Albus Potter and the Gargantuan Tomorrow

I.

OF DAYS TO COME

Albus Potter thought he was dreaming. He had to be, there was no other practical explanation.

Albus stood staring at himself in a mirror, he wasn’t looking at himself as he did now. A scrawny sixteen year old with messy dark hair. Instead what stared back and copied his movements was something else.

He was older, his face was a little rounder, cheeks plumper with jowls. He had crows feet, and smile lines, even his hairline had begun receding. The biggest change frankly the most obvious difference was his stomach, round and engorged bulging out from his middle and down to his crotch. A big swollen middle, it felt soft to the touch. Plump and yet beneath it was a firmness.

Albus pressed his hands against it. There was movement, he could see it. But not feel it. Was he pregnant? He also noticed as he turned his arse was enormous. Honestly, what had happened for him to become that...big. Even if he was possibly pregnant.

Albus shook his head. This was a dream, it wasn’t real. It isn’t true. “Mum?” A small young voice asked. Albus looked down and saw a boy no older six years old, with golden blonde hair, and green eyes peering up at him. He had his jawline, and ears of all things, while having a nose and lips that seemed so familiar.

“Yes Damien?” Albus voice answered, although he didn’t remember thinking let alone saying those words.

“Tori put her stickers all over my broom” Damiens lip pouted.

“Just peel them off” Albus dismissed.

“They won’t come off!” Damien whined holding up a small toy broom. Sure enough glittery stickers of flowers that shimmered and swirled were stuck all over it. “She wrecked it Mum!”

“Tori is young. Let me grab my wand and we’ll see what we can do” Albus smiled and messed up his hair playfully.

Two children. Another on the way. Right. Right. This was weird. Dreams aren’t usually this...simple. He waddled after the boy, who seemed a little irritated at how slow Albus was. Leaving the bedroom. They were in a cottage, sort of, stairs leading upstairs. Albus was reminded of the burrow except slightly better constructed, although messier. Baby clothes, toys, and children’s art work were scatted around. An open paint set was open on a table.

Albus heard the sound of slapping wet liquid, followed by a innocent voice humming. “Pretty Colours. Pretty pretty colours”

Albus let out a long suffering sigh. “Fabian Charles Malfoy. You had better be doing that on paper?” Albus growled.

A head popped up from behind the settee. Neat brown hair and a familiar face peered back at him. It was like Scorpius with brown hair and Albus lips and eyes. He held up two paint covered hands. “The wall needed pretty colours!” He grinned proudly. “See”

Albus brain stopped, ‘Malfoy? Scorpius kids? But they looked like. Oh. But means. No...’ Albus could barely comprehend this. It had to be a dream right. Scorpius was straight, his constant pining after Rose made that clear.

“Mum! What about my broom?” Damien groaned.

“In a moment” Albus said waddling around the couch. Sure enough a picture of smeared colours and hand prints was all over one wall. “Go wash your hands” Albus pointed to the kitchen.

“Mum!” Damien said loosing patience.

“Hmm?” Albus turned back to the other boy.

“My broom” Damien said gritting his teeth.

“Right yes. Sorry. My brain is all over the place” Albus apologised. Waddling toward the kitchen, without hesitating his wand was retrieved from a draw. Damien handed over the toy broom. He waved it and the stickers on the room burned away and fell off in clumps of ash.

“Thanks Mum!”

The back door creaked and opened. “Malfoys I’m home” Scorpius voice called out. It sounded deeper, more masculine if that was even possible.

Albus turned and jerked suddenly almost falling backwards off the bench he was seated on.

“Umm. Albus? You okay?” Scorpius squinted at him.

Albus did a double take he was in the great hall. “Yeah. Yeah. Just in my own world” He muttered confused. “Just thinking about our OWL’s”

“You know we have months to study, and if you used my revision timetable”

“The one that you and Rose made and colour coded” Albus replied grimacing. Scorpius and Rose Granger-Weasley were the worst kind of couple, in each other’s spaces, often kissing and having opinions on everything.

“We’re just serious about our studies. Aren’t we Scorpy” Rose smiled playfully at Scorpius.

Albus rolled his eyes. “And each other” he muttered uncertain to what exactly his best friend saw in Rose. “I think I’m just going to have an early night” Albus muttered standing up.

“Night Al” Rose smiled.

“Goodnight” Albus muttered walking away. He shook his head, that was a daydream. Absolutely nothing. Nothing.

Albus felt his eyes finally close, and when he opened them. He was in a bedroom. A little girl around seven lay in bed. She had blonde hair although it was sweaty and sticking to her porcelain skin. “Mum...I don’t feel well” She muttered whimpered.

“I know Astoria” Albus said picking up a cloth and placing it on her Forehead.

“Can’t Magic make it go away?” She said pleadingly.

“No sweetie. Sometimes it’s good to let little bodies fight this yourself. You’ll get a little better soon” Albus insisted honestly. “You’ve has your medicine. Just try to sleep, and you’ve got a sick bucket if you need it.”

“Thanks Mummy” Astoria murmured.

Albus watched as she fell asleep, patting her forehead with a cloth.

“How is she?” Scorpius voice drifted from the doorway.

