Jeremiah 2:2
"I remember how eager you were to please me as a young bride long ago, how you loved me and followed me even through the barren wilderness."
Dear child I see that you have stumbled into the barren wilderness. But it has become so deep and so darkened. To love me and follow me or to even see me is a difficult desire to have in such darkness. I see the wild creatures have you surrounded and their wicked ways have become yours. You've been blinded to my light but never my love. You wouldn't remember but on your very worst day my love was still strongly drawn to you (Romans 5:8). You don't believe me? You're consumed in the lies that you are unwanted, unworthy, guilty, ashamed, foolish, and forgotten. How could I forget such a beloved child? The truth is you were born to be righteous, loved, and forgiven. You were born to be reborn and set apart from the world. Because I promised to never leave you nor forsake you, I will love you and pursue you even through your barren wilderness (Deuteronomy 31:6).
