there in time. Anyway, I still think that the flight takes less than five hours. I mean, we can absolutely meet his CEO and... .' Dave is trying to convince the boss.

'And what ....?

'And you will be able to give him some advice and that old man would definitely change his mind!' At this moment Mike started to look crossed but he still kept his emotion silently.

'What I was trying to say here is we still have time to convince him. Please trust me on this, Mike.' The negotiation seemed to be working pretty well because Dave noticed that Mike started to make a pleasant eye contact.

The talk eventually went pretty well and it was fortunate for Dave, and afterwards he got promoted to MD's assistant! Even though it was such a luck, Mike still needed to give Dave a gentle warning, 'Dave, you must make sure that everyone except yourself got a raise, as you are coming to the office late.' Dave didn't reply anything but smiled to himself before walking away.

Within a week, Dave would miss at least a meeting; however, there was no one ... no one who had the guts to start a complaint. Almost every employee truly believed that Mike was scared of Dave!

The question was that how long Dave had worked for the company and how many times he broke the rules. of course, without his intelligence, he would not be here. Some people began to learn a new thing--whenever someone who was talented but didn't follow the policy, he or she could do anything as he or she pleased.

Apparently, it was recommended that everyone at the office put pressure on Mike to terminate Dave one day on condition that the company accepted a new recruit and Mike needed to make sure that this greenhorn must be gifted. Mike still wondered how long this new comer would be great enough to apprentice himself or herself to experience everything.

Today was Friday. As usual, Dave felt ecstatic. He became so enthusiastic and energetic that everyone in the office couldn't help saying something great to him. He did not only come to work on time but he also showed his generosity to people around him. He asked his colleagues to come to his house that night because he would throw a party at his house at 8 pm.

Not surprisingly, he arrived at work on time, but he got off work really early. His excuse appeared to be trustful--he would do the catering before the party started. Once again, no one complained of being treated unfairly. Since Mike was invited to this party, it was suggested that everybody participate this fest without hesitation.

It was 8:15 at night and Dave hadn't shown up at his own house; on the other hand, Mike and all staff were standing and waiting in front of the house. The surroundings were noisy and crowded, especially when some neighbors arrived there.

Another 15 minutes later a young good-looking guy hopped out and he must express his great surprise while walking directly to his house which on fire. He began to play the blame game--how come he didn't know what had happened to his his house.

A very man who was standing on the footpath told Dave that every colleague had tried to reach him but he kept rejecting the phone calls. Despite the fact that Mike left a message on his cell, there was no response. This brave man still continued his bravery confidently, 'So, nobody waited for your decision making, we called the fire department and before that we also tried to get through your front door, plus fire attendants pulled their trucks around the back doors which took everybody quite some time.

Dave still asked who was to blame for and he insisted that the coincidence be far better if everyone there really wanted to help him. The silence took over for less than a half minute; every soul must turn around and look at the man who was in the corner's dog began to bark and people from the office suddenly heard the scariest reply from this man. Gently, calmly, but aggressively, the man made a polite eye contact with Dave and said, 'Because you are NEVER on the dot... .'

Once in a while life might like to play tricks on people. These unlucky persons must learn how to control themselves wisely and carefully. This time this twisted fate came and visited Dave. He was smart enough but not careful enough.
