Things Only God Can Do

Reading: 1 Kings Chapter 17-Elisha finds a widow, and tells her he's supposed to get bread from her. She told him she didn't have enough oil and flour. He told her that her flour and oil will not run out.

Reading: Luke Chapter 5-Jesus told the fishermen to cast their nets one more time, and the nets couldn't contain all the fish that they caught.

-God rewards our obedience.

-We give because He commanded us to.

-You were created by God for one purpose: to have a love relationship with God.

-God takes the initiative.

-The greatest commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, body, and soul.

-The second greatest commandment is to love your neighbor as yourself.

-To be loved by God is the greatest thing.

-God did pursue us, so we would come into a love relationship with Him. A very real, personal, and practical one.

-God is a God who wants to know us. He is concerned with all areas of our lives.

-God is a loving God, who cares for everyone, even those who don't serve Him.

-God's heart's desire is to see a broken world redeemed by Jesus' blood.

-When you're in a love relationship with God, you want to be where His presence is.

-The purpose of God, is to do something only God can do.

-God can heal you.

-God wants to give us God-sized assignments.

What I got out of today's service:

God can heal anything broken in our lives. He knows the desires of our hearts, and He knows what we need, and will deliver it in His own time. He is a just, loving God who wants us to know Him personally, and to accept His son, Jesus Christ. We only have to do His will, and honor Him with everything we are.
