-- Maybe the protagonist winds up at a dance with the girl he’s always pined for. At the dance a couple of kids who witnessed him best the school bully come over to congratulate him. They talk about the weird dance he did just before he decked the bully. Then the other kids start doing the dance. More kids see them and soon the whole school is “doing the Konami.” They all get the things they always wanted: (a girl gets accepted for an AFS scholarship; a boy jumps onstage with the band and lays down some slick riffs; another boy’s long lost father shows up at the dance to reunite with his son). Everyone is suddenly super, and so, therefore, no one is. The protagonist realizes he has no powers any more.