Albus turned and saw him in the doorway. Scorpius was tall, broad shouldered, a thick reddish beard that covered his chin. He was now barrel chested sporting a firm round gut. “Better than she was. She hasn’t thrown up in a while, and I’ve given her water. How the boys?”

“A little fed up with being at Dad’s. apparently he’s too strict” Scorpius grinned, it was the same cheeky grin he was used to seeing.

Albus smiled back, “oh poor them.”

“Do you want to stay in here tonight?” Scorpius asked.

“I’m certain it’s your turn” Albus grinned. “And I’ve just really tired lately. I’m worried i might have caught it off Her.”

Scorpius grinned, “Oh really?”

“Don’t. I know where your mind is. It can’t be that” Albus said rolling his eyes.

Scorpius smiled as he walked over and offered a hand to Scorpius, pulling Albus up and into his arms. “Would it be so bad?”

“Your not the one who spends every day with five kids” Albus said leaning against Scorpius shoulder.

“I used to be able to see my feet” Albus commented quietly.

“I like you all plump” Scorpius kissed his neck. “My chubby Mummy.”

Albus groaned, “if they start calling me that. Scorpius Malfoy, I’ll divorce you.”

Scorpius raised an eyebrow, “no you won’t. And you enjoy it too much to ever diet.”

Albus shuddered, “Don’t even say the D word. You sound like Mum and Dad” Albus grinned. It was nice, he could see why he was happy with Scorpius. Scorpius was really really good for him. Concerning comments that he was getting fat on purpose aside. Although that did explain why he got a boner that time when he saw that chubby fifth year prefect, in first year. That was clearly a future problem.

“You go to bed. Rest up. I’ll stay with Astoria for a bit, see if she wakes up again” Scorpius smiled honestly. “I love you so much...”

“I...”

Albus woke up before his future self got the chance to answer. He sighed, as he heard Scorpius familiar snores. Right. So he was apparently married to Scorpius in this weird reoccurring future fantasy. Was it a fantasy though. I mean the dreams they seemed years apart but, they fitted together. Same children, same husband. Same house he was sure. Albus rubbed his face and looked at Scorpius. His maybe future husband, who was too busy dating someone else. Albus felt himself wince. He didn’t want to break Scorpius and Rose, not after he’d spent years pining after her.

He lay back down staring at the ceiling. Scorpius, his best friend. I mean it made sense. But maybe. Maybe that’s why it was a fantasy, because it was too obvious. What explanation was there. He could owl his Dad, but Albus was absolutely certain that was a last resort. The dreams had to go away. Surely. Because they were just that dreams.

“God I had such an amazing date with Scorpius” Rose commented as they walked out of the Ancient Runes classroom.

“Can you please not talk about my best friend that way” Albus muttered irritably.

“He’s my Scorpy” Rose smiled. “And it annoys you, which is always a plus”

Albus stared at the ceiling, hoping it would collapse.

“Are you okay? You’ve seemed distracted lately?” Rose asked honestly.

“I’m fine. Seriously. You don’t need to worry” Albus reassured. Or he hoped he had. He’d had four more dreams. Birthdays, a Christmas, childbirth which frankly going through that seemed horrifying. I mean he couldn’t feel the pain. But just...that was a nightmare.

“Albus?” Rose said crossing her arms.

“I just haven’t been sleeping well lately” Albus muttered. “Dreams and stuff.”

“There’s my Sweet Rose” Scorpius grinned as he jumped down the bottom two steps. And wrapped his arms around her. “How was ancient runes?”

“Interesting. We were talking about how they were used by Ancient wizards to serve multiple uses.”

“Interesting” Scorpius nodded.

“It still confuses me why you took Divination?” Albus commented. “What did you do?”

“We were using crystal balls. Apparently I’m going to have eight children” Scorpius laughed.

Albus paled visibly.

“I told you divination is bunch of nothing” Rose laughed. “Because I won’t. And certainly no girl is going to willingly have nine Children.”

“Yeah...” Albus muttered horrified. “No girl.”

“Maybe I’ll swap. So I can spend more classes with you” Scorpius nudged.

“Your intolerable” Rose grinned.

“I’m gonna catch you up...” Albus said shifting his weight on the balls of his feet.

“Right? You sure?” Scorpius asked dropping his arms from around Rose. “I know I’ve been close with Rose. But your still my best friend.”

“I know. Trust me, I know” Albus smiled. “I’ll see you at Dinner.”

“Okay. You know we can always talk right?” Scorpius insisted his hands on Albus shoulders.

“I know idiot” Albus chuckled. “And you never know. Maybe there is someone out there willing to have nine of your children” he commented wryly.

Scorpius laughed. “I think I’ll comprise.”

Albus forced a smile and walked away. Everything was converging. Or it was a hell of a lot of coincidences.

And knowing his families luck, he didn’t trust coincidences.

II.

EVERYTHING GETS COMPLICATED

Albus sat down at the Slytherin table, he picked up an empty plate and started piling on food. “Hungry?” Scorpius grinned.

“Yeah a bit” Albus said sitting down looking at the pasta and steak and potatoes.

“You’ll get fat. If you eat like that” Scorpius grinned.

“Maybe I will” Albus said shoving a mouthful of pasta in. “Who cares? It’s my body?”

