Descendants 2 - Ways to be Wider
Chapter 1
Mal opened his green eyes, as he blinked trying not to let his eyes water. As he struggled with the repetitive flashes from the cameras. Microphones and tape recorders held outstretched into Mal’s face.
“Mal, please, over here! Mal!”
“Only three days to the Royal Cotillion. Ever think a boy like you would be Lord of the Court?” Mal held his chin up, it didn’t show his double chin as much. And the constant magazine spreads showing his weight gain were getting a little much. He didn’t feel like he’d gotten that fat. Maybe he had.
“How does it feel to be the most envied person in Auradon?” Was he. Mal didn’t feel envied, Mal felt himself. He was also getting very sick of that question.
“Well, do you like being blonde?” Mal couldn’t help but smirk a little. He was unsure of the new hair. It was his natural hair sure, but it’d been so long. It felt rebellious.
“Is your mother still a lizard?” Yep. That was officially the question he was sick of.”
“Okay. All right. Excuse me. Uh, we will let you know if and when that particular situation changes.” Ben said diplomatically. Effortlessly dealing with the press, as the microphones turned to Ben.
“Did you ever think you'd be with a Villain Kid?” One Reporter said grinning.
“We're done here” Ben said frowning, as he straightened his belly bulging.
“Okay. Shush, shush. Shoosh, shoosh. Shoosh, shoosh.” Fairy Godmother, said cutting in raising her hand and attempting to silence the press. “This is still a school, so if you're here, you're either skipping or trespassing.”
“Just one quick question” A woman said leaning forward. Mal thought it was quite brave.
“Shush. Shush” Fairy Godmother silenced.
“Fairy Godmother!” The Woman insisted peturbed.
“Shhh. Shhh. Shhh” Fairy Godmother silenced the reporters finally.
“Thank you, guys” Ben said nodding. His heavy arm reaching across Mal’s shoulders.
“Thank you. Thank you. Thank you” Mal added, still not certain why he was thanking people who were rather determined to be a nuseince.
“Mal. Ben.” Fairy Godmother said leading them round to the other side of the Squat hedges away from the reporters.
“Fairy Godmother.” Ben smiled puffing a little from the short waddle.
“Fairy Godmother.” Mal said gently. Fairy Godmother smiled genially, before walking back off to the school.
“Whew” Mal relaxed, his belly puffing out.
“Don't pay any attention to them” Ben resssured, reaching out and rubbing Mal’s belly.
Mal pulled away instinctively, “Well, that's a lot easier said than done, right?” he chuckled a little. Trying to act confident.
“I know. I know. You know, maybe we should do something. We should go somewhere. Get away. Stuff our bellies” Ben offered, Mal could hear the nerves in Ben’s voice. He wanted to make things alright with him.
“Yeah” Mal felt a smile hesitate across his lips. I nodded slowly.
“You know, what if...” Ben’s eyes went wide. “I have a council meeting. I'm so late!” He groaned cupping his face.
“That's okay” Mal resssured patting Ben’s arm.
“We'll. We'll do it sometime. Uh...” Ben offered honestly. Bouncing on his feet, aware he had to be off.
“If we don't do a fitting for your suit right this minute, you'll be dancing in your bathrobe, okay?” Evie said to Mal firmly. She turned to Ben “Hi. Let's go. Let's go.” She insisted dragging Mal by his wrist.
“Bye, Ben” Mal waved awkwardly to Ben.
“Bye” Ben’s chubby face grinned.
“King Ben! King Ben! King Ben!” Came the shouts from over his shoulders, as The reporters closed in.
“Uh...” Ben hesitated. Before dashing off to an awaiting car, his belly bulging as he climbed in. Aware the photos would be in tomorrow’s papers.
❧
Mal had been cajoled into standing on a platform. Evie was trying to pin his Catillion suit, which was rather garish shade of bright yellow. “Oh! Okay, Evie, I cannot breathe!” Mal wheezed, already sucking his belly in as much as he could.
“Well, you can breathe after Cotillion” She commented tugging and pinning a flap of fabric. Concentrating on her latest construction, and not Mal’s comfort.
“Well, I sincerely doubt that. I have at least 20 more events directly behind it, and I can't even remember what a single one of them is...and I still have to study for final exams” Mal trailed off, the fact he still had to do school work and all these extra royal commitments. Still he was pregnant so, he supposed he’d be forced to slow down in a few months. Which would be such a horror. Mal smirked at that thought.
“Impeccable.”
“Evie?” Mal asked as he watched his best friend circle him.
“Hmm?” Evie hummed.
“Do you ever think about what we'd be doing if we were back on the Isle right now?” Mal asked. Undoing the jacket button and letting his belly out. Twelve months off the isle, and all Mal had done. Was get fat. Really, really fat.
That's funny” Evie laughed. The familiar jingle of the Auradon Tonight Jingle came blaring out of the Tv. “Ah! Look who's on TV.” She grinned pointing to the television in the corner.”
Mal turned and caught a glimpse of the commentary, as he sat down on the end of Evie’s bed. “As the royal couple continued their tour of the kingdom, they dined with Aladdin and Jasmine.” There was footage of him at the Sultan’s palace. He and Ben kneeling on cushions, as they politely ate Agrabah delicacies. Dining alongside Aladdin and Jasmine. All four were dressed in traditional garb. Ben and Aladdin had their bellies hanging out.
“I had the runs all week because of this” Mal sighed grimacing at the memory.
“No one thought King Ben and his boyfriend from the wrong side of the bridge would last” The commentary continued.
“Yeah. I hadn’t noticed that at all” Mal muttered.
“Mal must be counting the days until the Royal Cotillion. When He will officially become a Lord of the Court.” Footage from the press conference from Earlier today started playing.
“Fuck” he remembered and began ticking through his bag. Pulling out a pair of books. One the Spell book passed down from his mother, and another book on Royal protocol Lumiere had given to him. Mal flipped the spell book open to where he had folded the corner of the page. “Read it fast at lightning speed. Remember everything I need.” Mal waved his finger as Magic rose from the book and followed Mal’s finger movements.
Evie watched Arms crossed, As Mal speed read the etiquette book. Cover to cover in seconds. “I know Mal's secret to fitting in, and Ben wouldn't like it one bit. Haven't you guys had enough secrets between the two of you already?”
“Evie, you remember what I was like before I started using my spell book. I mean, I was a complete disaster” Mal insisted putting both books away. Not really wanting to have that argument again. “I was getting lectured by Cogsworth every second day.”
“Well, personally, as your best friend, I strongly believe that this spell book...”
“Nope!” Mal said raising his hands in defence. “I don’t want to hear it.”
“It belongs in the museum, along with my mirror” Mal frowned and grimaced at Evie. “Don't give me the face. Put the pout away, I’m not Ben” Evie scoulded playfully. “Mm-hmm. You know I'm right.”
“You don't ever miss running wild and just breaking all the rules?” Mal sighed with a nostalgic grin.
“Like stealing and lying and fighting?”
“Yeah! Like the old days, when it was us and Harry”
“No!” Evie said firmly. “And I really don’t miss Harry. Ben’s a big improvement.”
“What?” Mal said looking over at his best friend in shock. “Your kidding right?”
“Why would we? M, come here” She gestured to the windows gracefully. “Look at where we are. We're in Auradon! And we're Auradon kids now.”
“Yeah. Six months I’m actually out growing a medium. I am well aware I’m becoming an Auradon Kid” Mal muttered prodding his belly. But then smiled, as he remembered what was now growing inside of him.
“Since Mal revealed his love of strawberries, he has received hundreds of cartons from his admirers. Here he is enjoying a cozy bite” The commentator offered.
“See, this is the land of opportunity. We can be whatever we want to be here. So, please, let's just leave the past in the past, okay? Besides, I mean, look at the shoes. Look at them.” Evie gestured to the shoes Mal was wearing, Yellow ankle length boots with blue decoration.
“Mm. Fierce” Mal grinned tugging his pant leg to examine them. “I still wouldn’t have minded CMF boots.”
“We both know that was never going to be an option” Evie said chuckling as she shook her head.
❧
Mal was digging through his locker. He’d changed into something more comfortable. Black jeans, a baggy purple t-shirt. It used to be baggy intentionally, now it was one of the few of his old t-shirts that still fitted and it was skin tight. “Hi, Mal” Ben grinned warmly. Crumbs were lingering just beside his lips.
“Hi” Mal said with as Ben’s infectious smile overcame her. He reached up and wiped the crumbs off his cheek.
“I have a little surprise for you.”
“Again? Wow. That's literally like every day now” Mal said arkwardly. He hadn’t really been reciprocating beyond putting out. And the occasional feeding session. Mostly as he was poor, he couldn’t afford lavish gifts.
“Or every other day. The even dates. Because you're” Ben considered searching for the right word. He then beamed, his sweet smile that made his round cheeks bulge “even more perfect than I thought.”
“That is me. I am perfect” Mal said flatly. Sarcasm dripping with his answer.
“Come on, let me spoil you. You didn't have a lot growing up” Ben’s arms curled around Mal, his belly pressing against him tightly.
“We managed...” Mal said embarrassed, as people started to stare. Ben was so confident about public displays of affection. Mal wasn’t quite used to it. Mal pulled away and leaned over to close his locker, and specifically push his spell book so it was less displayed.
“Hey, didn't you donate that to the museum?” Ben said noticing the Spell book.
“Is that still in there?” Mal said grinning surprise and slammed his locker shut. “Well Um, I got to get to class. I really don't want to be late...” Mal said beginning to walk away, sometimes it was just easier not to talk about it.
“No. You come this way” Ben pulled Mal back into his arms. Manhandling over to a something covered in blue sheet with a yellow bow. “First off... Ta-da!” Ben said pulling the sheet off and grinning proudly. Beneath the tarp was a bright purple moped. It looked rather impressive, if a bit lurid. “What?!” Mal stared in genuine shock. It was very him.
“You like it?” Ben asked sweetly.
“Ben!” Mal said running his hands over the seat. “does an ogre like cheese puffs? This is amazing! It's purple!” Mal said beaming, and then his face fell. “I didn't get you anything” Mal muttered quietly, he couldn’t compete with Ben’s gifts. He didn’t even have money to throw around.
“You're taking me on a picnic with all my favorite foods, remember?” Ben said grinning at Mal expectantly.
“Err. No, that's Thursday” Mal grinned chuckling.
“It is Thursday” Ben chuckled.
“No. No, it's not” Mal said face falling.
“Yes, it is.”
“No, it's not!” Mal insisted determined.
“It is” Ben said gently.
“Fuck. Fuck. I knew that” Mal said trying to smile reassuringly.
“I mean, if you don't have it, that's fine” Ben said with a reassuring smile
“No, no, no. I was fully messing with you!” Mal insisted, panic welling up inside his tummy. “I knew it was Thursday. I just have one more thing to go bake, and then I am all yours” Mal said with his best seductive smile and let his finger run down Ben’s buttons. Poking where flesh was beginning to poke through.
“Well, what about class?” Ben grinned.
“Please I can dabble” Mal said dismissively.
“He dabbles” Ben grinned cupping Mal’s cheek and kissing it affectionately.
“He dabbles.” Mal bit his lip blushing.
“You're the best!” Ben grinned patting Mal’s belly affectionately. Proud that he’d plumped his boyfriend so considerably.
“That's me!” Mal grinned trying desperately to not let the panic show, as he needed to get to the Kitchen and fast.
Mal had considered just going to Beefy Burger and getting a large spread. Ben would eat it, anything that dripped in grease was heavenly to him. But after the bike, and well the news Mal had. It had to be special.
He wanted Ben to remember the day he was told that he would be a Daddy. He could already picture Ben’s overwhelmed face. Happy that Mal was going to swell with the Kings Heir. A chubby little Ben Jr. That would be a cute name if it turned out to be a boy of course.
To get the picnic ready, Mal used his spell book. Transforming food into something else had an art. It couldn’t be the basic ingredients, it had to be something assembled by hand. Not from scratch, but enough effort for the magic to work. Mal went with PB and J sandwiches. It was enough of an effort for the spell to work.
Mal had chosen a spot in the Royal Botanical Gardens. A small lagoon with flowers and plays, the whole place smelt sweet and aromatic.
“Would you like a hot horse d'oeuvre?” Mal said holding out a tasty morsel. Honestly. He didn’t know what half the stuff he’d conjured. He just flipped through a cookbook and chose whatever was from the list he’d looked up on the internet. “Yes, please.” Ben grinned eating out of Mal’s fingers. Sauce dripping down hips lips. “Mmm! This is the best thing I've ever had.”
“So, you like it?”
“I more than like it. I, uhh mmm so like it” Ben nodding chewing.
Mal smiled, and served up a container infront of Ben. “Beef ragout?” He encouraged.
“Yeah. This is amazing” Ben said sticking his hand in and shoving a handful in. Not caring seemingly in the least about cutlery. Piggy Ben was one of Mal’s favourite things.
“Did I surprise you?” Mal grinned.
“Oh, yeah, you surprised me. This is every single dish Mrs. Potts made for my mother. What did it take you? Three days?” Ben asked enthusiastically.
You know, don't even ask me” Mal said trying to laugh it off.
“Yeah. Well, it means a lot that you stopped and did all this for me” Ben grinned as he scooped up the container of Ragout and poured it into his mouth. Chewing messily, Ben was doing it because he knew full well Mal would mount him if continued like this. “And especially with all the craziness you've been put through. I've missed you. We don't get much time to be just us anymore...” Ben said honestly.
“I know. I see you in bed. And not even then sometimes” Mal sighed.
Ben leaned back and unleashed an almighty Belch that made the table shake. “URRRRRRRRRRRRRP......You can't take me anywhere, right?”
“I don’t mind. You know that” Mal grinned.
“Do you have a-- Do you have a napkin or something?” Ben suggested licking his fingers.
“I do! I packed some.” Mal said bending down and sliding his bag towards him.
Mal flipped open the bag and riffling around in it. The spell book clearly shoved in there. Ben’s eyes narrowed.
“I think I stowed them away. I can grab them” Mal said realising he’d left them to the side. He put his bag down and stood up grabbing them from the nearby bench. “See got them.”
“What's this?” Ben said holding up the spell book between his fat sausage like fingers.
“I actually threw that in there super last-minute in case it rained or...” Mal stammered panicked. Ben however noticed the post it notes that Mal had used to mark various pages.
“‘Speed reading’ spell. ‘Blonde hair’ spell. ‘Cooking’ spell. And I was giving you props for fitting in so well, for doing your best” Ben frowned frustration eminently clear. As he noted the pages marked with post-it’s.
Mal felt his stomach sink. He raised his hand combatively. “Take back this moment that has passed. Return it! Reverse it!”
“Mal!” Ben growled. “Are you trying to spell me right now?!” He said standing up, shirt buttons straining.
“Ben, it has been so hard for me!” Mal said collapsing into a chair. He wasn’t an Auradon kid, he hadn’t taken to it as easily as the others. But even they didn’t have to put up with everything he did.
“Yes! Some things are hard! Do you think learning to be king has been easy for me?” Ben insisted frustrated.
“No!” Mal replied snappily.
“I thought we were doing this together!” Ben said crossing his arms.
“Ben, we are in this together” Mal said trying not scream in frustration.
