It's Time To Soar
Recently I came across a quote that stated simply; “you are only confined by the walls you build yourself”. Afterwards I started asking myself; what has or still is really holding me back in life? In my moments of soul searching I have come to realize that there really was a lot of truth to this quote and it really is amazing how many obstacles or walls we can erect in our lives. Sometimes these monoliths of self-doubt and dream killers are unintentional, but more times than not, actions and even words we speak with full knowledge of the consequences can have lifelong and very devastating results.
Fortunately, not only do we have the power to destroy, we are also empowered with the abilities to create and change course for the better. Just as the Phoenix in ancient Greek mythology rose from the ashes of its former self and was reborn to fly to greater heights than ever, we too can rise from all that has held us back, to soar to greater heights than any of us ever thought possible.
As a child, I was prone to climb trees and I’m very fortunate I never fell and broke something really bad. However, the one thing I remember was the exhilaration of finally grabbing ahold of that limb that seemed out of reach on a previous climb. There was nothing different about me physically from one climb to another; I know I did not suddenly grow an additional length in my arms overnight. The difference was, I reached a little farther and yes, took a little more risk on the second climb as opposed to the previous one.
All it takes to be a success are dreams, goals, and a sincere desire to push harder than ever, and rise up from whatever has held you back or caused you to doubt your abilities. Nobody has the ability to keep you from being a success but yourself, no matter what you have been told in the past. Stretch your arms a little higher, challenge yourself to attain more knowledge, seek wisdom from those whom you trust and keep telling yourself that now it is my time to soar and nothing is going to keep me from being successful! Remember that limb you failed to reach yesterday is no longer out of reach if you really want to climb higher.