Scorpius stared at him differently. “Albus. About Rose..I”

He stopped and sniffed, static in the air. It was like that time Grandad Weasley had taken them to a muggle carnival and they’d rode the dodgems. But just as quickly Albus felt everything become cold and his hair stood up on the back of his neck and just for a second everything slowed. A brief pulse of bright light out the corner of his eyes. The light dimmed and everything moved again, the cockoughphany of sound rushing back in like the tide. Standing there were three people. Teenagers. In the centre of the great hall.

“Ha! I told you Damien! Look I got it to work”

“Fuck! It shouldn’t work Fabian. It’s a time turner. A broken one, and you’ve taken us to Merlin knows where!”

“Guys! Everyone is staring” A girl with perfect blonde hair in two neat plaits said prodding her brothers firmly.

“Obviously we just showed up in the middle of the great hall” The tallest insisted.

It took Albus a second and he realised that he recognised them. They were older than the dreams. But it was them. His kids, and Scorpius kids. Damien, Fabian and Astoria.

“If anyone asks and we’re back when everyone was blood obsessed. We’re pure bloods” Damien hissed looking around concerned.

“Oh no. We’re not that far back. Mum and Dad are over there” Astoria commented she waved at Albus. Albus waved back and she looked startled.

Damien did a double take and met Albus eyes. They widened in horror. “Oh we are so dead...”

Albus stood up slowly.

“Albus?” Scorpius looking at him confused.

“Damien? Fabian? Tori?” Albus gulped.

“Errr. How does Mum know our names” Damien muttered quietly. “We don’t exist yet.”

“I don’t know” Fabian replied equally concerned.

Albus moved around the table, and saw Professor McGonagall get up calmly. “Albus. Do you know these students?”

“Uhhh. They’re my cousins. From my Muggle Uncle’s side” Albus lied. It was a bad lie, but what else was he meant to say.

“Albus. I know full well Dudley Dursley has not had any magical children” Professor McGonagall commented. “Would you care to explain yourselves?”

“Uhh” Damien hesitated.

“Oh we’re just trying this new erm Invisibility cloak, Professor” Astoria smiled sweetly.

“Albus” Professor McGonagall commented. “I would like an actual explanation.”

Albus winced, especially as everyone was staring at him. He could see James two tables over grinning like a loon. “Your not going to like it.”

Professor McGonagall sighed. “Try me.”

“They’re my children from the future. Damien Harry Potter, Fabian Charles Potter and Astoria Ginerva Potter” Albus said gesturing.

“Your right. I definitely don’t like it” Professor McGonagall agreed. “I should have retired,” she sighed and collected herself. “My office Albus, I’m going to call your parents. And your grandparents...”

Professor McGonagall lead the four out. Scorpius stood confused staring after them. Confused and frustrated how Albus had left him out of the commotion.

“So. Mum...how do you know who we are” Damien leaned over as they all sat in chairs.

“I’ve had dreams glimpses I suppose of you all growing up. Over the last couple of weeks” Albus commented. “Am I really that fat?”

“Huge” Fabian nodded.

“Humongous” Damien admitted.

“Dad likes you fat. I’m certain it’s on purpose” Astoria commented honestly.

“Well. I suppose that’s something” Albus muttered. “Oh. Where’s the time turner by the way.”

“We need it to get home” Damien insisted hesitating.

“Well. It’s broken anyway” Fabian said pulling out the time turner. It was cracked down the centre the gold orb broken.

“What?” Astoria and Damien said staring at Fabian in horror.

The fireplace erupted as Ginny Potter slid out. She looked at Albus and then the three other teenagers. “Minerva? What’s going on? Who are they? Oh Merlin is that the time turner.”

“Technically it’s not the current time turner. It’s a future version of the time turner we used” Albus corrected.

“Albus” Ginny said growling, and he straightened.

“Well Mum. These....are my children. Who have come back from the future” Albus muttered.

“You’ve got to be kidding me. Well who’s the other parent.”

“Our Dad is..” Fabian started

“Not relevant!” Albus said cutting him off quickly.

Ginny squinted, and walked over to beside Professor McGonagall. “You see it don’t you.”

“Of course.”

“Mum!” Albus said cupping his face in horror. “He’s dating someone else.”

“What?!?!” The three teenagers said in horror. “You never said that.”

“It’s not relevant. You three are not supposed to be here.”

The fireplace erupted and Harry Potter tumbled out, followed by Hermione. “Minerva what’s going on?” Harry asked. Before looking at the three newcomers.

“Well it appears your future grandchildren, managed to fix the time turner and have come back in time. And are stuck here” Professor McGonagall.

“Grandchildren?” Harry chuckled. Then saw Albus wincing face and Ginnys look. “Really?”

“Yeah.”

“How did you manage to fix the time turner?” Hermione asked examining it. “We destroyed it.”

“Well” Fabian said. “Dad keeps it in his office as a souvenir I think, but I realised that being a time sensitive object if I transfigured it to a previous state. It would be workable. But once we used it broke.”

Hermione stared. “That is impressive. Risky and the fact your not dead is impressive. Why on earth do you keep this is your office Albus” Hermione said holding the time turner.

“No no. Dad’s office. That’s Mum” Astoria commented.