“But we're not, Mal. We're not.” Ben said coldly. His words stung. “Y-You've been keeping secrets and lying to me. I thought we were done with that. This isn't the Isle of the Lost, Mal..”
“Yeah. Believe me, I fucking know that!” Mal muttered bitterly.
“Then why are you doing this?” Ben said gesturing to the table.
“Because!” Mal started then felt pain shoot through his abdomen. Strong. Bad pain. A feeling he knew horrifyingly well. Mal’s heart sunk. This really had gone wrong. “I'm not one of those pretty princes, Ben. I'm not one of those lords from the Court. I'm a big fake, okay? I'm fake. This is fake” He ran his fingers through his blonde hair. “This is fake!” He pointed to the spread of food. “Take this feast, this sumptuous meal, return it back to what is real” In moments the food changed back into a rather large pile of Sandwiches. “This is who I really am! Are you happy!” Mal said trying to stay confident. But the pain was making him tear up. “Boring. Boring and plain.”
“Mal” Ben said quietly.
“No. No” Mal said gritting his teeth, he shoved the spell book back in his bag. And stormed off away from the Royal Gazebo. “I’m done. Fuck this.”
“Peanut butter and jam is my favorite!” Ben yelled after him stuffing a sandwich into his mouth.
Mal let out a frustrated whimper and sprinted towards the nearest toilet. Alone in The cubicle Mal sobbed, he grabbed a handful of toilet paper and wiped his ass. Blood. He was misscarrying, again.
Fucking Perfect. Mal could never be happy. That was eminently clear.
Chapter 2
Mal found himself at the end of the Alley. A tall abandoned warehouse loomed either side, a staircase barred by a metal cage like gate preventing all entering. Mal smiled and picked up a stone and piffed it at the sign which swung back. With a creaking of chains the metal gate started to rise. Mal headed up the stairs, hearing the gate slam back down, he undid his leather jacket and let his belly sag out.
Even his own body reminded him of Ben. He walked to the stop of the stairs and walked in through what was once a fire exit.
The lair, where he and Evie, Carlos and Jay had hung out and even slept in before Auradon, it was like home. More like home than Bargin Castle felt anyway.
“Who’s there. This is my turf” Barked a gravely voice in the darkness.
“Fuck off It is not. This is my turf” Mal replied as he flicked a switch on a metal column and all the lights switched on.
“There’s lights here?” Fien blinked rubbing his eyes. “I’ve been using candles...”
“This is my Hideout Fien” Mal said crossing his arms petulantly.
“You went to Auradon. What was I supposed to do. Hmm?” Fien said leaning forward. “Mom, never came back.”
“Well...” Mal winced then remembered he put his backpack on a chair. He pulled out a plastic reptile container. “Now mom’s back see..”
Fien raised an eyebrow.
“So mom. Might have become the size of the love in her heart” Mal explained. Fien walked over and prodded the tank it. “I think this confirms neither of us were her favourites.”
“How do you know it’s not some random lizard?”
“Because I saw it happen idiot” Mal said rolling his eyes. “I missed you, I thought about you a lot, when I came back recently I tried to find you. Check on you...but, I had stuff on.” Mal said, he knew it was a shit excuse.
Fien barreled at him and hugged him, “your not leaving again are you?”
“No.”
“But King Ben?” Fien asked.
“Not worth talking about” Mal dismissed.
“Can I talk about this then?” Fien said jiggling Mal’s chubby plump stomach. “Why you fat now. Does Auradon do that make you fat?”
“Kind of yeah. Although In my case Dating King Ben makes you fat” Mal smirked.
“Does this make you a princess?”
“I can still absolutely beat you up” Mal replied cracking his nuckles.
“Pft. So are the others coming back?” Fien said sitting on one of the old couches.
“No.”
“Why are you back?” Fien asked honestly.
Mal sighed and sat down on the couch. “I fell pregnant. And I lost the baby. I couldn’t handle it all and I lost the one good thing that was holding me together” Mal said tearing up, and he started to cry. Fien hugged Mal.
“I’m sorry Mal. Does King Ben know?”
Mal shook his head, “No. I was going to surprise him. But....then I lost it...and him?”
Fien nodded and hugged Mal tightly. “It’s okay. Your home now. We also need to do something about your hair.”
Mal looked at him wiping the tears away, “What’s wrong with my hair?” He frowned.
“I’m the blonde one. You have purple hair. We can’t both be blonde. We pinky swore.”
“You were five when we made that promise.” Mal laughed a little and cuddled Fien tighter. “Fine. What would you suggest?”
“Curl up and dye, I’ve got a friend who works there” Fien explained.
“Lady Tremaines Place. God, I’d rather not” Mal winced.
“She’ll be teaching at Dragon Hall. Come on” Fien said standing up, tugging on Mal’s arm. “You were her favourite student anyway.”
“Not anymore I’d imagine.”
“Dizzy owes me one” Fien said pushing open the door, to ‘Tremaine’s Curl up and Dye.’
“Why does that concern me?”
“Oh gross. No she has boobs. That’s disgusting. No I mean I give her notes on Dragon Hall Classes” Fien said grimacing.
“Alright. You like boys. Not that surprising when you consider our Parents” Mal commented wryly. He’d forgotten how much he missed this. “Don’t sleep with Harry...”
“Mal. I have taste? I slept with Zevon?”
Mal grimaced. “Is this before or after he attempted to possess me...”
“After?” Fien commented uncertain. “When did he possess you?”
“Three months back” Mal pushed open the door.
“Oh definitely after.”
“I’m making a rule. No sleeping with my enemies.”
“Then I’ll never get laid. Most of the Isle hates you” Fien commented. Mal ignored him, and looked around the hairdresser. It looked like paint cans had exploded everywhere. Including over Dizzy, one of Lady Tremaines granddaughters. Her hair was balled up into two bunches, and a pair of glasses. A paint splattered dress, and a green apron covered in paint. Music was blaring in the background, it sounded like Auradon Radio.
“Mal! Is Evie back too?” Dizzy said looking up. A broad toothy grin on her plump face.
“As if.” Mal snorted, he then noticed the sign on the counter that had the opening hours, with the word. ‘Bugger off until Midnight.
“I, um, forgot that you guys don't open till midnight” Fien winced. “We can come back.”
“It’s okay” Dizzy smiled at Fien.
“Place looks good. So what is your deal? Has your grandmother given you any customers yet?” Mal asked curiously. Looking around.
“Ah, just a witch here and there. Mostly, it's a lot of scrubbing and scouring and sweeping. Lots and lots of sweeping” Dizzy commented trying not to sound disheartened.
“Sounds like the old Cinderella treatment, eh?” Mal grinned.
“Yeah, she's gone from Wicked Stepmother to Wicked Grandmother” Dizzy said leaning her broom against the counter.
“That's not really much of a switch” Fien commented.
“Oh! If it helps. Cinderella’s son is a massive douchebag” Mal commented “Hey, Dizzy, you used to do Evie’s hair, right? Because the colour was always on point.”
Dizzy smiled gently, “Yeah. I thought of the little braids.”
Mal grinned and leaned his elbows on the counter. “You have any ideas for me?”
Dizzy considered and examined Mal’s current hair curiously. “Mm. The washed-out blonde with purple tips? The best of no worlds. You can't see where your face ends and your hair begins!” Mal stared, the girl was shadier than he expected. She led him over to a chair and sat down. Trying not to think about what he hoped was red paint spattered on the arm rest. “Oh, what is this, ‘Bored to Death Pink’?” Dizzy said examining his fingernails. “At least you don’t bite them like Fien.”
“Oh I do. Evie made me get acrylics to stop myself from doing it” Mal commented. As Dizzy spun him around in a chair.
“Hmm. How far can I go?” She asked with a curious smirk, as she set her eyes on the possiblities.
“The works? I mean, whatever makes me feel like me, but, you know… way worse” Mal insisted, it was time to be Wicked again, except better.
“Yay!” Dizzy grinned.
“I’ll meet you back at the hideout. I’m not watching you make a girl of yourself” Fien smirked. Mal gave him the finger. As he wandered out.
With a flourish Dizzy produced a coloured smock and wrapped it over Mal’s shoulders. The chair was wrenched back and his head was pressed back into a bowl as warm, and semi dirty water was pumped out. Most of the water on the Isle had to be boiled at least twice before consuming. Mal was certain Lady Tremaine was no different.
Still Dizzy got to work, dying Mal’s hair a Majenta colour, giving it a trim around the back and sides and giving him a blow wave, which gave his thick hair a playful bounce. As Mal examined his reflection in a broken mirror, he couldn’t help but be impressed. “Hey! There I am.”
“Voila!” Dizzy beamed proud of her handiwork.
“Voila” Mal agreed pulling some money out of his jacket.
“For me?” Dizzy gaped as she stared at it.
“Uhh obviously. You earned it” Mal said hopping up. Dizzy scurried over to the register and popped it in. Mal pulled out his last piece of chewing gum and pushed it into his mouth, it tasted of grape.
The bell on the door rang out and a figure lumbered in. A fat sphere like gut lumbered in, a tattered ripped shirt that allowed folds of blubber to bulge through. Three or four belts were around just unseen his round middle. A long dark red pirate coat, made out of patches of leather hung open. Unable to do up. His dark hair was messy and his eyes were covered in black eye makeup. In his left hand he was holding a polished silver hook that had a metal handle. Harry Hook, the second of Captain Hook’s three children. And also his Ex.
Harry seemingly uninterested gestured his hook towards Dizzy. “Fork it over, you runt.” Dizzy whimpered and pulled out the money Mal had given her. “Now the rest of it. Hmm.” Harry growled his eyes noting Mal’s presence. As Dizzy shoved a handful more notes into his hand. “Thank you. Mm-hmm.”
“Still running errands for Uma, or do you actually get to keep what you steal?” Mal commented folding his arms. As he looked Harry up and down, he had certainly gotten fatter, an impressive feat on the Isle.
“Well, well, well. What a nice surprise” Harry said with a sick Cheshire grin. As his eyes noticed Mal’s plump bulging belly.
“Hello Harry” Mal said mustering all the unimpressed disinterest he could muster.
Harry grinned and rubbed his hook over Mal’s belly. “Trouble in Paradise. I’ll have to thank King Ben for fattening you up” Harry said his hands groping Mal forwardly. Mal tried to pull away, but Harry held firm. “Just wait until Uma hears you're back. She's never gonna give you back your old territory.”
“Oh, well, that's okay. Because I will be taking it” Mal smirked trying trying to push his hands off him.
“I could hurt you” Harry grinned gripping Mal’s chin in his fat palm. Mal could already tell he was imagining bending him over the counter.
“Not without her permission, I bet.” Mal said trying not to show pain.
Harry growled and Mal was shoved against a wall and a tongue was forced down his throat. Harry was firm and determined. When he pulled away he was still using his gut to Pin Mal against the wall. “You might have had your fun with the King. But your mine. Especially considering you’ve become a tubby little pig” Harry smirked.
Mal spat a gob of saliva in Harry‘s face. “Go fuck yourself. Or better. Use that hook of yours as a butt plug.”
Harry shoved Mal hard. Then let go, walking straight towards the counter and knocking all the bottles and containers onto the floor, Mal was very aware he had a lucky escape. He frowned and pressed his tongue around his mouth, Harry had stolen his gum. The Asshole
Dizzy sighed looking at the mess. “Great. More sweeping.”
“Sorry about him, I’ll give you a hand” Mal offered automatically.
Dizzy frowned at Mal confused. “It’s fine..”
❧
Mal kicked up a stone, as he held the plastic bag of barely edible takeout. It was the problem with the isle, all the good food went through Captain Hook. He would distribute it out for a price, and if he didn’t like you then scraps would look edible in comparison.
It was one of the advantages of dating Harry, it had gotten him better food. For a while and then things fell apart. Mal shook his head, he wouldn’t dredge all that up again. He couldn’t. It was bad enough with Harry acting like he was a piece of his property versus an independent person.
Mal grabbed a stone and lobbed it at the sign. It swung and a gate creaked open, he climbed up the metal stairs up to the hideout. “Fien I brought food”
“Oh yeah?” Fien snorted. “Did you steal it.” Mal hesitated. “You’ve gone soft.”
“I wasn’t aware growing as a person was considered getting soft” Mal replied. “But if you don’t want it. I’ll eat it.”
“Tubby.”
“Suck a fat one Fien” Mal glared as he placed the bag down and began getting the takeaway out. It was cooked almost burnt. But at least that got rid of any mould. They ate in silence.
“Your hair looks loads better” Fien said sitting down beside Mal. “Your tummy is so round. Fuck how much do you eat.”
Mal smirked. “A lot, Ben he’s big on snacks, so we’ll eat in bed. Or during sex” He admitted, “Urrrrrrrrrrrrrrppp” Mal belched suddenly. “I forgot how gassy Isle food is.”
“Yeah, I’ll get you some water” Fien said feeling Mal’s belly curiously. “So would you ever get back with Harry?”
“Fuck no. He was an asshole to me. To...” Mal trailed off. “He wasn’t good for me. I’d rather date Gaston Jr. They were hung like horses weren’t they?” Mal wondered out loud.
“Probably, Their Cock’s are incredibly thick like Gaston’s!” Fien sang as he poured the contents of a paper satchel into the water. It was the only way to drink Isle water without getting sick.
Mal laughed, and relaxed drinking the water. “Maybe you and I should start a gang together. Perhaps annoy Dad into giving us respect?”
“Don’t bother. Tried it wouldn’t even answer the door. Sent you know who out” Fien said looking at Mal. “So the first good relationship you have in Auradon you get pregnant.”
“It’s not that simple. What Ben and I had was complicated” Mal muttered, “and he’s sweet. He has expectations but not in a I’m going to punish you kind of way..”
“And you broke up with him?” Fien said horrified.
“It was just a lot okay. I was becoming overwhelmed. Okay. I can’t do this Fien” Mal trailed off. “I don’t need to relieve all my fuck ups.”
“I kind of want too” Fien grinned.
Mal soured and whacked him playfully.

Mal woke up sore, back aching and arm asleep. He’d fallen asleep on a mattress, arm protectively around Fien. It was a habit from when they were children.
He sat up and rubbed his eyes and rubbed his stomach, he knew this was a bad idea and yet. He was uncertain if he could cope with all the expectations Auradon had of him.
Mal got up and fished around through some of the old clothes he’d once stored here and found one of his old cropped t-shirts. He pulled it on, not caring that his chubby belly was hanging out. Mal pulled on his leather jacket and tucked the blanket around Fien. He would get them food and start there.
He heard noise and footsteps on the staircase, Mal steadied himself and grabbed a knife and a spray can ready to defence himself with. But then he heard the wheezing, the familiar out of breath groans as Ben heaved himself up the staircase. Mal felt his stomach lurch, as Ben rounded the corner.
Mal turned away not wanting to look at him, he would break and began spraying onto an old portrait of Ben he’d painted. Long before he’d gone to Auradon.
“At least I don't see a picture of me with horns and a pitch fork” Ben commented light hearted.
“Give me time, Ben” Mal replied quietly, trying to protect his heart.
