I’m not gonna see it you can’t make me....okay I’m in #2: The New Mutants 😈

In this series of posts, the team will be talking about movies/shows that look straight crazy. It is amazing how a project can look so ludicrous, yet we as entertainment fanatics still choose to see it. In these posts we want to dissect the main reasons why we do in the end

People are flocking to super hero movies more than ever these days. There are multiple projects being released from different studios and comic book companies every year. These include movies, shows, animated projects, video games, etc.

People love the superhero genre of entertainment. One comic property has been there, however, basically since the first few years major studios started releasing comic book movies. That property would be the X-men.

X-men is a team of superheroes that has always had a major stamp in the world of Marvel comics. 20 years ago (wow), in the year 2000, Fox Studios released the first live-action X-men film. This movie came out around the same time Blade and Spider-man were getting the live-action treatment.

People were flocking to the theater to finally see the X-men, a team of mutants, get their live-action treatment. From there, we have been gifted with 13 films in the X-men universe. 3 of those films were Wolverine solo’s and another two were dedicated to the fourth-wall breaking mercenary known as Deadpool.

It’s easy to say that we have been blessed with 20 years of pretty decent movies set in the X-men universe. The only issue is that the universe that we’ve known for so long has come to the end of the road.

Fox Studios was bought by Disney in 2019, so now Disney owns the movie rights to all the X-men characters. The original universe we’ve known for so long is all over now. It does seem like the right time though.

Ever since actors like Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart left the franchise it just seems the series of movies lost its luster. Less people care about this universe considering they know it’s over and it doesn’t matter in the long run.

I will also admit that the last installment in the X-Men universe (Dark Phoenix, 2019) did not come off as the most compelling film in the series. Now while most people stopped caring before Dark Phoenix and definitely don’t care now, that’s not the case with everyone.

The original universe is done so why should I care so much about seeing movies that are still connected to it? The main reason why is because I love comic book movies and I will honestly always give them attention. So, I’m basically saying I can’t stay away.

The last movie set in the original X-men universe created by Fox Studios is The New Mutants, set to release on April 3rd. This film was supposed to release TWO years ago! Thanks to reshoots, delays and the buying of Fox Studios by Disney, this movie has been shelved for too long.

Disney however was generous enough to finally release the movie out into the public for us to see. While it seems too late for most people, considering Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe will soon adapt the X-men, it’s not too late for this guy. And I hope it’s not too late for a lot of people!

I finally get to see The New Mutants and see what this new addition could’ve done for the old X-men universe. This is going to be a horror-themed movie set in a superhero universe. That concept sounds interesting and thrilling, and it will be cool to see how it works. I have pretty good hopes for it, so I’m excited to see this movie.

Yes I’m very excited for the Mutants to show up in the MCU, but I’m more than happy to see the final product of a once thriving cinematic universe. I’m hoping you guys are excited to see it too. So, if you like horror and superhero’s, then I’d go check this one out! 👻