“Mum?” Harry said raising an eyebrow. “So Albus. Your......”

“Later” Ginny whispered.

“Well we ought to get you home before you disrupt the timeline” Hermione commented.

“I don’t exactly see any of us with a spare time turner” Hermione commented.

“Perhaps for now. They stay here, we’ll speak to Draco. Ask if he perhaps knows how to source or get another made. Merlin help us” Hermione muttered.

“Otherwise we’ll be stuck here” Damien stared in horror. “Fabian this is your fucking fault!” He swore irritably.

“Language Damien” Albus answered instinctively. Ginny and Harry smirked in amusement at one another.

Damien’s head dipped. “Right. Sorry Mum.”

“I’m your favourite” Fabian hissed grinning.

“Don’t lie. He loves us equally” Astoria corrected.

“That’s probably not true” Albus admitted. “How many of you are there?” He remembered six in the dream.

“Eight. Ninth of the way” Fabian smiled. “Uncle James said you and Dad are like Rabbits.”

“Eight children” Ginny mused. “I don’t know if I should be impressed or horrified.”

“I’m horrified. I get fat” Albus muttered rubbing his forehead.

Harry chuckled then frowned. “Shouldn’t laugh. Now erm what are your names. We’ll need a cover story..”

“Let’s just say they’re Dudley’s children” Ginny commented.

“Perhaps something more believable” Professor McGonagall suggested calmly.

“Perhaps cousins from America. We’ll lie and say they’re Charlie’s children” Hermione suggested.

“Or. We just tell the truth. People already know that Sc...myself and someone else travelled to the past” Albus mused. “And their my Babies..”

“Mum. We’re not your....” Damien caught himself. “This is weird...”

“So we’re just not talking about Dad are we...” Fabian asked firmly.

“He doesn’t need to know” Albus said firmly.

“Albus” Ginny reasoned.

“Mum. It’s my choice. These are my children, he doesn’t need to know. Okay...”

“Alright. Well. I just think you should talk about it. Especially because he’s going to have nine children with you.”

“Draco is going to have a fit” Harry commented grinning under his breath.

“Because he’s dating someone else. And I don’t want to get my hopes up!” Albus blurred loudly. He stood up, “I think I’m going to bed. I need a lie down...” He muttered. Going to the door.

“Albus” Harry said firmly. Albus ignored him. The three teenagers looked at one another.

“We’ll talk to him” Damien said. “It’s good to see you Grandma and Grandad.”

“That’s definitely weird..” Ginny muttered.

“I’ll have beds set up in the Slytherin dorms? Spare clothes as well” Professor McGonagall warned.

“Thankyou Professor” Astoria smiled.

“Mum wait” Damien called rushing after Albus.

Fabian sighed. “I suppose if you can’t find a time turner. Perhaps someway to preserve us for a period of time until the future becomes the present?” He commented. “Otherwise if we could get a time turner that doesn’t rubber band back, we could just keep making jumps forward.”

“We’ll look into it” Hermione said as Fabian went after his siblings.

“Well...” Professor McGonagall sighed.

“Yes. Ron will be pleased” Hermione commented wryly.

“Why?” Ginny squinted.

“He’s horrified at the thought of Rose dating Scorpius” Hermione commented chucking.

“Instead he marries Albus and has eight children. I never really pegged Albus as the family type” Harry commented.

“But Scorpius and Albus?”

“That doesn’t surprise me. If anything that seems expected” Harry admitted.

“Mum! Hold up!” Damien called out.

Albus stood at the bottom of the stairs. Damien almost collided with him. Damien cuddled him enthusiastically. “I’m sorry about Dad...”

“It’s not your fault. At all. Trust me..” Albus sighed. “It’s just a lot.”

“If it makes you feel better. I can tell you when I come along” Damien grinned.

Albus chuckled, “I’m tempted but I don’t want to know when I start becoming fat.”

“He loves you. Dad does, adores you completely” Damien commented.

“But that’s in the future though. Not now, now we’re just best friends. And I have to watch him make love sick eyes at someone else” Albus muttered the hurt difficult to hide.

Damien hugged him tighter. Albus sighed and patted his back.

“I want to hug mum!” Astoria said cuddling Albus, and then Fabian joined.

Albus smiled. It was nice knowing one day he’d have this, with Scorpius. “Alright let’s go back to the Slytherin Dorm.”

“Are we all going to share a dorm?” Fabian questioned.

“Uh. Probably not. I’m sure the head boy will figure it out.”

“But I thought Dad wasn’t going to know about us?” Damien frowned.

“We’ll say your my children. He’ll believe that. Just don’t mention the five other siblings..bit” Albus insisted. They walked down the stairs away from them Administration wing. Albus felt his stomach shrivel, at the bottom of the stairs. Was Scorpius, Lily, James, Rose, Hugo and Freddie, and a few other nosy Gryffindor.

“Shouldn’t you all be in bed” Damien said crossing his arms. “As prefects your hardly setting a good example” Damien said firmly.

Scorpius and Rose blinked at Damien. “Excuse me. We’re waiting for Albus” Rose replied curtly.

“Well he doesn’t need you waiting for him” Astoria agreed crossing her arms, her white blond hair falling back loosely. Standing in front of Albus defensively.