Ben waddled closer his plump hand reaching out and holding Mal’s side his fingers pressing into his soft stomach “Mal, I'm so sorry about our fight. It was all my fault. It-- Please come home” His large gut pressed into Mal’s back. Mal wanted to lean into it, cuddle against his enormous bulk. Instead he pulled away turning to Ben.
It almost broke Mal, to see how heartbroken Ben looked. He took an unsteady breath. “Ben” he started, “I am home, my brother is here. I can’t just abandon him again.” Mal glanced to where Fien slept,
“I brought the limo.” Ben smiled grinning. “It's a sweet ride” he waggled his eyebrows.
Mal found himself struggling to not smile at Ben. To mask his emotions, and hide away, “I don't fit in, Ben. I really gave it my best shot. And if you think that I can change, I think you're wrong” Mal said honestly. He felt his eyes welling up and turned away before Ben could see him crying.
“Then I'll change. I'll skip school, have more fun” Ben put his hand on my shoulder. “You know, I-I'll blow off some of my responsibilities”
“No, no! See? I'm such a terrible fucking influence” Mal swore frustrated. “You don’t understand.”
Fien stirred in the bed and sat up his blonde hair a mess. “Would you stop yell…woah King Ben is even fatter in real life than he is on television” Fien smirked.
Ben’s face lit up, “is this your little brother. Oh Mal he’s adorable!” Ben said as suddenly swept Fien into a hug against his gut.
“Ben” Mal said flatly.
“Mal. This is your brother you’ve talked about him so much. And look it’s like a mini you” Ben said enthusiastically.
“I’m not adorable. Or a mini him” Fien protested trying to pull away.
“I second that” Mal said folding his arms, “Ben you’ll just antagonise him.”
“I will happily fight you tubs” Fien said jiggling Ben’s gut. “You know fat is his type right? He loves them fat. So did you tell him about you being pregnant yet?” Fien said with a wicked grin.
“Asshole” I hissed at him.
“Your pregnant?” Ben said staring in shock. He let go of Fien and embraced me. “Mal that’s…so…”
“Ben. I was pregnant. Key word being was” I said moving his hand from my stomach.
Ben frowned and then he realised, “Oh…Mal” he looked heartbroken and he led me to a sofa which creaked under his weight as he pulled me down onto it. “You could have told me?”
“I was going to. That’s why I was organising the picnic” Mal sighed. “I just wanted everything to be perfect. Because I was going to have the kings Baby.”
“Mal” Ben said his hands gripping Mal’s tighter. “Was this why you came here? Because you miscarried.”
Mal couldn’t answer. Ben sighed and kissed him on the forehead. “Mal I love you. The People love you, don’t you love me? Why would you keep this from me?”
“Because I’m a VK. I’ve miscarried before. What if I’m not meant too” Mal said his eyes tearing up. “What if I’m broken that way.”
Ben looked horrified, and hugged him. “Couples share their burden. You shouldn’t have kept this from me. I could have supported you”
“I…I’m sorry Ben. I have to take myself out of the picture because it's what's best for you, and it's what's best for Auradon.” Mal said trying to be strong, the tears still going down his cheeks.
“Stop it both of you” Fien said shaking his head. “Mal if you won’t let yourself be vulnerable then why are you even in a relationship. Because all your going to do is hurt yourself, and end up like Mum”
Mal turned aghast. “I am not.”
“Prove me wrong. Are you with Ben because you love him? Or because you like the idea of him. Because we only exist because Mother liked the idea of what being with father would mean. They never loved each other.”
“Or us” Mal said quietly. He started to sob and pressed against Ben. “I’m sorry..” he said hugging his gut.
“I’m the one who’s sorry not you. Your just stubborn” Ben reassured rubbing Mal’s back. “So you’ll come home. I can organise a place at the academy for your brother?”
“Fien” Fien corrected.
“Your name is actually Fien?”
“It’s short for Fiendish” Fien explained.
“Fiendish and Malice. I suppose it’s a change from Hope or Charity.” Ben grinned.
“You didn’t come alone did you?” Mal asked curiously.
“No. Jay, Evie and Carlos are downstairs” Ben smiled.
“Really? Sweet I’ll go grab them” Fien smirked. “So you too can finish kissing and making out.”
Mal shook his head, “are you sure you want to invite him to Auradon?”
“I can hear you!” Fien yelled back. Ben grinned at Mal kissing his cheek, “I ought to fatten you up so you can’t leave me.”
Mal blushed a little turned on by Ben’s suggestion. Ben’s hand traced over Mal’s belly, “you’ve made me so fat. Even my ex noticed…”
“You ran into Harry?” Ben frowned.
“Yeah. He came onto me” Mal admitted. “I told him no.”
“Good” Ben smiled, “I want you all to myself. Your all I need…” he hugged Mal against his tremendous gut.
“Mhmm. I like you in all this leather. Makes you look like a bad boy..”
“Oh come on…do you two always have to make out” Carlos puffed waddling. Like Mal, Carlos too had swelled up. His freckled face round and wider with a prominent double chin. His body carried his weight differently from Mal. A fat belly spilled out, heavy and falling into his lap while a pair of moobs had appeared like a dominant roll of fat.
“Leave them alone it’s sweet” Evie insisted.
“Your just jealous he’s getting some” Jay grinned. An arm around Fien pressing him against the pot belly that was rapidly growing under his leather vest, “come on squirt..”
“Stop it” Fien grunted and struggled.
“Let him go” Mal said Ben rubbing his belly warmly. He’d missed this, the closeness they had in their private moments.
“We’ll try again soon, and if your still worried we’ll take you to the best doctors okay?” Ben said calmly.
“Mal? What’s wrong are you Ill?” Evie asked frowning.
“Pft. He just miscarried and now he’s a moody cow” Fien said bluntly.
“I’ll show you moody cow” Mal growled trying to stand up but Ben kept him close. Rubbing his belly tenderly.
Carlos belly rumbled loudly, “I’m so hungry, but I also don’t want gastro.”
“Fien and I had burgers that were edible. Burnt but edible” Mal pointed out. Fien raised an eyebrow at him. “We’ll I thought they were edible.”
Fien was distracted by a flash of something downstairs. Not the others noticed.
“Let’s head back. I don’t want to run into my mother” Carlos shuddered. “She’ll have a fit when she see’s me.”
“Maybe she won’t recognise you chubs” Jay teased.
“It would be nice to see if they’re okay” Evie hesitated.
Suddenly all the lights went out. “Alright who didn’t pay the electric bill?” Ben joked.
Before anyone had a chance to reply, there was a roar of noise and eight or nine figures burst in the room. “Get him” came the voice of Harry. Although Mal couldn’t see him in the darkness. His instinct was to use fire but this place was a hazard waiting to happen. Ben stayed close his hand gripped tight around Mal’s wrist.
Jay began to punch someone, Carlos was squealing as a fight broke off.
“Touch me, and you loose” Evie warned firmly.
Mal felt Ben wrenched away. Ben protested and struggled, but there was a thump and he fell silent. Mal’s breath hitched as he heard them leave.
Evie switched the lights back on.
Two pirates lay unconscious on the floor. While Jay had gripped Carlos by the cuff of his shirt and about to punch him.
“At least we got two of them” Mal commented.
“I got two. You just stood there” Evie teased.
“I was defending Ben” Mal said frowning. He looked around a little thrown. “Where’s Fien?”
Jay looked around. “Ok! Fiendish get your ass back here.” There was no reply.
“They’re waking up” Carlos said.
“Then pin them down fat ass” Jay said slapping Carlos ass.
Carlos sat on one of the pirates chest. He groaned under the weight.
“Mal sit on him” Jay pointed to the other pirate.
“Excuse me?” Mal protested.
“Do it!” Jay insisted. “Your fatter than Carlos.”
Mal rolled his eyes and sat on the other pirates chest, he also groaned. “I’m not that fat…”
“Yes you are” Came a wheezing reply from one of the pirates.
“Tell me where you took Ben and Fien!” Mal glared.
“We didn’t take Fien. He’s one of us” he coughed.
“And Ben? Where is he?” Mal warned, her eyes flashing green.
“Uma has him” The pirate said wriggling underneath him. “Don’t hurt me.”
“So Fien is apart of Uma’s gang?” Evie asked.
“And sold us out” Mal said firmly. “I’m going to kill him.”
❧
The gentle creaking of the ships hull was almost relaxing against the sound of water sloshing against it. The Brig of the Jolly Roger had seen better days, what was once a bed suspended by two chains had rusted from misuse, and so the board hung limply. The mattress slipping onto the floor. There was a bucket in one corner that Ben guessed the use for. While the cast iron bars were black and brown as they were rusting slowly, the dark line that was over waist height on every wall suggested that at somepoint the boat had flooded. Perhaps before it been brought to the isle.
Ben didn’t know that much about the story of Peter Pan, so much of that tale had been lost. Even Peter himself was more of a myth these days. Captain Hook at least according to his fathers words was a drunken crazy, known for his blinkered determination to control Neverland. He’d been one of the first villains exiled to the isle of the lost. He had gone willingly.
“Can I get some food! Or water!” Ben called out.
A trapdoor at the top of a ladder opened up and a head looked in. Blonde hair with purple streaks poked its head over although they were mostly hidden by a purple bandana. “Your a prisoner…”
“Yep. You do realise prisoners are usually still fed” Ben replied sharply. He hadn’t eaten since they arrived on the isle and he was getting really hungry.
The trapdoor closed and it was quiet. A candle that sat in a glass lantern flickered, sitting on a stool just out of his reach. He had tried. Ten dull minutes passed until the trap door once again opened. Fien climbed down the stairs carefully holding a tray with a goblet of water and some stale bread.
“Step back from the door” Fien insisted.
Ben didn’t move. “Do you have a weapon to threaten me with?”
“No…I’m not allowed to carry a sword. I don’t have a sword licence”
“Is that like a pen licence?” Ben asked. “I wasn’t allowed one because I would chew my pencils.”
“You have to get a licence to hold a pen? Auradon is weird” Fien frowned.
Ben grinned, “you know I could just overpower you. I think you need a weapon to threaten me with. Keep me in my place” Ben encouraged.
Fien frowned, scratching his neck. “Stop making this complicated!” He snapped frustrated. “I’m trying to give you food…”
“Ohhh. I’m not actually that hungry. I wanted to get you here to talk” Ben admitted pulling a chocolate bar from his leather jacket.
“You want to talk” Fien scoffed.
“I do” Ben nodded. “Your my boyfriend’s brother. He’s talked so much about you, I want to get to know you.”
Fien looked conflicted. “Your in a cage. Your Uma’s prisoner.”
“Uh huh. Doesn’t mean we can’t talk? No harm in talking?” Ben pointed out unwrapping the chocolate bar. “Mal worries about you?”
“So. He abandoned me” Fien said his eyes being drawn to the chocolate bar before snapping back to Ben.
“He didn’t abandon you” Ben replied, “he can’t just visit you.”
“Why not?”
“Because after the barrier was established. Mal, Jay, Evie and Carlos were the first people to leave the isle” Ben admitted. “Coming and going isn’t easy, and frankly is a lot of paperwork.”
“What about CJ and Freddie?” Fien replied.
“CJ is a wanted fugitive. And well that was also a genies fault.”
“A genie?” Fien frowned.
“Long story” Ben said as he took a bite from the chocolate bar. He couldn’t help but notice Fien was watching it enraptured. Ben started chewing with his mouth open, and sure enough Fien was still watching. Fien was picking at the stale bread. “Is it okay if you eat that.”
“You just avoid the green bits, and hope you don’t get sick” Fien shrugged.
“Really?”
“You take what you can get on the isle. We gets Auradons scraps” Fien muttered, “even then Captain Hook controls all the food.”
“It’s why you joined Uma’s gang”
“Because if I didn’t I would starve” Fien said quietly.
“Doesn’t Dragon Hall feed you?” Ben questioned.
“Dragon Hall doesn’t care about us. Only that we become the evilest Villains” Fien replied.
Ben frowned, “I probably should do something about that. But they also teach basic literacy…” he muttered to himself before taking another bite of the chocolate bar. Fien let out a little whine. “Would you like to try some?”
Fien nodded licking his lips.
Ben grinned and broke off a piece and held it out through the bars.
Fien stuffed it into his mouth. His eyes widened in awe, “Woah.”
Ben grinned, “We have heaps of it back in Auradon.” Fien huffed. “There is a place for you. Mal wants you safe, and I want Mal happy”
“You don’t care about any of us. Mal is no different” Fien said steeling himself.
Ben laughed, “Mal misses you. He talks about you and fears anything happening to you. There are times we’re he wakes up screaming your name because he’s had nightmares about something happening to you.”
“He does?” Fien hesitated the facade dropping away.
“He went back to the isle a few months ago. And he was so worried about you. He spent every free moment searching for you, he was terrified. You don’t understand how much you hurt him, when he had to find out From Gaston Jr, that you didn’t want to see him. He cried in my arms, he couldn’t believe that you’d hurt him so bad.”
“He didn’t mention” Fien mumbled guilty.
“Of course he didn’t. He can barely open up to me, this place forced all of you develop this hard shell and never open your feelings” Ben said frustrated. “None of you talk to each other and every chance you get you lash out at one another.”
Fien didn’t answer he just stood silent. “What about you? Your hurt Mal? What about how he was crying after you fought? Over magic?” Fien replied.
“I apologised” Ben replied honestly. “I know I screwed up, but Mal, magic we don’t use it. It’s not against the law it’s just discouraged.”
“Mal and I aren’t human. Magic is in our very souls. Why would you try to stop that?” Fien asked.
“Because it’s all I know, and I guess I’m scared that Mal will rely on it too much” Ben said shuffling his feet. “I guess we both have some growing to do”
“Yeah” Fien shrugged.
“There’s a place for you at the court. The offer is there” Ben said honestly.
A cruel haughty laugh hung in the air above them. “Don’t listen to him Fien. He might be king but he will never give you respect” Black boots with worn leather straps and silver buckles descended the narrow ladder. A large fat gut covered in a worn red velvet coat forced itself through the narrow trapdoor. Wheezing and grunting, as his movement stopped.
Fien sighed. “Are you stuck Captain?”
“Just catching my breath. Give a pull on my leg. Just don’t rip the coat” Captain Hook called. Ben suppressed his amusement, although he was aware that being at least under pounds smaller. Fien walked over and tugged on Hooks leg, nothing happened. “Harder boy. Harder!”
Ben was never one to laugh at dirty jokes, but under the circumstances it was very difficult to keep it cool and not laugh.
❧
Mal after a lot of arguing managed to convince the gang to stay behind. They were all happy to go all guns blazing. But Uma well, between Uma and Harry and their shared histories. A more delicate touch was needed.
The less complicated this situation became the better. But given Fien’s apparent alliance, and Ben’s ‘Kidnapping.’ This was going to be very complicated.
He went to shipwreck alley. Which was more of a boardwalk than an alley. Where a half a dozen sunken galleons, a couple of which had been upturned completely. The jolly Rodger was at the centre of it, and the one ship that could manage to sail anywhere. If the isle wasn’t trapped by a barrier.
Still it was impressive, he could still remember Harry fucking him on the grand king sized bed in the captains quarters. The memory hurt now, because it was tainted with the hurt and the flaws.