“Alright Blondie. What’s it matter to you” James answered. “Or does popping out of nowhere make you experts.”

“Head boy. Prefect and giant nerd” Astoria commented pointing to Damien and Fabian.

“I am not” Fabian frowned.

“You are a giant nerd. But that’s your charm. I think” Damien muttered.

“I’m not hearing any explanations. Just a whole of Slytherins talking and no explanations” James said drawing his wand.

“I’m a Slytherin” Scorpius frowned.

“We tolerate you. Because your dating Rose” James answered briskly.

The three children looked at each other. “Tori. Stay behind us, we know your not a strong a dueller as us” Fabian said pulling. Astoria back.

“I can..”

“No one is dueling anyone” Albus cut in. “Kids...”

Fabian and Damien put their hands down.

“Al. Who’s kids are they” Lily asked, starting to realise. “Because they look a lot..like...”

“They are my Kids. From the Future. Damien, Fabian and Errr...Tori” Albus said with a proud smile. “My children.”

Everyone blinked dumbfounded. “Someone had sex with you three times?” James sniggered. “They must be dumb.”

“No one asked you Uncle James” Damien said folding his arms firmly.

“Let’s go Mum..” Fabian said quietly.

“Mum” Freddie sniggered nudging James.

Albus felt his eyes well up, and felt Astoria cuddle up to him tightly. “Come on....” she said gently. She was shorter than him, but he was certain she was his age.

“Yeah” Albus sniffed and rubbed her back.

“Albus?” Rose frowned.

Damien and Fabian fell into step with Albus. Astoria protectively cuddling Albus.

“I don’t understand” Scorpius muttered to Rose.

“There’s a lot, I don’t understand” Rose agreed. “You should go after him..”

“Why am I the one who has too..” Scorpius asked.

“Because you share a dorm with him” James asked.

“No but...they seem familiar” Scorpius muttered.

“Yeah. Because they look like Albus. Except their blonde...” Lily commented glancing at Scorpius. No one noticed her comment, except Hugo.

“Oh yeah....” Hugo said eyes widening.

III.

GETTING ON WITH IT.

Albus probably had the most peaceful nights sleep he’d had in ages. No flash forward Dreams, an actual peaceful sleep. He sighed and rubbed his eyes, Scorpius was sleeping, his future husband. Maybe.

He wouldn’t exactly say he was suprised that Scorpius was the one. It made sense, which was annoying. He got dressed and made his way down to the fireplace. Astoria was standing warming her butt. The same way he did, he smiled as he joined her. “How did you sleep?” He asked.

“Alright. It was strange sleeping in what is normally my dorm except having none of my stuff” Astoria admitted. “I had to borrow another girls hairbrush, and I have no makeup. So I had to scrounge that” She sighed.

“You wear makeup. Your a bit young...”

Astoria raised an eyebrow at him. “Mum. All girls do.”

“You. Don’t have a boyfriend or girlfriend do you?” Albus asked.

“I wouldn’t tell you if I did. Damien does, you think he’s a tosser” Astoria grinned.

“Oof. He has to be very interesting for me to dislike him” Albus smiled.

“He has a mullet. Which he thinks is cool” Astoria grimaced.

“Definitely a tosser. Future me is wise” Albus grinned.

“Morning. Are you coming to breakfast Albus?” Scorpius asked, after walking up from the dorms.

“Yeah in a minute” Albus commented. “What about Fabian?”

“Err...no ones sure” Astoria admitted honestly. “He’s pretty quiet about that.”

Scorpius was watching them curiously. “Albus...are you coming..”

“Go ahead. I’ll catch up” Albus reassured. Scorpius squinted uncertain at Astoria.

She turned and crossed her arms. “It’s rude to stare Scorpius”

Scorpius blinked, “Right. Yeah” and left.

“Shouldn’t I tell you off. For talking back to him.”

“Eh. He doesn’t know who I am” Astoria shrugged. “And It’s kind of fun Mum.”

Damien and Fabian appeared up the stairs. Tired and bleary eyed, both yawning.

“Morning” Albus smiled.

“Morning Mum” Damien and Fabian replied instinctively. A first year did a double take confused at them.

Albus smirked, “I don’t know what you’ll be doing class wise. But you can join us for breakfast.”

“Oh yeah. School” Astoria grimaced.

“I think it’ll be interesting. Some of your teachers are legendary” Fabian said his tiredness disappearing.

It was Albus turn to grimace, as the quartet headed out toward the great hall. Albus made a conscious choice to sit away from Scorpius. He felt so paranoid about Scorpius finding out. Mostly out of fear that if Scorpius did find out and reject him, his children might disappear. After all he and Scorpius had written Rose out of existence. He pushed that thought down, he refused to let that happen.

Because it was the one thing carrying him through at the moment. Hope.

“Sooooooo” Lily grinned proud of herself as she sat down at the Slytherin table.

“Your at the wrong table” Albus replied.

“Anyway. Soo, have you told Scorpius? Hmm?”

“No” Albus said simply. “And they’re not his.”

“I’m not stupid Albus. This one has looks like Scorpius except for brown curly hair” Lily said gesturing to Fabian.

“I have a name Aunt Lily” Fabian said swallowing a mouthful of cornflakes.

“And that reminds me. Tell me about my future” Lily said crossing her arms.

“No. Not how that works” Damien said firmly.

“Worth a try” Lily huffed, as she got up. As Scorpius walked over, “So Albus, these are your kids?” He asked inquisitively.

“Yeah” Albus said tense.

“How do…” Scorpius began before he was cut off as Professor McGonagall walked over.

“Ah there you are. I’ll need you all up in my office. Some Experts have arrived to hopefully fix this situation” Professor McGonagall explained, the relief in her voice was clear.

Fabian looked down at his cereal and picked up the bowl and swallowed it down quickly, before burping.

“Pig” Astoria replied.

“Come on. The sooner we get home the better” Damien said getting up. Albus hesitated as he stood up, looking at his three future children. Professor McGonagall walked beside him, “Are you okay? I understand this might be a lot”

Albus was quiet for a moment as they started up a staircase. Which began to move, “Well. I’m doing my best. Is it wrong I feel attached to them?” He reflected.

“They are your children, it’s only natural” Professor McGonagall commented amused.

“Apparently I have eight children?” Albus commented amused.

“Did they tell you that?” She asked frowning.

“No. Not quite” Albus said realising he probably shouldn’t have said that out loud.

They went up to the Headmaster’s office, the spiral staircase, opening up to the large tower room.

Draco Malfoy stood proudly, peering at Albus and the three children. Harry was also seated in a chair uncertain, hands in his pockets. While two figures in grey robes, one fatter than the other, their faces looking blankly.

“Morning Grandpa and Grandad” Astoria grinned.

Draco looked momentarily wrong footed. “Quite. Perhaps we just get on with it?” Draco said firmly. “This was the time turner you used” He pointed to where it sat on Professor Mcgonagall’s desk.

“Yes” Fabian nodded. “I borrowed it from Dad’s office. Because I had a theory I wanted to try”

Draco closed his eyes and sighed. “On a highly advanced broken magical device. And you wanted to try out an adolescent theory?” Draco said clearly trying to keep his frustration in check.

“Draco” Harry said warningly. “They aren’t your children.”

“But they are allegedly our grandchildren.”

“My theory worked” Fabian muttered quietly. Albus reached out and rubbed his back gently.

“It’s still impressive” Albus said firmly. “Neither Scorpius or I could have managed it.”

Draco softened slightly, “Perhaps, what’s your name? How did you manage to fix it?”

“His name is Fabian” Albus said firmly.

“Right” Draco said frowning. Albus noticed Harry was smiling in amusement. “Fabian what was your theory?”

“Well transfiguration changes an item from one state to another. Like Beetle to Button, a live sentient animal becomes an inanimate object. And vice versa..”

“That is oversimplifying it” Professor McGonagall said defensive.

“I know. I was simplifying it” Fabian replied. “Anyway, because it’s a time sensitive object. I theorised, that it could be transfigured to a previous state. Given that it had existed in the past before it was made, after it was made and back again.”

Draco considered this and examined the broken time turner. “And it worked?”

“It got us here” Damien said like it was obvious.

“Sort of. It worked and allowed us to make the journey. But it sort of shorted out” Fabian admitted.

“How far were you attempting to travel?” Harry asked leaning forward.

“It was only a test. So only half an hour” Fabian said firmly.

“That’s certainly over shooting it” Harry commented.

“What was the spell you used?” Draco asked.

“I’ve already tried it. But nevertheless, I can do it again I suppose” Fabian said removing his wand from his robes, and waving it at the time Turner. It glowed vibrated and stopped. “I would assume being in the same period as its unbroken counterpart isn’t helping.”

“Okay. But if the one you used to rescue us, is working. Couldn’t they just use that to get back” Albus asked trying to follow.

“Not quite. Because if they used that. Where did they’re destroyed one come from?” Draco asked.

“They brought it with them.”

“Yes, and where did they get it from?”

“Oh” Albus realised.

“Exactly. I would like to avoid making things worse” Draco pointed out.

“Fabian perhaps you could assist Draco in attempting repairs. We also have two members from the Department of Mysteries. Steve Barnes and Connor Drake” Professor Mcgonagall explained. “As for Astoria and Damien. I’ll have you join classes I assume you have similar classes?”

“Astoria?” Draco said in surprise.

“I have one question?” Professor Mcgonagall asked. “How did Albus recognise you?”

Everyone looked at Albus, his face became hot and flushed. “This will sound crazy. But I have been having dreams, sort of moments of my future. Like being in the passenger seat of my own future body.”

The kids all looked startled at that.

Draco grinned in realisation. “You had a few of these?”

“Yeah” Albus smiled, “Like when Fabian painted the walls, or when Astoria was sick, Christmases or even watching myself give birth. That was weird.”

“You saw that?” Damian said curiously.

“Stones” Draco nodded.

“What?” Harry frowned.

“When you drop a stone into a lake you get ripples. When the time turner broke, it created ripples. Affecting you?”

“Shouldn’t it have also affected Scorpius?” Harry pointed out.

“Well. I suspect given that Albus presumably birthed them. That meant a stronger connection” Draco suggested.