Mal sighed and took a deep breath, steeling himself. He looked at the almost cartoonish depiction of Ursula. The irony wasn’t lost on Mal, ‘Fish and Chips.’ Although the fish wasn’t that appetising most of it batter to make up for the merger fish offerings to the isle.
There was a loud din inside. No doubt Uma’s gang running wild, given the quite serenity of the ship. Realistically Mal was aware Ben was no doubt stashed there. But Uma deserved her chance to explain, Mal expected the same courtesy had he kidnapped Uma’s boyfriend.
He pushed open the saloon doors. “I’m baack” Mal said sarcastically as he stood servaying the restaurant.
Uma stood in the centre, an apron tied around her waist and a tray in her hand. “Loser party of one, right this way please” she gestured to a table. Uma kicked a chair over toward Mal. Which he caught effortlessly “With that attitude no wonder you don’t get any tips” Mal commented trying to look confident, trying not to waddle. He picked up a chair and span it around sitting it astride.
Uma lingered watching him, eyeing him.
“Place still stinks, never could stomach battered rotten fish?” He asked flatly .
“I’m sorry we’re down a butler today?” Uma scowled “Prince.”
“You know exactly what I want. Ben and Fien” Mal said simply. “I don’t appreciate being ambushed. I thought better of you.”
Uma straightened and took off her apron dropping it on the table. Mal groaned inwardly, she was going to lecture him. “You know, I’ve dreamed of this. You wanting something from me and me and me watching you squirm like a worm on a hook.”
“I’m so flattered you dream of me, I hope they made you wet. Nothing else here would” Mal scowled. He should have just gone and rescued Ben. Stupid honour, it was the isle.
Uma slammed her hands on the table, “Obviously” she glared at him. Mal couldn’t help but notice her braids were fraying. “You have your perfect little life don’t you.”
Mal held his tongue, there was no point rising to her bait, that’s all she wanted.
“Doesn’t he have the perfect little life?” Uma called out to the restaurant. The various warfers and prostitutes trying to eat dinner. “And we’re twenty years into a garbage strike”
Mal was done he was already bored, “Uma if you have some vendetta against me then game on. But you never should have brought Fien into this.”
Uma grinned like a cat, “It might be unnecessary. But it is so much fun, here’s the deal.”
Mal rolled his eyes and laughed leaning back on the chair. “Just like your mother always a catch. How is your dear mother by the way?”
“She’s fine” Uma said simply sitting down. “Not that you’ve never cared.” Uma raised an arm up, “If you win, Ben and Fien are free to go.” Mal smirked and placed his elbow on the table “Hmm? Don’t you wanna know what I get if I win?”
“Not particularly?” Mal said confidently feeling Uma’s hand grip his tightly.
“Last time I checked your mother thought she had things all sewn up, too huh? How’d that work out for her again?”
Mal glowered and gripped tighter, “On three, one,”
“Two”
“Three.”
The two began it was almost like a duel. Mal had to focus, this was for Ben and Fien. He would definitely give Fien a taking too.
“You know, that whole prince act. Ugh. Never bought it for a second. You can stick a crown on a villain but your still a villain.”
Mal grinned, “and you can stick a pirate hat on but your still shrimpy.”
Uma’s confidence faltered. Mal stared as he slowly pushed her arm to the table. Not blinking never breaking contact, he could feel the magic coursing through him. It was weaker in the isle, but he could still feel it. He was so close, he had this. “If I win you bring me the wand” Uma said through gritted teeth.
It had taken one second, Mal’s concentration had broken, his arm slapped against the table.
Uma grinned at him cocksure, “you’ve gone soft. Literally.” She cheered and the shop erupted around her.
Mal pursed his lips. Fuck, this was worse. So much worse.
“Now” Uma said looming over him. “If you want Beastie Boy and the pipsqueak back. Bring me Fairy Godmother’s wand. To my ship tomorrow at noon. Sharp” Uma tossed her confidently.
“Sea-cow” Mal muttered under his breath.
Uma turned back to him, “and if you blab you can kiss your baby goodbye.”
“Done with your little games?” A harsh raspy voice called.
Uma straightened as a wheelchair rolled out of the kitchen. Dark skin and grey dreadlocked hair that was tied up Ursula was dressed in a purple rags with a white apron over her tentacled legs. She was very fat, and her large stomach still had a large scar across it. Blackening across her belly. From where she’d been impaled by the ship.
“Ursula” Mal said bowing respectfully.
Ursula ignored him. “Get back to work Uma. I have paying customers that need food.”
Mal decided now was a good time to slip away before Mother and Daughter got into a screaming match.

“Okay. Things are much worse” Mal proclaimed arriving back at bargain castle. After the raid at their old hideout, they decided to setup shop at Bargin Castle. Mal had protested but he was overruled.
“How. How exactly did they get worse?“ Carlos frowned emptying the fridge into a garbage bag.
“Are you cleaning” Mal said turning to Carlos.
“I panic clean” Carlos replied through gritted teeth. “And this is place is a mess.”
“Mal, how are things worse?” Jay asked.
“So Uma wants the wand in exchange for Ben and Fien” He said rubbing his temple. “So yeah, things are bad.”
“The wand?” Evie groaned horrified.
“I know. I mean that was our plan. Frankly she could have come up with something more original” Mal huffed.
“Mal. Most of the villains on the isle would also make a play for the wand given a chance” Evie pointed out.
“I still think she should come up with something more original. Next thing you know she’s going to use a love spell on him” Mal said flatly. “Okay he clapped his hands. Ideas…”
“We could make a copy of the wand with Carlos’s 3D printer” Jay exclaimed.
“For about the five billionth time. Not how they work. It would take over a day or so to print the wand, and even then we would have to sand the filament back, before painting it” Carlos said eyes narrowed.
“Okay. So how feasible is it for us to steal the wand again…” Mal started. They all glared at me. “Okay. Plan C? Or B”
“We ask for help?” Evie said honestly.
Mal frowned. “Let’s pin that, Carlos any suggestions?”
He paused and frowned, “Uma still has the boat right?”
“I think it’s technically Harry’s boat. But sure..” Mal nodded agreeing.
“Why don’t we blow a hole in it?” Carlos suggested. “The isle is built on an old shipping district. There’s bound to be a cannon around somewhere” Carlos suggested.
“What’s the oldest part of the isle. Before they dumped a bunch of villains homes on it” Mal said thinking out loud. “Other than catacombs..”
“My mothers castle. She called dibs on it” Evie commented.
“Would there be any cannons left?” Mal asked.
“No. All of that was cleared out” Evie commented.
“Damn. I do like the idea of blowing a hole in the boat though” Mal admitted.
“I have a suggestion. Given the cotillion is tomorrow. We have a very narrow time window to get Ben back in” Evie said. “Why don’t we call for backup. The King has been kidnapped.”
Mal winced, “But then we’re going to be in so much trouble.”
“Technically we were the ones who brought Ben un escorted” Carlos said.
“Oh!” Mal said realising. “I know where to get explosives. We have to go see my Dad..”
“But you don’t talk to your Dad?” Evie said staring.
“Oh I am aware. But desperate times and all that” Mal sighed. “I hate the isle, nothing is ever easy here.”
An hour later the four stood outside what was once a tunnel entrance. There was two metal gates, with sheets of metal that were assembled into a kind of skull face. Hi Above the tunnel the words get lost hung.
“Right. Who brought the bolt cutters?“ Mal asked tugging on the chain.
Jay held up the slightly rusted bolt cutters, and cut the chain. It slipped onto the floor with a thump.
“Should we be concerned about the sign?” Carlos pointed at the ‘Beware the Dog.’
“Cerberus is still in the underworld, Hades wasn’t allowed to bring him to the isle” Evie said. “Olympan Mythology.”
There was a loud growl that echoed from the tunnel.
“How sure are you” Carlos asked timidly.
“We’ll be fine” Mal said walking ahead. They headed deeper and further underground the air cooled. Eventually it opened up to a cavern where the roaring was quite loud. And coming from a record player.
“Idiot” Mal said muttering under his breath as he removed the arm from the record. Which squeaked.
On the couch in a long black leather trench coat. With a pair of black sunglasses was an enormously fat figure. His gut bulged out of his shirt heavy and spilling out his thighs were enormous. His face was moon like with multiple chins and round cheeks his hair spiked up. He had food dried around his lips and stains on his shirt.
“So this is where Mal gets it from” Jay whispered to Carlos.
“Braaaaaaaaaaaaappppppp” Hades belched thunderously. “Your getting fat Mal…”
“Hello Dad” Mal said rolling his eyes.
Hades raised his hand and gestured for Mal to approach him. Mal sighed and walked closer. He lifted a fat arm and squeezed Mal’s love handle exposing his stomach. “I see your growing like your dear Dad” Hades said licking his lips. “Congratulations…”
“Your not dear anything. And why?” Mal said rolling his eyes.
“Your misscarriage, the aroma of death suits you” Hades said dryly. Mal wanted to punch him. “I assume your not here to collect child support payments.”
“No. Dad this is Evie, Carlos and Jay. We have a problem, and I’m hoping you might have a solution” Mal admitted. “Given that your lounging in an old mine, and chance you have any explosives?” Mal said hopefully.
“Why?” Hades said curiously.
“I need to blow a hole in a pirate ship” Mal said honestly.
Hades chuckled his big belly rippled. “No explosives do you really think they’d have left something that dangerous here.”
“I was hoping so yeah” Mal said rolling his eyes.
“Hadie” Hades called out.
A fat waddling boy appeared around a corner. His hair was bright blue and he was broad shouldered, his gut was fat and heavy and resembled a younger hades.
“You remember your twin brother..”
“Half brother” Hadie and Mal said through gritted teeth.
Hades heaved and groaned and puffed until he was sitting up and put his arms out pulling both teen boys against his belly. “My boys. Together” Hades said amused. “Stay Mal, we’ll make you fat and god like…” Hades suggested. “If you go far enough within the catacombs, your magic will work” He said stroking Mal’s cheek with his fat fingers.
“Mal is coming back to Auradon with us” Jay insisted.
“Pretty sure Mal can decide for himself. Right Daddy” Hadie said wryly. “We’ll get you a feeder. Daddy and I sometimes don’t even get up from the couches. We just eat and relax in our own filth..” Hadie smirked. “Worship with us. Your a a Demi god. Stay and worship our father” Hadie said.
Mal considered it for a moment especially how comfortable it felt pressed against Hades fat body. “I….can’t…” Mal hesitated. “My friends. Ben he needs me…Fien needs me…”
Hades grimaced at the mention of Fien. “Your brother…”
“Your other son” Mal replied.
“I only have two sons. My fat boys…” Hades said patting Mal and Hadie’s bellies.
“What?” Mal frowned.
“Your bitch of a mother, became bored with me after you and Hadie were born” Hades said. “She kept you, and I took Hadie. My greedy glutton” Hades said smiling proudly at his son.
“Did he just Mal has a twin!” Carlos gasped.
“Fraternal twin. They aren’t identical…”
“I don’t know, they’re both fat” Jay smirked.
“But you used to fight…I remember” Mal muttered ignoring Jay’s comment.
“Over you. Your mother was seething that you and Hadie were boys, she blamed that on me” Hades admitted. “Fien was her next attempt. However after that ended up with the same result. She was never quite the same, I think it broke her truly” Hades commented. “A pity really, she was brilliant once…”
Mal didn’t answer for a long moment, he had questions. Who was Fien’s father then. But he had to focus, Ben needed him.
“Dad, my boyfriend King Ben has been kidnapped. Uma wants the fairy godmothers wand, and we’re a little out of options.”
“A fairy wand? That’s all you need?” Hades laughed at the simplicity.
“We have heaps of those, I use them as chopsticks” Hadie said joining in the laughter his gut wobbling.
“Stay and be fat with us” Hadie said. He leaned in close and whispered something into Mal’s ear that made him flush bright red.
“My boys” Hades said with a knowing look.
“I can’t” Mal repeated. “The wands. Please dad…”
“Hadie. Show your greedy brother where they are” Hades suggested waving a hand. “They need to wait outside” he pointed at Evie, Jay and Carlos. “Although the tan one can stay if he likes” Hades mused with a devilish smile.
Jay turned a deep red.
“I won’t be long” Mal reassured.
“Fifteen minutes” Evie said firmly.
“Not a second more” Mal smiled wryly.
“Come brother” Hadie said wryly. Mal rolled his eyes and followed Hadie into a tunnel, it sloped down hill, They walked silently.
Truthfully Mal didn’t have a lot to say to him, they barely interacted. He’d seen him in passing in dragon hall. He hadn’t put two and two together that had was his brother. His twin brother. The tunnel was held up by wooden posts and a large metal door was in the wall. With the vault painted on it with Black paint.
“Huh” Mal squinted. “You have a vault. You don’t exactly have riches?”
“We have items of power” Hadie said with a glint in his eye. “Can’t you feel it? Your magic..”
Hadie stretched and cracked his bones. Mal sniffed he could feel magic in the air.
“We’re at the furthest point from the barrier. So magical items are kept down here. So they have some power if needed” Hadie revealed.
“Does that work?” Mal asked flatly.
“No. But would you tell Dad that?” Hadie replied.
“Fair point” Mal grinned, as Hadie bent over and began undoing the safe. It was a cupboard, metal shelves that held junk. One cardboard box marked Wands sat on the top shelve beside other boxes marked Healing gauntlets, cauldrons, magical talismans, power stones. Hadie reached up and grabbed the box marked ‘Wands.’
“Here you go” Hadie said.
“Thanks” Mal said squatting and rifling through the box. Most of the wands were broken or snapped. Some weren’t, “nothing is similar.”
Hadie scoffed, “One of our parents is a fairy while the other is a member of the Olympan pantheon. Use your magic…”
“It’s the isle…” Mal trailed off, as he remembered.
“Not down here” Hadie smiled his blue irises were rings of blue flame now. He grinned at Mal.
Mal smiled and retrieved, his spell book from his pocket, he’d wedged it in tightly. Flicking through the pages until he found the appropriate spell. It had to be permanent, so it wouldn’t wear off as they returned to the surface.
Mal closed his eyes and focused. He muttered the words carefully enunciating each one. Sure enough the wand glowed and it buckled in his hand, pulsing faintly as the surface swelled and shrank and warped until it very closely resembled The fairy godmothers wand. “Wow” Mal said not quite believing it would work.
“Can I make one suggestion?” Hadie said wryly. “If you want to be a little wicked.”
“I’m listening” Mal grinned.
❧
“Wow it looks just like it” Evie marveled.
“Don’t touch it though. It’s fragile” Mal admitted.
“What’s it made of?” Carlos asked leaning in.
“A wand…” Mal said squinting.
Evie’s phone began to ring. “Hi, oh good you got my text”
“Evie” Mal said firmly. Evie raised a hand to silence Mal. “What’s she doing?”
“You won’t like it. So I’m not going to tell you” Carlos winced.
“Right, it’ll take an hour to mobilise? Perfect” Evie said. “We’ll meet you there.” She hung up the phone. “Don’t pout, you know full well we need the help.”
“But it’s Uma. She’s not that much of a threat” Mal muttered. “I wanted to do it my way.”
“I know. But I also think the extra help will useful.”
“Also why an hour?” Mal asked.