“Your just guessing” Harry rolled his eyes.

“Yes. But it makes sense” Draco replied.

Timetables were handed to Damien and Astoria, and they all headed off to class.

“Please refrain from sharing too many details of your future” Professor Mcgonagall insisted. Albus walked down the stairs, Damien nudged Albus. “So did you really dream about us.”

“Yeah. I did” Albus confirmed. “It was nice.”

IV.

THE SCORPIUS OF IT ALL

Having an actual girlfriend was supposed to be amazing. It was supposed to be the best thing in the world. Especially as it was The Rose Granger Weasley. It made sense, or it should have.

He felt a little like the boy who had everything from the Toadstool tales. Who had all the riches he could imagine but had lost his forest friends.

Or friend. Singular, Albus. This wasn’t the first time Albus had pulled away. Although last time it had been a campaign by Harry Potter to seperate them. This time felt different, Albus wasn’t talking. He was distancing himself, and that was even before his alleged future children arrived.

Alleged being the key word. Scorpius couldn’t understand why Albus just knew they were his. It was like he was bewitched. It wouldn’t be that hard to pretend to be his future children. Secondly he would love to know who on earth their other father is. The thoughts kept plaguing his mind as he climbed the ladder up to Divination. The stench of incense stung his nose and was heavy in the air. “Take a crystal ball, we will be gazing into our futures?” Professor Tralawny said, her messy curly hair all grey and mattered with a coloured scarf tied around it.

Scorpius put his books down beside his usual spot and retrieved a glass ball from the wooden rack. He carried it carefully and placed it down on the gold plated holder that sat at the centre of the coffee table.

“Uhh. I don’t know if this will work for me?” Tori asked. Albus alleged blond daughter.

“Yes, your the girl from the unwritten future.”

“How is it unwritten? I lived it” She frowned. Which was a valid point now Scorpius considered it.

“The future is always unwritten to those in the present. Divination is about finding the clearest path” Professor Tralawney insisted. “Sit down next to Scorpius, he has a natural talent with the Crystal ball.”

Scorpius noticed her hesitating before sitting down on the cushion opposite. “Hello” Scorpius smiled at her. “I’m Scorpius, I assume you know that of course.”

She rolled her eyes, it wasn’t not unlike how Albus often did. “I know who you are” she reassured. “I’m” she stopped hesitating. “I’m Tori” she offered.

Scorpius couldn’t help himself, noticing every little thing. If she was pretending to be Albus son. She was very good at it. Professor Tralawny started with her lecture refreshing the class on what to focus on.

“So why are you a natural talent with a Crystal ball?”

“Apparently I’m going to have eight children?” Scorpius said amused. He leaned in, “it’s probably nonsense. But if gets me good grades.”

“I wouldn’t be so sure” Tori smiled knowingly.

Scorpius blinked surprised. “What?” He said staring.

“I’m from the future? You could be right…or maybe your not” She teased mysteriously.

Scorpius sighed and shook his head. “So your funny. Wizzzo”

Scorpius shook his head and put his hands over the Crystal ball. Waving it over the sphere. “It’s cloudy” he frowned squinting as the image became clearer. It took a second and then clear as day it became a image of Tori.

Scorpius rolled his eyes and leaned back. “It’s broken. It’s just showing your reflection”

“Really?” Tori said looking awkward.

“Professor?” Scorpius said raising a hand. “I think my vision is clouded today.”

Tori’s eyebrow raised higher, and Scorpius absolutely felt the same judgment he’d received from Albus on many occasions.

Professor Tralawny swept over and examined the ball. “I see a blonde girl..”

“Hi” Tori said wryly.

Professor Tralawny squinted at Tori over her thick bottle cap glasses and back at the globe. “Turn around dear. Your aura is obviously clouding it”

Tori turned away from them amused.

Scorpius tried again under Professor Tralawny tutelage, the image faded and

The cloudy ball once again showed a picture of Tori. Scorpius frowned confused

“We’ll try another Crystal” Professor Tralwany said confused.

Scorpius sat at the library a half completed essay for History of Magic. Focusing on the reasons for the Blood Curse on the Tudor family.

He flipped open another heavy leather bound tome. Rapidly flipping through in an attempt to find the reference he needed. For a ghost, Professor Bins was frustratingly specific about bibliographies.

“How’s the Essay Scorpy” Rose said wrapping her arms around him. Her breasts pressing against his back. “I’ve almost finished mine, but I need you to check it.”

“Half done. I’m getting struck trying to word my third paragraph” Scorpius said looking up and rubbing his face distracted. “I’ve been distracted.”

Rose kissed his cheek, “Albus?” She guessed. “I told you he needs to get over himself. It’s his own fault your his only friend. I’ve tried to befriend him” Rose said dismissively.

“You know that’s not fair” Scorpius replied sighing.

“What does it matter. He’s very distracted with his future children” Rose said smiling amused. “So who do you think the Dad is?”

Scorpius shrugged, he honestly did want to think about it. He couldn’t quite put his finger on it, but something about Albus dating someone rubbing him the wrong way. “I don’t care.”

“Oh come on” Rose laughed. “His daughter is blonde, so it’s obviously someone with blonde hair” Rose insisted. “And I heard from James who heard it from Fred who was talking to Damien the oldest child. Apparently he was seven siblings.”