“Well because where Uma’s ship is, she’ll see anyone flying from Auradon. Apparently there’s a navy ship in the bay, so they’re going to sail that around the back of the island. And go from there.”
“Actual tactics nice” Mal said. “We have a wand, we just need a plan for before the army rolls up. This might actually be the first time they’ve had any action in decades.”
“The general was very exited” Evie said amused.
“Is it weird we have the power to call in the army?” Carlos said amused. “It feels weird.”
“Mal is dating the king” Evie emphasised. “He doesn’t just have protection to look intimidating.”
“I know that. Okay and where’s Jay?”
“The He’s gone to sneak back to the academy and grab us some swords” Carlos explained.
“Good. I think we need some sort of distraction, or at least some way as a defence to obscure our escape if need be” Mal mused. “Smoke bombs? Would that be hard to make.”
“Not particularly, you can make one quite easily with hair products” Evie commented.
“Brilliant! We’ll stop by and say hello to Dizzy. Carlos you wait here for Jay, and keep watch. We’ll only be half an hour? And don’t touch the wand!”
“On it” Carlos nodded.
“He could come help” Evie whispered.
“Nah doesn’t want to run into his mum. Better not risk it” Mal whispered.
❧
Jay had texted Evie to meet them by the car, which he had parked in order to make a quick getaway. “Help me cover the car. Just in case someone tried to Nick it” Jay said as they arrived.
“Hi guys” Lonnie waved standing in her Fencing gear.
Mal sighed and shot a look at Evie, “He brought his beard.”
“Stop it” Evie said trying not to giggle.
“I forced Jay to let me come” Lonnie admitted as she put the. Ahh on the ground and unzipped it revealing a bunch of swords.
“We’ll thanks Lonnie” Mal said. “It will be dangerous” he admitted.
“I can handle myself” Lonnie reassured.
“Right” Mal nodded. “We can do this” he looked at Evie unsure. Who nodded. “Let’s do it.”
They walked out to the docks the Jolly Roger was moored out in the docks. Mal was certain it was barely seaworthy. He’d slept with Harry enough times to know the boat inside and out.
Uma was on the deck of the ship the pirate crew all attempting to look ferocious.
Mal grimaced and walked forward, flanked by Jay, Evie and Carlos. Uma spotted them and walked over, Harry waddled over his huge thighs jiggling, as he puffed out of breath.
“Where’s the wand?” Uma asked crossing his arms.
“Where’s Ben and Fien. I want to see they’re unharmed” Mal said simply “It’s not like a don’t trust you.”
“And I would like to make sure the wand works. Because I don’t trust you” Uma replied.
Mal smiled and removed the wand cordially. He aimed the wand at at a barell and said a completely fictitious spell to blow up the barrel. The barrel exploded spraying pickle juice along the boardwalk.
“The King and my brother if you could” Mal said calmly.
Uma nodded at two of the pirates who dragged Ben who had his wrists bound and a gag shoved into his mouth. Fien was more or less the same although he had a bandana shoved in his.
“Remove the gags” Mal requested. He’d have said please but that was less likely to help.
Uma nodded and the two gags were removed.
“I was on your side” Fien glared.
“Fien you were only on our side because you were useful” Uma said honestly. “Do you really think we cared about you?”
Fien’s face fell, “I trusted you. You said I would be family.”
“I lied” Uma shrugged dismissively.
“Ben are you okay?” Mal asked honestly.
“I’m okay” Ben nodded.
“The wand” Uma said.
“Mal you didn’t” Ben said horrified.
“Fairy godmother agreed. That your safety was more important” Mal lied honestly. He held out the wand, “Release Fien and Ben”
The pirates cut the two free as they walked toward Mal. He placed the wand on the ground.
Everything after that happened so fast.
Ben and Fien walked forward, Fien in a quick motion swept up the wand in his hands holding it above his head.
Mal stared in horror. As the wand cracked down it’s centre. “Fien throw it! Now!” Mal said.
“What?” Fien said looking up and yelping dropping into the boardwalk.
“Ben…Ru…” The rest of Mal’s sentence was drowned out by the deafening explosion. They were all thrown backwards by the rush of energy. Mal had to give it to Hadie. It certainly was an idea. He looked over and was relieved that Ben had thrown himself forward.
Mal sat up wincing in pain. “Fien…” he said looking around for his brother.
Smoke filled the air. Mal looked around in horror as he saw Fien. Ben was holding him tightly. His heavy body protecting him.
Ben was stirring.
Mal crawled over his body stinging with pain. “Ben” Mal said shaking his belly.
“I’m okay” Ben groaned getting up.
Uma and Harry were stirring and the other pirates were attending to them. The pier underneath began to creak ominously.
“Mal. He’s not walking up” Ben said frowning.
“Fien” Mal said the word catching in his throat.
Ben heaved himself up and lifted Fien into his arms. Mal supported him as the pier cracked and began to collapse. “Run!” Ben groaned as he forced himself to run further.
Mal and Ben barely made to the end of the pier as the whole thing collapsed into the water. “Holy fuck” Mal puffed trying to catch his breath.
“We’ll get you Mal” Uma roared.
“We need to get Fien to hospital” Ben said firmly.
“Yes. Agreed” Mal said fussing over Fien. “Wake up Fien…come on..”
“Mal” Ben said. “We need to go..”
“Let’s go!” Jay said drawing a sword. Lonnie was beside him, ready to defend Ben.
There was a yell as Pirates swung across the divide.
“Fuck. Right, yes let’s go!” Mal agreed, as they ran back along the wharf. Pirates ran after them and Uma swung across.
“We’re gonna have to fight them” Evie warned.
“Run. Fien is injured. Come on!” Mal insisted leading the way.
They all ran back down the alley, full of adrenaline and looking over their shoulder to make sure Uma and her pirates didn’t follow. “I think. Yeah, we did. Come on!” Mal rallied out of breath, as they reached the shed they’d stowed the Limousine in. Jay and Carlos pulled the dusty tarp off the car, as he clicked the key which caused the car to beep. Mal opened the back door, as Jay . “Get in!” He said looking at Fien.
Evie, and Lonnie climbed in and Dude jumped in, Ben stood waiting. “What do you mean get in?” Fien frowned.
“I mean get in. Your coming, I’m not leaving you unattended. Come on!” Mal insisted almost screaming in frustration.
“Mal. You can’t just bring him?” Ben pointed out gently.
“He’s my brother. I’m not leaving him here. I abandoned him, I’m not doing that again” Mal said firmly.
Ben looked at Fien uncertain, “you sure?”
“Yes.”
“Do I get a say in this?” Fien squinted crossing his arms.
“No!” Ben and Mal said firmly.
“Get in” Ben sighed, knowing Mal was right.
Fien nodded grabbed his backpack, suspecting it might have gone this way. And climbed in. Ben climbed in after him. Mal looked around once and climbed in, throwing his bag to Fien. Unaware his spell book had fallen to the ground. The car sped off heading straight back to Auradon.
❧
They drove straight to the hospital. Ben carried Fien into the emergency room. His limp body in his arms. Doctors rushed out and Fien was taken inside as Ben waddled along side explaining what happened.
“And your relation to the patient your highness.”
“He’s Mal’s brother” Ben insisted. “And my Son.”
Mal did a double take, “what?” He frowned.
“Fien. I asked him if he would let me adopt him” Ben admitted. “We’re gonna be a family Mal.”
Mal wanted to cry, today had been too much. He felt Ben pull him close. Pressing him into his fat chest. They were led to a waiting room. “We’ll let you know when you can come in” The Doctor explained.
“Okay. Is it possible to send for an OBGYN Mal he was pregnant and he miscarried I just want to make sure he’s okay” Ben asked.
“Of course your Majesty” The Doctor nodded.
“He’ll be okay” Ben insisted. “And we’ll get you checked out. See if your still pregnant.”
“I’m not” Mal muttered.
“Then we try again. Remember what I told you when we first had sex. I want to have heirs with you” Ben murmured.
Mal smiled, “I’m sorry I ran away. I just had a bit of a meltdown.”
“I know. And it’s okay, all this is a big adjustment” Ben agreed. “I should have been more understanding about you using magic. Fien told me how important it is to you.”
“Thank you, but I also need to not rely on it like I have. It’s not for cheating” Mal admitted.
Ben squeezed Mal tighter.
“Your Majesty. I was asked to check on Mal” A female doctor asked.
“I’ll be back I guess” Mal said. “Do you want to come?“
“I’ll stay here, wait for news on Fien” Ben reassured.
Mal nodded and hugged Ben tightly. Ben smiled at Mal, as he followed the doctor away.
“Now the Doctor said you miscarried.”
Mal felt his face become hot, “yeah I did. Ben just wants to make sure.”
“I would advise you in future to visit the doctor sooner if something like this was to happen” She said calmly.
Mal nodded, he was led to a lift and they went up three floors and through a maze of corridors.
Eventually he was led into an office of pale blue. “Sit up there for me” The Doctor smiled.
“So tell me about why you think you miscarried” The Doctor explained. “Walk me through it.”
“We’ll I’ve had a miscarriage before. It was a couple of years ago, with my ex boyfriend back on the isle. I hadn’t been feeling great and I had cramps. To be honest I thought it was food and so there’s a free clinic on the isle. So I went there, they said I’d miscarried. I realised that when I’d bled a week ago.”
The doctor nodded, “And this time?”
“Ben and I had a fight, and I felt some cramping and then I went to the toilet. There was blood..”
“This might be difficult but how much blood was there?” The Doctor questioned.
“Spots. Like there was definitely blood” Mal nodded.
There was a knock at the door, and Belle waddled through. “Ben said you were here”
“Your highness” The Doctor blushed.
“Hello Mal, I’m sorry about your brother” Belle said with great sympathy.
Mal nodded, “Yeah.”
“Now. Ben said you suffered a miscarriage” Belle asked concerned. She waddled over to a chair which groaned when she sat on it. Mal felt reassured when Belle squeezed his hand.
“I would like to examine you. Make sure that’s the case” The Doctor explained. Mal nodded and The Doctor felt Mal’s stomach gently. “How far along did you think you were?”
“Maybe a month? I’m not sure honestly” Mal muttered.
The doctor nodded, she asked more questions. And asked Mal to do a urine test and a blood test. “Would you like the good news first?” The Doctor said gently.
“There’s good news?” Mal frowned.
“Your still pregnant” The Doctor smiled.
“I am?” Mal said, he wanted to cry. Then he was crying, tears running down his face. He was pulled in Belle’s warm embrace.
“Congratulations Mal” Belle reassured.
“But…that. It shouldn’t be possible?” Mal protested.
“Spotting. That’s normal in the early stages of pregnancy. As is the cramps. It’s not a sign your miscarrying. If it was more blood certainly. Now Mal you are still in your first trimester of pregnancy so you on could still miscarry yet” The Doctor explained.
Mal felt so much relief. “I’m still pregnant? I’m not broken.”
Belle frowned, “Mal. You’d never be broken for miscarrying. It’s normal, and while it does take a lot of work for some people to fall pregnant. There’s no shame in that” Belle said squeezing his hand tightly. “Certainly I struggled to get pregnant.”
“Really” Mal said surprised. “I should get back to my brother.”
“Of course. I’ll escort you back to the lift” The Doctor said.
Belle protectively put an arm around Mal. “We’ll be in contact to organise the next appointment. Please keep this news discreet” Belle said.
“Of course your majesty” The Doctor nodded opening her office door. “This way.” She led us back to the lift, and pressed the button. Ushering Mal and Belle into the lift. Between Belle’s enormous figure and the Doctors Rubenesque curves. It was a tight squeeze and Mal pressed against the back wall.
“Mal. I assumed you and Ben were having sex, but you’ve been using protection?” Belle asked.
“Not really? When Ben and I started having sex. I said I was used to doing the pull out method. We don’t really have condoms on the isle. Not ones that you can use anyway” Mal commented. The doctor turned around in surprise.
“So what were you doing?” Belle asked.
“Well I wasn’t familiar condoms. But Ben said he was too fat for them. And because he was King he needed to start trying for Heirs.”
“Ben said that? Those words?” Belle said calmly.
“Yeah. Pretty much” Mal nodded.
“Hmm” Belle nodded quickly.
The rest of the ride was quiet. Mal rubbed his belly relieved that he was still pregnant. He did think of Uma, he’d never be able to go back to the isle again.
The doors opened and they were led back to a private room. Mal’s heart flew up into his chest. Fien lay there eyes closed, tubes into his mouth and nose, bandages covering his arm and chest. A machine beeped in a staccato rhythm in line with his heartbeat.
He was alive.
King Beast was sitting on what Mal assumed was a chair. But with his enormous bulk spilling out in every direction. It made impossible to tell. Ben sat on the side of the bed, looking at Fien, watching him.
“How is he?” Mal asked.
Ben turned and smiled gently, “He’s okay. The doctor said he’s in a coma because of the magic in the wand. Apparently it packed a punch.” Mal winced, guilt pushing through him. “He’s gonna be okay, Mal.”
Mal nodded, “Yeah. Yeah…I know the Cotillion was supposed to be tonight. But I don’t think I should go. I’d rather stay here with Fien” Mal said walking and rubbing Fien’s shoulder, as he lay still.
“We can cancel the cotillion” Ben reassured. “I’d rather stay too.”
“Don’t cancel it. Let the others have their fun” Mal said.
Ben smiled and pulled Mal against him kissing his neck. “He’ll be okay. If he’s as strong as you.”
“Benjamin Florian Beast” Belle said firmly.
Ben winced at the sound of his full name, he shared a look with his Pop who looked equally confused. “Yes?” He replied cautiously.
“Outside. We need to talk” Belle said firmly.
Ben winced. “Mum I’m King. You can’t just…” Ben trailed off as Belle grabbed his ear and dragged him out of the room.
Mal stifled a snicker of amusement. King Beast looked over curiously. “How was the appointment?”
“Good. It was good news” Mal blushed.
“Really?” Beast leaned forward.
“I’m pregnant” Mal smiled. “I thought I’d lost the baby. But it turns out I was wrong.”
“Congratulations” Beast smiled. “Now I understand why Belle is chewing out our son.”
Mal nodded and placed Fien’s hand on his belly. “Your going to be an uncle Fien, your going to be sweet and you’ll love them.”
Beast heaved himself up lumbering over to Mal he put his big hands on Mal’s belly. Embracing him. “Welcome to the Family Mal. I suspect Ben is going to keep you busy like this for a while.” Mal blushed as Beast rubbed his belly. “I think your going to be a great wife to Ben. A splendid Prince Consort.”
“Thankyou” Mal smiled.
“Ben was a very fat baby. So I would recommend saying goodbye to your feet” Beast chuckled.
Ben walked in looking a little cowed, “Mal was telling me your splendid news” Beast said waddling over. He leaned in and whispered into his sons ear. Ben nodded his double chin wobbling as a smile crept across his face.
“Yes Dad” Ben agreed.
“Good lad” Beast grinned. “Now Belle I’m starving. Let’s go find the hospital cafeteria, give the boys time to themselves.”
Ben lifted his gut and rested it on Fien as he lay in the hospital bed.
“Ben” Mal admonished.
“Trust me?” Ben grinned.
“Always” Mal said.
“Your mother was a fairy. Fairy’s have the ability to reproduce without the need for another parent. They act like blank slate’s latching onto the closest parental figure. It’s why Jane looks so much like her mother” Ben explained.
“Are you saying Jane is a clone?” Mal said dubious.
“Do you know what mitosis is?”
“Sort of?” Mal said uncertain.
“Fien is also the result of that. But that attachment it wasn’t to your mother like it was supposed too. It was to the closest loving figure. It was to you.”
“What. Ben…come on” Mal said shaking his head.
“You said so yourself. You raised him, you protected him. He always followed you around. Fien is your son” Ben said with a smile.
“No. No…but I abandoned him..I…” Mal looked horrified.
“You didn’t know. You couldn’t” Ben reassured. “The other thing is it means he’s genetically and physically without a father figure.” Ben began undoing his outfit exposing his big fat gut.
Mal became erect. “Ben not here.”
“Trust me. Lift your shirt. Just for a bit” Ben encouraged.
Mal sighed and pulled up his shirt his belly bulged out.
“I love that I’ve ruined you” Ben grinned.
“Your child is growing inside of me.”
“Now help me get Fien sitting up, pressed between our tummies.”
“Why?” Mal asked.
“Because Fien doesn’t have two parents. It’s why Jane is more stable. Fien just has you. We’re going to fix that. So he has us” Ben smiled. They heaved Fien until he was sitting up. “The spell it burned him out. He is in a coma but it’s a magical one” Ben smiled. “We just need to stabilise him. And I know we’re true love.”
“You do?” Mal smiled looking up.
“I do” Ben agreed. He leaned in close and kissed Mal, as they held Fien between their bellies.
Something glowed between them. And Mal had to close his eyes the light was so bright.
“Urrrrrrrrrrrrpppp” Fien belched. There was a feeling like a cord snapping into place between the three of them.
Mal felt Ben’s hand on the back of his head as they kissed. His tongue in his mouth. Between them he could feel a pressure. He looked down with one curious eye. Fien was glowing.
There was a groan from between their bellies. They broke the kiss and Fien slumped against the bed blinking slowly.
“Uhh. What did we do?” Mal questioned dubiously.
“He sort of needed recharging, that magical connection needed strengthening. Our bond did that. And technically now he’s not your brother anymore. He’s our son. Look at him” Ben smiled patting Fien’s stomach.
“This is weird. And I’m so confused” Mal said smiling. “I still have questions” Mal admitted.
“I’ve been taking magical education classes with Fairy Godmother, to better understand the magic in this world. I learned about it there.” Ben said as he lay Fien back on the bed. “There you go, you’ll be right as rain soon. Look at that, you’ve got my jaw now.”
“Ben what do we tell people” Mal said. “How do we…explain this?”
There was a knock at the door, and Fairy Godmother poked her head around. “Not interrupting? Oh you have your shirt open.”
“Had to strengthen that connection” Ben grinned jiggling his gut. Eliciting a smile from Mal.
“Fairy Godmother, why…happened? I don’t understand” Mal said honestly. “It’s been a really long day.”
“Is this your brother?” Fairy Godmother enquired. “Look at him. Adorable, he’s got your nose Ben and jaw” she smiled at the sleeping Fien.
“Your mother Mal, like myself was a fairy. And some fairies choose to reproduce asexually. I did, but it’s best done when there is too loving parents. Otherwise it can result in instability” Fairy Godmother. “For both the child and the parent.”
“That’s why Mum was always a little off?” Mal nodded.
“A little?” Ben said wryly.
“Well when Dad left, mum had Fien not long after. It was difficult.”
“A relationship falling apart can be quite taxing” Fairy Godmother nodded.
Mal hesitated slightly, “It was probably the fact that Dad took my twin brother” Mal admitted.
Ben looked up startled, “You have a twin brother?”
“Yes. He lives with my Dad” Mal repeated in a firm tone trying to end the conversation there.
“Your Dad?” Ben frowned. “Nevermind” he said quickly.
“That would certainly explain things. I can’t say for sure, but I imagine your mother struggled greatly so she fell pregnant with Fien to fix that” Fairy Godmother explained. “But your mother didn’t have a lot of love to give. So your brother who to remain whole craved love from the closest source, you.”
“You said so yourself in remedial goodness, you raised him” Fairy Godmother said. “But he never had that second loving influence. I think if he’d kept growing without it, he might have struggled.”
“He hated that I abandoned him” Mal murmured, his hand stroking Fien’s cheek.
Fairy Godmother hugged Mal gently. “I think that blast of magic might have done a lot of good. It’s given a second chance for him to grow up with two loving parents.”
“He’s going to be so loved” Ben smiled grinning.
“Will he be okay?”
“Once he wakes up, he’ll be okay” Fairy godmother said examining him. “Yes. He’ll be himself in no time. Although you might find he’ll have become a lot more like Ben. I know you can be the best parent you can be. You both can” Fairy Godmother smiled.
“Oh, I loved my brother the way he was” Mal said unable to hide the hurt. He began to cry quietly.
“Mal” Ben said gently.
“I loved my brother” Mal murmured.
“Of course you do. But things couldn’t go on the way they were. Fien is your son now, and I know you’ll love him just as much” Fairy Godmother smiled.
“My son” Mal realised.
“Our son” Ben smiled putting his arm affectionately around Mal.
“I hope this isn’t rude. But Is this how Jane was born?” Mal asked.
“It was. I struggled to fall pregnant the normal way. So my husband and I tried this method” Fairy Godmother explained. “All Fien needs is a loving family, like all children do.”
“But how do I explain this, won’t people notice” Mal admitted.
Fairy Godmother considered for a moment then smiled. “You’ll be surprised what people don’t notice.”
“Actually I had an idea” Ben admitted. “As King, I can adopt him, he’d be my ward. As your not of age yet, but we can be a family.”
Mal smiled a little, “I like that plan.”
“What….Urrrrrrrrrrrrrpppp plan” Fien belched loudly. He then covered his mouth surprised.
Mal snorted and looked at Ben. “Yeah that’s from my side.”
“Huh?” Fien blinked. “Where am I? I was on the isle? Earlier?”
“The wand, it exploded” Mal said glaring at him. “You would have died, instead all that unused magic acted as a shield and burned itself out inside. You got really fucking lucky” Mal sniffed and he hugged Fien. “Never ever ever do that again.”
“Yes Mum” Fien said sarcastically.
“More accurate than you think” Ben said wryly.
“What?” Fien said frowning. His stomach gurgled loudly. “Anyone got any food?”
Ben grinned and pulled out a chocolate bar handing it to Fien. “I always have snacks on me.”
“So” Mal began looking at Ben, and then at The Fairy Godmother. “How do I explain this.”
“Fien. My name is The Fairy Godmother, I’m a fairy like Maleficent.” The fairy Godmother said gently. “Maleficent might have birthed you, but she’s not your mother. As a fairy, she birthed you but she was never your mother. You latched onto the closest motherly influence.”
“Mal” Fien said looking at his brother. He bit his lip.
“And now you have a father figure to make you complete” Fairy Godmother smiled.
“Who?” Fien frowned.
“Hello Son” Ben grinned. Mal sighed.
Fien blinked and his mouth fell open. “What….”
“Yep” Mal said wryly. He pulled out his phone and turned on the camera and handed it to Fien. “Have a look.”
“I look….woah” Fien just stared and felt his face. “I’m really….your son.”
“Our son” Ben corrected.
“Yeah. Although I was a pretty shit parent” Mal said squeezing Fien’s shoulder.
Fien smiled and took a bite of chocolate. “Nah. You were fine. I just missed when you went away.”
“I missed you too Fien” Mal smiled hugging him gently.
There was a knock and King Beast leaned in, “Can we come in? I bring cake?”
“Ooh Cake” Ben and Fien said in unison.
“That’s going to take a little getting used too” Mal said frowning.
Plates of cake were handed around, and Fien greedily scooped mouthfuls of cake with his spoon.
“You must be Fien” Belle smiled.
“Hello…urrrp” Fien said chewing.
“Just like someone we know” Belle said looking at Ben.
“He’s hungry. Nothing wrong with that” Beast grinned.
“Have a second piece Mal. Your eating for two” Beast grinned.
“You are?” Fien looked up. “But you thought?”
“It turns out I was wrong” Mal smiled. “Still pregnant.”
Fien grinned and smiled at Mal. “I’m happy for you. For both of you” he said looking at Ben.
Ben grinned and pulled Fien close against his gut. “Same to you. I’m not a king for you, just your Dad. If that’s okay?”
Fien smiled and nodded. “It’s good with me. As long as you treat Mal well.”
“I will. I promise” Ben smiled. “Mal is everything to me. I’m going to make time for both of you. All three of you.”
“Speaking of” Belle said calmly. “I know you both are young, but I think..”
“YES! You have to get married!” Fien insisted.
Ben went a deep red, “I…Errr….Welll..”
Mal smiled, “People have been telling me how the Cotillion is basically getting engaged. So whenever your ready Ben. You don’t need to rush.”
“Yes he does. You’re giving birth in (six )months” Belle said firmly.
“Mum” Ben groaned. “I wasn’t going to wait that long. Although wouldn’t Mal’s parent have to sign that off.”
“Well Maleficent is a lizard” Belle pointed out.
“My Dad is alive” Mal pointed out.
“I’ll ask him for permission” Ben nodded firmly.
Fien raised an eyebrow, “That’s brave.”
“Mal. Who is your father? You never mentioned” Beast enquired.
Mal hesitated, but felt Fien squeeze his hand reassuringly. “Hades.”
“Oh dear” Fairy Godmother said surprised.
“Yep. He and Mum separated after I was born. Mum took me, and He took my brother Hadie” Mal explained. “Hadie and I are friendly, ish. I don’t really talk to Dad though.”
“Perhaps we can discuss this later. We’re due at the Cotillian” The Fairy Godmother pointed out. “And I don’t like being late.”
“Mal and I are going to send our apologies. We need to stay with Fien” Ben said firmly.
“Nonsense. Fien will be fine to be discharged”
“I still think I’d rather him rest” Mal said honestly.
“I’m feeling much better. If anything I’m hungry” Fien reassured.
“Then I think it’s settled. If the Doctor gives you the all clear you can attend with Ben and Mal. I’m sure lots of people will be excited to meet you” The Fairy Godmother said.
“No talk of the pregnancy” Belle said firmly to Ben. “Are we clear.”
“Fine” Ben sighed. “Can I at least tell Doug?”
Chapter 3
Ben turned back to Fien who sat on the end of Ben’s bed. He was a thin boy, although that would change soon, his stomach bloated from the snacks he’d been indulging in.
“Dad?” Fien began looking at Ben unsure.
Ben grinned at the mention of being called Dad. “Yes Son.”
“Am I a Prince now?” Fien asked.
Ben chuckled, “Not quite, I can make you a duke. Line of succession is complicated and you’ll be spoiled either way.” He said warmly. Ben looked at his suit in the mirror, the way the fabric struggled over his round gut. He patted his belly. “I’m pretty lucky. I’ve got you, I’ve got Mal. And we’ve got a baby on the way.”
Fien hopped up off the bed and hugged Ben warmly. “You are really fat you know. Like very very very fat.”
Ben hugged Fien back. “Oh I know. I like food” he said rubbing Fien’s back. “We probably should finish getting dressed.”
“Is it supposed to be this baggy?” Fien enquired pulling at the jacket that literally hung off him.
“Well it’s one of my old ones” Ben smiled. “I was a lot fatter then. But no one will notice” Ben reassured. Fien noticed the way Ben’s trousers looked practically painted on as they hugged every fold and crease in his thighs. Ben grunted as he went to lean forward, he stopped puffing slightly. “Fien, could you please hand me my jacket. Suits a bit tight”
Fien picked up the jacket, it was large but finely crafted. He ran his fingers over the stitching. He offered it to Ben. “Here Dad.”
“I like you calling me Dad. I’ve always wanted lots of kids” Ben admitted.
“Mal doesn’t” Fien snorted.
“I wouldn’t be so sure” Ben smiled. As he lifted his flabby arms up. “Slide it on this arm, and then the other.”
“Shouldn’t you have servants who do this?” Fien asked.
“I want to spend time with you” Ben smiled. “Get to know each other. I won’t Cinderella you, I promise.” Fien offered the jacket and began to slide it onto Ben’s arm. It offered more resistance than he expected. “You might have to stand on that stool.”
“It’s a bit tight” Fien frowned.
“I’m a bit fat” Ben replied.
“A bit is underselling it” Fien said letting go, the jacket remained wedged on Ben’s arm. Fien fetched a stool, and began tugging once more. He made progress managing it get the jacket up Ben’s flabby arm. He moved around to the other arm, and after a bit of straining managed the second.
“Just have to do up the buttons” Ben pointed out.
Fien looked at him dubiously, “Uh. You sure you can manage?”
“I had the suit fitted with growing room” Ben reassured. “Don’t look so panicked.”
“So how much of this is my broth…Mum’s fault?” Fien asked.
Ben grinned wryly, “Mal enables me, but most of this was my own doing” he admitted. “I should cut back. But I like eating far too much.”
“I can tell” Fien said wandering over to the bowl of chocolates and shoving a handful into his mouth without even realising.
Ben smiled wryly, he groaned as he began to tug on the fabric. His hefty belly bulged, as the fabric met. “Fien?” Ben grunted.
Fien looked up his mouth full of chocolate and walked close and began to pull on the fabric trying to force it over the button. “Hnghhh” Fien groaned. It was harder than he thought but he buttoned the jacket.
“There we go. Bit snug but I’m just bloated” Ben smiled.
“Uh huh” Fien said dubiously.
“Come on. We better head up to the top deck” Ben said. “We’ll stop via the kitchens on the way. I always eat before the canapé’s go out.”
“Is that why you’re so fat?” Fien asked.
“It’s so you can hear the music over my belly rumbling” Ben grinned.
❧
“Beautiful” Evie said as she helped Mal into the suit. Fussing over him.
“Ehh” Mal disagreed.
“You’re beautiful. I’m just very yellow.”
“Technically it’s canary gold” Evie smiled. “No more running off. Okay?”
Mal laughed, “Okay. Mind you I don’t think I’ll be running anywhere?”
“Considering I’ve resized this suit twice” Evie commented.
“Hey, Safe space” Mal frowned. “Do you need me to do your dress up?”
Evie smiled and shook her head, “No just need to finish some final touches on my makeup. Then we can go..”
Mal nodded and adjusted his collar as Evie floated off toward the bathroom. “I hope I don’t have to make a speech.”
“It’s only an engaged to get engaged cotillion” Evie said reassuringly.
Mal laughed, “Actually I think we might be skipping a couple of steps.”
“What?” Evie said shocked.
“I’ll tell you once the others get here” Mal said simply.
“Oh absolutely not” Evie said firmly. She walked out staring firmly. “Spill.”
Mal smiled and rubbed his belly, “How do you feel about Maternity wear.”
Evie squealed and hugged Mal tightly. “Mal. I can’t believe it.”
“I know. I thought I’d miscarried, turns out i was wrong. Ben’s over the moon” Mal smiled.
“So he’s going to propose?”
“Well. He wants a legitimate heir” Mal smiled. “Although we can’t talk about the pregnancy publicly.”
“Of course” Evie nodded understanding completely. “Mum’s the word, literally.” Mal offered his arm to Evie. Evie gripped Mal’s arm and the two headed off toward the minibus’s that were shuttling everyone to the boat.
“I Bagsied the back row” Jay said opening the window and waving to Mal and Evie. Mal helped Evie onto the bus, holding the back of the dress. As she walked down to the back. Carlos and Jay were smiling, their suits fitted over their bellies. Mal sat down beside Carlos, prodded his belly playfully. “Eat before?”
“Yeah. I mean there’s never enough food” Carlos said firmly.
“Right? I’m starving” Mal agreed.
“So where’s squirt? Still in hospital?” Jay asked.
“He’s with Ben. Ben’s getting him a suit” Mal explained. “He’s already stuck to Ben’s side.” Mal smiled, and looked at his three best friends. He’d explain the whole thing later, as he’d definitely need a flow chart.
“Tell them your news” Evie encouraged.
“You got your first STI” Jay enthused.
“No” Mal laughed. “I’m pregnant” he said quieter.
“No way” Carlos stared.
“I was kind of right” Jay grinned, Evie elbowed him.
“Yep. The doctor confirmed today” Mal smiled.
“Fuck Mal. Congratulations” Jay said hugging him. All of them hugged tightly. As the minibus lurched forward.
“Sorry” The driver apologised. He shut the doors and the minibus drove off.
The Royal boat was moored at the docks, large spotlights lit up the night sky and the boat. Which resembled a castle with the green towers on each corner. Reporters and Photographers lined the blue carpet. Doug was escorting Evie, unable to wipe the beaming smile from his round face.
“Mal! Mal! Who are you wearing” One Photographer asked.
“A custom tailored suit by Evie of the Isle” Mal smiled. “The Hair is done by Dizzy of the Isle. She also makes accessories”
Mal wished Ben was beside him, but he had other things to worry about. Mal made his way up the ramp to the ship, he was escorted away from the group to a side room. “We’ll let everyone else arrive so we can announce you officially” An attendant explained.
“Sure, no worries” Mal smiled, as he sat down on the couch. The door on the other side of the room peeked open, and Fien poked his head around.
“Mal” Fien grinned as he embraced Mal.
“Wow, look at you in a royal suit” Mal grinned brushing his shoulders off.
“It’s massive on me” Fien grinned. “But Dad picked it out.”
“Dad eh?” Mal smiled.
“Well he is, and for the first time i feel whole” Fien smiled.
Mal felt his eyes water and hugged Fien tightly. “Oh Fien” he murmured. “Why am i crying, i never cry.”
“Mal you’re pregnant” Fien said obviously. “I was wondering, do i call you Mum?”
Mal sniffed and considered, “Well, that’s up to you.”
“Mum” Fien smiled cuddling Mal. “You were always there for me, and I probably wasn’t always fair to you. But i missed you.”
“I missed you too” Mal smiled.
The door opened and the attendant smiled, “Ah lovely you’re both here” She said with a smile. She was beautiful brunette in a translucent aqua coloured gown.
“Ready to go?” Mal asked.
The woman smiled wryly and her features changed, a shape on her chest glowing, the curled shape of a shell.
“Uma” Mal sneered.
“I can’t have you ruining my moment” Uma sneered, or Mal sneered as Uma now resembled. Their clothes, hair and features all identical.
“You Bitch” Mal said as Uma shut the door. The door glowed with Magic, as Mal kicked it hard. “Fuck, we’re trapped. And no one knows we’re here.”
“There’s no way anyone will fall for that” Fien reassured. “Evie, Jay, and Carlos will see right through it! Right?”
Chapter 4
Up on the top deck, the noise died away. And the royal attendants each one in their indentical gold uniforms. Horn’s gripped in their hands. A brief melody tooted, and Cogsworth stood at the top of the stairs. His large belly protruding.
“Presenting the future Lord Mal”
Uma stood at the top of the stairs and gave a cordial nod. Everyone was staring at him, the VK’s and other fattened Auradon kids.
“Woo! Go Mal” Evie started and the other VK’s began cheering.
Uma started down the stairs, King Beast stepped forward offering his hand. Uma hesitated but took it. “Hello” King Beast smiled.
“Hi” Uma replied.
“Ben is on his way” King Beast reassured. “And you look beautiful” he smiled.
“Oh thankyou” Uma said simply.
“I know we were shocked at first, but you” Belle smiled and squeezed Uma’s hand tightly. “You are everything Ben needs.”
Uma gave a forced smile, everyone probably thought it was nerves. But She was exactly what King Ben needed right now.
“And Lucky for me, she doesn’t go by first impressions” King Beast grinned.
They laughed, and Uma hated having to fake it. To keep up this charade.
“Hi” Evie smiled stepping up and leading Uma to the dance floor.
“Hi” Uma said.
Fuck they were all so sachrine.
“So how are we feeling?” Evie asked Uma.
“Like I might throw up” Uma lied, feigning nervous. She was nervous but in a different way.
“Yeah. That’s okay, That’s okay. Look we’re right here with you” Evie reassured gently. It took everything in Uma’s power not to laugh.
Trumpets began once more.
“King Benjamin” Lumiere welcomed.
Ben stood at the top of the stairs and grinned, he saw Mal standing at the bottom of the stairs. He looked around and couldn’t see Fien. Everyone bowed and cheered.
“Where’s my son?” Ben hissed to Lumire.
“Sire, He was left with Mal” lumiere replied.
Ben nodded uncertain and walked down to Mal. He Bowed, aware that everyone was staring at them. There was something off, Ben couldn’t quite put his finger on why. He took Mal’s hand and kissed it gently. “Mal” he smiled, “Where’s Fien?”
“He’s” Uma stopped, “Around. He didn’t want to be here.” She said with a dismissive shrug.
Ben’s face fell and he stepped away. “Where’s Mal?”
“What?” Uma said laughing casually. “I’m right here.”
“No. No you’re not, I know Mal and Fien is one of the most important people to him” Ben said firmly. “So who are you?”
❧
“Stupid door” Fien said frustrated.
“There’s no point kicking it” Mal said frowning. “It’s sealed with Magic.”
“So you’re giving up?” Fien asked.
“No. I’m considering my other options” Mal admitted. “That door you came from where did that go?”
“Ben said it was a secret door” Fien said. “For royal staff. The whole boat is lined with them.”
Mal got up and tried the door. It opened, he gestured to Fien. “Come on. Let’s find another way out.”
“What if those doors are sealed?” Fien asked.
“Then we’ll work on plan C” Mal reassured. The corridor was narrow with basic florecent lighting. They followed it along until they found another door and followed it out into the corridor. “Okay. Let’s kick Uma’s fucking ass.”
“Question. What’s the plan?” Fien asked.
“Improvisation” Mal replied firmly.
Fien narrowed his eyes at Mal. “Find Uma, Confront Uma. Maybe kick her in the pussy” He offered. “See plan.”
“How did you defeat mu…Malifcent?” Fien
“Luck. And a strong will” Mal offered. “But also mostly improvising.”
“Against Mum in her dragon form?” Fien frowned. “Now I can see how Zevon possessed you.”
“Okay. Let’s get on” Mal said as they headed up a staircase. “Why does this boat have so many stairs.” Finally they made it up to the landing before the deck. Lumirere looked at the pair of them confused.
“But I already announced you.”
“Yep. Please do it again. Dramatically” Fien grinned.
Lumiere blinked, “Someone is using magic to impersonate me” Mal explained.
“How do I know it’s you” Lumiere pointed out validly.
“I can explain the details of the King’s penis in incredibly lurid detail” Mal pointed out.
“I’ll go announce you” Lumiere said calmly.
“Thankyou” Mal grinned.
Trumpets sounded and Mal offered his arm to Fien. “Let’s go crash a party.”
“Presenting the Future Lord Malice and Lord Fiendish” Lumiere said.
Mal stepped out and looked down at his doubleganger and Ben. “That’s brave of you” Mal commented as he walked down the stairs.
“How did you get out?” Uma sneered.
“Oh. No don’t do that with my face it’s weird” Mal frowned. “I’m very well aquatinted to the use of Back doors.”
“Eww” Fien grimaced.
“Hi” Ben grinned.
“Hi” Mal grinned.
“So I know you said you had a twin.”
“Hadie’s fatter. Trust me Da…King Ben you’ll recognise the difference” Fien smirked.
“He’s fatter is he?” Ben said curiously. Mal’s eyes narrowed. “Not for long.”
“Oh enough” Uma snapped. “Ben you can’t believe that Imposter. Fien come to me..”
“Fien stay where you are” Ben said firmly. “You’re not Mal. Do you know how I know you’re not Mal.”
“How?” Uma said casually.
“When I asked where Fien was, you dismissed it. You didn’t care, and Mal cares about Fien more than anything” Ben said firmly. “Your Uma aren’t you?”
“Am I? Maybe I’m just showing my true colours.”
Mal scoffed, “Give it a rest Shrimpy.”
Jay and Carlos both pointed at Mal. “Definitely Mal.”
“You doubted me?” Mal frowned.
Uma touched her chest and laughed as she was engulfed by smoke revealing her true form. “Happy.”
“Much. You’re a terrible actor” Mal said walking over to Ben’s side.
“Uma. I know you’re frustrated. But this isn’t the way” Ben said knowing this could get much worse in an instant.
Uma roared and ran at Fairy Godmother. “Give it to Me!” She said reaching for the wand.
Ben and Mal looked at one another. This had gone from Bad to worse.
“No” Fairy Godmother said panicked. Holding the wand purposely out of reach. “Seize her!” She pointed.
Guards ran in, and Uma bolted shoving her way across the deck of the ship. Mal and Ben waddled after her, neither of them particularly mobile.
“Fuck! Stop! Please No! Stop!” Mal said as he and Ben put themselves in between Uma and the rest of the passengers.
“Uma. We can talk about this. Please” Ben reassured.
“Uma. Look I know we’ve had our differences, but I know you. And I know that you are so much more than just a villain. You’re more than just the daughter of Ursula, your Uma. You are your own person. Believe me I’ve stood where you’re standing, don’t let your pride get in the way of what you really want.”
There was silence, and Mal hoped that Uma finally listened. The shell on her chest pulsed with glowing magic. Mal stepped forward offering a hand to Uma.
Uma threw herself off the side of the boat. As she hit the water with a splash. Her glowing shell the only thing visible under the waves.
“Is it too much to hope she’s swimming away?” Carlos asked.
“We’re not that lucky” Jay frowned, his gut resting on the rail as he leaned over.
The whole boat lurched ominously. And everyone staggered backward.
“Mal…What are we going to do?” Fien asked.
Mal didn’t answer as a whirlpool began to turn rapidly beside the boat. It rose rapidly out of the water looking like a bloated tornado. Something moving at its heart.
“Mal?” Fien repeated.
“I don’t know Fien. I really really don’t know” he said a hand on his stomach.
“Why don’t we do we you know?” Fien yelled. As the sound of the water exploded outwards drenching the top deck.
Uma’s laughed echoed loud and powerful. As she loomed over the boat. A large thick green tentacle slapped against the deck of the boat. Water sprayed up. Another whipped up slapping the posts.
“What?” Mal said looking at his brother. And then he knew. He nodded at Fien and Fien grinned.
“True love won’t defeat this!” Uma Declared her tentacles thrashing in the water. “The World will know my name”
Mal stepped back and nodded at Fien they moved away from the group.
“Mal?” Ben asked his eyes wide and filled with worry.
“I love you” Mal smiled. “And I need you to trust me.”
Mal closed his eyes and pulled the magic from deep inside him. He felt it engulfing him, he let his magic run through him. He felt his body change as smoke engulfed him. Mal stretched the black purple wings and flew up off the deck.
There was a roar on the deck and where Fien once stood was a now a huge hulking beast. Mal lowered a wing and Fien scrambled up onto Mal’s back.
“Come on Mal, let’s finish this once and for all” Uma taunted goading him.
Mal soared toward Uma, opening her mouth and letting a roar from deep inside him. A torrent of fire spray down at Uma.
Uma whipped up her tentacle using the waves to block the fire. Mal was undeterred and dipped his head, as Fien launched himself at her. His claws embedding into her, she slapped him off with his tentacle. His claws leaving a bloody wound on her body. As Fien hit the water with a splash.
Mal swooped down, and roared. Fire engulfed Uma, Mal heard her scream. He smiled satisfied as he pulled up. Wings flapping. He searched for Fien and saw him launch himself up Uma claws out and embedding them in her tentacle.
“That’s enough!” Ben’s voice carried over from the boat. He pulled off his crown and handed it to Evie. Ben let out a gutteral roar and all of a sudden he shifted. His large body becoming taller, as fur rippled across his flesh. His hair becoming longer. As King Ben full transformed into a beast.
“Wait Ben! No!” Carlos yelled
Ben ignored him and jumped off the boat and dived into the water. His round body causing the water to splash. He swam across toward Uma. “Enough” he roared.
Mal flew down overhead and belched fire. Roaring as he did. Fien clawed and attacked Uma. Getting thrown off into the water and swimming back toward her.
“Uma!” Ben’s voice was deeper more resonant. “Stop this! We don’t need to fight!”
“What are you going to do? keep clawing at me?” Uma scoffed.
“Uma. You’re better than this. I know the Isle has inequality, I’ve seen how bad it is. I want to change things. Help me” Ben said honestly. “Help me make a difference.”
Mal hovered in the air and roared. Fien jumped off and swam toward Ben.
Uma sighed and looked at Ben. “I can’t. I can’t trust you to do the right thing. I’m sorry” Uma said honestly.
“Uma” Ben said hurt.
“There’s only one way to prove that you really want to help” Uma said honestly.
“The Barrier” Ben looked at Fien uncertain and then up at Mal. “Okay. But this is has to work” he said to Uma.
“I know” Uma agreed.
Uma pressed her hand to her chest and she began to shrink. Mal hovered down almost touching the water, lowering his wing. Fien and Ben climbed onto Mal’s back.
“Uma?” Ben offered his clawed hand to Uma.
Uma offered a tentacle and climbed up onto Mal’s back. Mal flew up and circled the boat before he landed carefully on the deck. Letting Ben, Fien and Uma climb down onto the deck. Mal took a deep breath and transformed back. His suit was slightly charred, the yellow now a deep purple. He looked at Ben and Fien and smiled. “My boys” Mal smiled.
Ben grinned, his teeth still fangs. “I don’t know how to undo this?” He murmured. “Or how I did this.”
Mal grinned and kissed him gently. “Residual magic from this one” he said eyeing Fien. Ben glowed and changed back. His heavy gut pressing against Mal. They were both sopping wet. A beard now covering Ben’s double chin. “It was probably a one off. Probably.”
Fien let out a gutteral roar and changed back. He grinned eyes aflame. “I was aiming for dragon.”
Ben grinned and hugged him and Mal warmly. “Uma” Ben smiled. “Enjoy tonight, and tomorrow we’ll bring down the barrier for good. It’s time for a new era in Auradon. Where we’re united, it’s time for a second chance” Ben looked at his parents. “To fix our mistakes.”
Uma smiled and gave a low bow to Ben. “Thankyou.”
Ben let go of Mal and Fien and smiled at them. “Okay. Is everyone okay?” He asked the crowd, All wet and bulging. A few nods and smiles.
“Good. Good” Ben nodded. “Well, I have a couple of announcements” he smiled. “It’s funny I did have a speech prepared but I think it’s wet now” he smiled. There was chuckles, “I’ve had an interesting couple of days, that has opened my eyes to things that as King. I had the privilege of being unaware of. We shut all our problems away, exiling them to an island and not really thinking of anything beyond that. When I became king, I wanted to bring some of the children of villains and reform them. I discovered how we they never needed reforming, they just needed opportunities, and education. This has been exemplified by Mal. My Mal. We had such an interesting beginning, but you saw a boy who needed someone. You saw a boy going through the motions with his girlfriend. You saw my unhappiness even when I was blind to it. Since then you’ve been my rock, you’ve made me want to be the best King for all of Auradon. It is my great pleasure Malice son of Maleficent, to grant you the official title of Lord of the court. And as my wonderful boyfriend, I wanted to present this to you. To sit alongside the other royal couples in the Cathedral.”
Ben gestured to the large curtain that sat at the top of the stairs. Nothing happened, “It hasn’t broken has it?” He said worried.
Two attendants ran out, and pulled on the curtain rope. They opened revealing a stained glass panel, of Mal and Ben. The two looking up at each other. It was very flattering.
Mal smiled softly at Ben, “Ben..” Mal said amazed. “I love it.”
Ben grinned proudly. “I love you” he declared. There was an ‘awww’ from the assembled crowds. He turned to Fien, “Fien, I give you the official title of Lord of the Court. And I the title of Son” Ben smiled.
Fien smiled and ran over and hugged Ben pressing against his chest. “Dad..” he said squeezing his belly.
“Fien. You’re going to be spoiled, you’ll be like me before you know it” Ben reassured. hugging him back, and smiled at Mal.
“I want to be just like you” Fien whispered. Ben smiled and pressed Fien against his belly tightly.
“My Fien” Ben smiled rubbing his back proudly. He sniffed trying not to cry, he looked over at Mal who was quietly sobbing. Fien broke the hug and Belle and Beast beckoned Fien over and hugged him tightly. “Mal. There’s one last thing. And it’s not a little thing, I mean look at me. When do I do little” Ben joked patting his belly.
Ben pulled out a black ring box. He groaned as he struggled to bend down onto one knee. His fat bulging gut straining the tight fabric. You could hear the seams popping. Ben groaned as he lifted his enormous thigh. “Mal puff I wheeze Love puff you.”
There was an audible creak from Ben.
“I puff need you” he smiled.
There was a Rip, As the back of ben’s trousers gave up. His round ass just too fat and flabby to contain it. The fabric spreading to reveal his jocks with crowns on it.
“Mal. Will you…” Ben leaned forward, face red and flashed. Ben’s fat fingers now wet with sweat struggled with the box.
Pop
riiipppp
Ben exploded out of his clothing. His suit flying open as buttons scattered in every direction. His big heavy belly bulged out freed. His heavy moobs jiggling. His heavy belly on display for everyone to see.
“Marry me?”
“Yes” Mal smiled and he bent down and hugged Ben tightly. “You know photographs of your belly are going to be all over the news tomorrow.”
“Yep. I’m wishing I upsized” Ben muttered with a wry smile as he slid the ring onto Mal’s finger.
“I warned you” Fien teased.
Mal chuckled and kissed him gently, “I love you Ben.” He reached over and tried to close the shirt and jacket but it was no good.
Ben got to his feet, and tried to close the jacket but the buttons were missing. He put his hands on Mal’s shoulders. Guided him infront and put his arm around Mal. “Everyone party enjoy!” Ben declared. “The night is young.”
❧
There was a nervous chatter on the sight of the courtyard. The Courtyard once had been the start of a great bridge that stretched across to the Isle. It had been a manufacturing ship yard, full of warehouses and factories. On the Auradon side, a huge forecourt with a large stone arch and shops greeted what was now a curious tourist shop.
Once Ben had made his proclamation, by Morning a stage had been setup, with scaffolding adorned with the Royal colours and sidgal.
Words spread and soon crowds gathered. Ben sat in the limousine, fiddling with his hands. Mal sat beside him, and squeezed his leg. He let his head rest on Ben’s shoulder. Fien sat in one of the side seats, legs spread.
“Is this the right thing?” Ben asked. “I’ve been in meetings all night.”
“Yes” Mal said squeezing Ben’s leg. “It’ll be hard work. But yes it’s the right thing.”
Ben smiled at Mal, “I should have done something like this sooner.”
“Maybe. But you didn’t realise how bad it was” Mal reassured.
“No. No one did, The Isle of the Lost will be remembered as my father’s greatest mistake. At least I can fix that legacy, I worry it’s too late.”
“Better than not at all” Fien smiled at Ben.
Ben nodded and patted his belly. It gurgled loudly. “I shouldn’t have skipped breakfast.”
“I told you not to worry” Mal reassured.
“People are already calling me King Benjamin The Fat.”
“It’s no worse than Mal son of Maleficent.”
“Does this make me the grandson?” Fien said curiously.
“Technically” Mal laughed.
“And you are okay with the fact you’ll never be in line for the throne” Ben asked worried.
“Yeah. I mean that’s a lot of work. I’d rather just marry a prince” Fien grinned. “and pop out lots of babies.”
Mal groaned and shook his head. “A lot of them are idiots. Ben is definitely the exception”
“They aren’t all Chad” Ben grinned. “Did you see Chad last night?”
“I did not. Jay mentioned something about an ‘Audrey Emergency’ Lucky for him” Mal said with a grimace.
“Who’s Audrey?” Fien asked.
“Sleeping Beauty’s daughter, She’s my ex girlfriend. And Mal’s nemesis.”
“You have a nemesis, I thought Uma was your nemesis?” Fien asked.
“That’s more of a rivalry” Mal clarified. “We’re here” he said looking out and noticing the crowds.
“My first royal event as the Kings Son” Fien grinned.
“First of Many” Ben grinned.
“Some are better than others” Mal said wryly.
“Cogsworth had a fit, when I told him we need a royal wedding in a matter of weeks” Ben said wryly.
“I don’t blame him” Mal said wryly. “People will figure it out.”
“Doesn’t matter if they do. As long as we dot the I’s legally, won’t matter” Ben smiled as he reached and rubbed Mal’s belly. “You’re going to be spoiled” he promised. Ben looked over at Fien, “Both of you. As busy as things get, you are my everything. Remember that.”
The limo stopped and the door was opened. “Your Majesty” A plump rosy cheeked attendant smiled.
“Thankyou Chip” Ben said as he slid out of the car. He stood and offered a hand to Mal, as he climbed out. Fien jumping out enthusiastically. There was a roar of applause at their appearance. Ben turned and waved to the crowds, putting his other arm around Mal.
“This is wild” Fien commented his eyes wide.
“Just breathe” Ben said with a warm smile. “Stick close to me okay?”
Fien nodded dutifully. The trio made their way towards the podium. Fairy Godmother was already waiting, as was King Beast and Queen Belle sitting on reinforced chairs.
In the crowd were the VK’s and many of their classmates from Auradon Prep. Mal waved at them, as they walked up the stairs.
“Mom, Dad” Ben smiled as he kissed Belle’s round cheek.
“Morning you three” King Beast grinned. “You didn’t come down for breakfast?”
“I was in meetings all night. I had a quick nap” Ben admitted. “I don’t have bags under my eyes do I?”
“You look fine” Belle smiled. “Mal?”
“Eh. Nausea wasn’t fun, but otherwise alright” Mal smiled. “Hello Fairy Godmother.”
“Morning. It’s wonderful weather” She smiled.
“Good sign I hope” Ben grinned.
“Let’s hope so” Fairy Godmother agreed.
“Oh before I forget, we received communication from Olympus. Zeus wants to meet his nephews at his earliest convenience” Ben added with a yawn.
“Never at our convenience” Belle sighed.
“Dad is very much the same” Mal chuckled.
“Right we’re not waiting for anyone else are we?” Ben asked.
“We did send out invites. Shockingly no response” Fairy Godmother said wryly. “The term Battoning down the Hatches was bandied about.”
Ben sighed. “Hey, they’re scared and that’s okay. But the Isle has people who are tired and frustrated and need help. And that’s what we do, we help” Mal reassured Ben.
“Yes. Yeah, we help. It’s what my parents taught me” Ben smiled. Belle smiled at him. He looked at Mal, and took his hand and then offered the other to Fien. “Our first time as a united front. You ready?”
“Fuck yeah” Fien grinned.
“Language” King Beast frowned.
“Yeah. You’ll have to get used to that” Mal said wryly.
“Guys” Ben gestured to the other VK’s. “Come up, we’re doing this together.”
“Really?” Carlos said surprised.
“Really” Ben nodded.
Carlos, Jay, Evie, Freddie and Uma.
“So do we think CJ is the crowd somewhere?” Mal asked.
Freddie looked sheepish. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Ben snorted wryly, “Mum’s the word.” He said wryly. “Uma I hoped Evie looked after you?”
“She did, Auradon is certainly interesting” Uma said squinting.
Mal grinned, “It has its charms” he looked at Ben and smiled. They stepped forward to the podium.
“I want to thank everyone coming out at such short notice” Ben smiled warmly, cameras flashed up at them. Mal nudged Fien as they stepped forward. “Lord Mal and I want to thank you for celebrating our engagement. And welcoming Fien to our family. Any family of Mal’s is family of mine” Ben said with a proud smile. “I couldn’t be prouder to call Mal my Prince.” He looked out at the crowd who clapped and cheered enthusiastically. “We should have some drinks going around sparkling wine and non alcoholic cider” Ben smiled. He looked and saw a nod, “So If you would raise a glass to the future Prince Mal.”
“Prince Mal” Came the reply as everyone held their glasses up.
Mal smiled graciously. There were a few calls for Speech. “Are you going to make a speech?”
“Me?” Ben grinned. “It’s your home.”
Mal blinked her eyes narrowed into a playful glare.
“Mal and I have a pronouncement” Ben declared, “One that will come as quite a shock.”
Mal stepped up and felt Ben wrap his arm around me. “Recently I had the opportunity to visit the Isle of the Lost. We both did” she looked up at Ben. “It was a reminder of what I’d left behind, and how far I’d come.” He looked at Ben hoping he’d jump in.
Ben squeezed his side gently, “When my father and many others from across Auradon came together to punish the people and creatures they perceived as great evils from across the land. They resurrected the dead and they rounded up others and placed them all on the Isle of the lost. With limited resources, and no chance at rehabilitation, they spent twenty years in abject poverty.” Ben let the words sink in. “My father made a mistake. I know that after seeing the unfit conditions they live in.”
“We need to be better, showing them respect and care. Anything less makes us villainous in our own right.”
There were audible gasps, and angry murmuring.
“I was born on the isle. As was my friends and many others. We didn’t comit any crimes and yet were just as dismissed. I’m here because Ben thought to change things, because he knew it was wrong. Today we follow through. Yes there will inevitably be teething issues. But if we let this continue, than we’ve failed ourselves.” Mal looked to his friends. “I want to invite the VK’s. Evie, Jay, Carlos, Freddie, CJ and Uma up here.”
Mal smiled as through the crowd they made their way up onto the platform. They surrounded him and it felt good. He turned back to them, “Is this the right choice?”
“Yes” Uma said decisively.
“None of us grew up easily” Freddie pointed out. “But here are so many people there who are innocent. They deserve better, they deserve someone to advocate for them.”
“Freddie’s right” Evie agreed.
Mal smiled at Ben warmly, “I can’t keep doing that. I’m getting a cramp” Mal puffed.
Ben chortled, “You know for my proposal I was this close to reprising my song about you from the Tourney game.”
Mal’s eyes narrowed, “As long as it wasn’t be our guest.”
“It wasn’t that bad” Ben insisted.
“It was bad. Trust me” Mal grinned. “And I’m rotten.”
Ben scoffed, “Rotten hardly, if anything you’re getting very very fat” he muttered pressing his face against Mal. The words whispering gently into his ear. Ben pressing himself against Mal.
“Mhmm” Mal said letting his head fall back and pressing back against Ben.
Chapter 5
❧
Mal groaned his feet were swollen and aching. He had begun wearing shoes with his laces untied they were that swollen. Ben rubbed Mal’s stomach appreciatively the plump belly becoming taut and defined as a baby grew prominently inside him. “Let’s get you off your feet” Ben said offering Mal his arm.
Mal nodded as he was led over to Ben’s throne. Mal groaned with relief rubbing his stomach. “This baby is making me so fat” Mal moaned.
Ben smiled and continued rubbing Mal’s stomach fondly. “As he should. Everyone will know how adored you are” Ben teased.
“It’ll be the wedding of the century” Ben grinned, sitting on the arm of the throne which let out a creek of protest.
They watched students conversing with parents. An enormous woman with strawberry blonde hair in a blue dress slowly waddled across the grass. She had wide hips and huge thick thighs that jiggled with every pendulous step. Her ass was equally enormous and her belly seemingly reached her knees. “Who is that?” Mal hissed to Ben nodding in her direction.
“That’s Cinderella” Ben smiled.
“No!” Mal gasped.
But sure enough, “Waddles. Where’s my Baby” She called out.
“Coming Mummy” Chad called as he appeared infront of her. He was embraced against her massive body.
“That is definitely not what I expected Cinderella to look like. Grace and poise, she’s huge…”
“King Henry, likes his women fat. Chad used to be very very fat as a child you know” Ben commented off handedly.
“Ben” Mal said gripping his arm. “Please tell me photos exist? Please!”
Ben chuckled his belly wobbling. “There is certainly some at home.” He said suppressing his laughter as Chad dramatically flailed for breath after being let go from his mothers tight embrace.
“The Prince is looking quite round” Cinderella said nodding toward Mal and Ben.
“Mum. Mal doesn’t have a title. He hasn’t married Ben yet. Although Ben mentioned his title would be Prince Regent or something, frankly I wasn’t listening” Chad said with a shrug.
“But he is having the Kings baby?” Cinderella asked.
“Yes. The wedding is being planned for next month” Chad commented, “Mother don’t you watch the news. It’s all anyone can talk about” he huffed.
“You know I don’t” Cinderella said. “He’s looking very plump. King Ben knows how to look after his companion.”
“Mal was rail thin when he came to Auradon” Chad commented. “Ben fattened him up.”
“As he should. You can’t have a waif on the throne. Ben is such a smart boy” Cinderella smiled approvingly. “Now how are you coping after that vile girl broke your heart” she said pulling Chad back into a hug.
“I’m okay” Chad said quietly.
Cinderella frowned, “Your father is discussing a ball when you graduate.”
Chad grimaced, “No mother I know most of the girls in Auradon, it won’t end well.”
“Well then date a boy. Your exactly like your father. You think too much, a handsome plump boy who’ll love and obey you” Cinderella instructed.
Chad rolled his eyes. “I’ll consider it Mummy.”
“Of course you will. Will you take me over to Ben, I want to give him my congratulations” Cinderella encouraged. “Is there any VK’s suitable? Perhaps Mal could suggest one?”
Chad huffed, “I would never marry a VK” he insisted.