“Albus has eight children. Can you imagine that” Rose laughed, “honestly this all has to be an elaborate prank.”

Scorpius tried to tune it out, but she wouldn’t stop. “Enough!” Scorpius snapped abrasively.

“What?” Rose said uneasy, not used to seeing Scorpius snap.

“Albus is my best friend. The fact you think all this is funny, that my best friend having a family and settling down. Is funny?” Scorpius accused.

“Well it is? It’s Albus, when has he shown interest in anyone” Rose insisted. “And now three of his future children arrive…it’s funny.”

“No it’s not Rose. Because I would have thought you would at least be supportive. I’ve tried and every opportunity he pushes me away or something comes up…I’m trying” Scorpius said frustrated. “And I’m not even family. So what’s your excuse?”

“That’s not fair. It’s Albus, we always tease him” Rose said replying annoyed.

“Yeah? And have you even offered an ounce of support about him being gay or Bi?” Scorpius pointed out. “Instead your acting like Albus future is entertainment. I thought I liked you Rose, but your making it very difficult right now” Scorpius declared as he scooped up his belongings and stormed out.

Leaving Rose standing in shock. It took her a second before she went after him. “Scorpius wait!” She begged.

“Don’t” Scorpius turning with rage. “I can’t deal with you right now. I need space. Understand?!” Scorpius said trying to keep his frustration in check.

“Okay” Rose said defensive. “I’m sorry.”

“I’m not the one you need to say that too.”

Scorpius dumped his stuff in the dorm and went out to clear his head. Intending to do a lap around The Black Lake before dinner. He was frustrated, and it was made worse by the fact he didn’t even have the words to say it.

Cowardice and fear wrapped into one. Albus was my best friend, he had even me on my first day of school. Deciding that Scorpius Malfoy was okay to be friends with. It was the biggest gratification, the reassurance that his last name didn’t mean anything to the Son of Harry James Potter.

He was aware he’d been perhaps a bit cruel to Rose. But she’d just been annoying him, her constant jokes at Albus expense. It wasn’t fair.

“Can I join you?” A voice asked. Scorpius turned and saw the oldest of Albus children smiling at him. “Or not you look like your in a mood.”

Scorpius sighed. “It’s been a long few days.”

“You have no idea. I’m Damien” he replied.

“Just a first name?” Scorpius said raising an eyebrow.

“Well everyone is desperate to know who my Dad is, and the last name will give the game away” Damien grinned it reminded him of his Dad’s rare smile.

Scorpius disloged that thought from his head. “So do you think you’ll be able to get home?”

“I hope so. But Fabian can be brilliant, stupid and stubborn and not really considering our feelings. But he can be brilliant” Damien considered. “And this whole experience is interesting. Seeing Mum and Dad’s experience at school has been really interesting.”

“So your Dad is here?” Scorpius said intrigued and then stopped. “I’m not doing that. I yelled at Rose for doing it. I refuse to do the same thing.”

“You yelled at Rose?” Damien said calmly watching Scorpius interested as they walked.

“My girlfriend. Albus cousin, you probably knew that however?”

“I did. Didn’t know she was your girlfriend?” Damien said with a curious look on his face.

Scorpius found it rather unnerving. “Yeah. Been dating since Valentine’s Day. I asked her out..she finally said yes” Scorpius wanted to smile, that memory usually did. But it felt tainted by their argument earlier.

“That explains a few things” Damien muttered to himself. “So you like her then?”

Scorpius paused before finally answering “yes,” after a long moment.

Damien raised an eyebrow, “so that’s a no” he smirked patting Scorpius on the back. “Don’t worry I’ve got a boyfriend at home. I’m mostly still dating him because it annoys Dad” Damien admitted.

“Do you not get along?” Scorpius wondered.

“We do. But he doesn’t like his attitude, and I get it. He’s a good kisser though” Damien said staring at the lake. “I always wonder if today will be the day I end things…”

“Break up you mean?” Scorpius said concern peaking.

“Yeah. I’m not Suicidal don’t worry” Damien said. “I just understand how you feel. Trying to figure out if it’s worth listening to your instincts, or just trying to salvage what you’ve got so far.”

“I wanted Rose for so long and now I’m with her it’s just” Scorpius sighed and looked at his shoes. “I don’t even want to think the truth. I know it. But it’s easier to remain oblivious” he muttered.

“Isn’t it better to live honestly?” Damien pointed out.

Scorpius shook his head, “I still don’t understand why your involving yourselves. I worry about how your affecting Albus? What if this causes you to be unwritten?”

Damien shrugged. “Hope? Otherwise we’re stuck here” he said simply.

“But I understand your fear. This isn’t that long after the whole Delphi thing” Damien said. “Your right not to trust me” Damien reassured, “but I’m not here to be an enemy for you.”

Scorpius crossed his arms, “but clearly you don’t want me and Albus to be friends then?”

“You all have been keeping me away from him?” Scorpius realised. “That’s what it is isn’t? That’s why your here? To keep us apart?” Scorpius glaring. “Well I know your wrong!” Scorpius said determined storming off toward the castle.

Damien stood their silent. “And it was going so well. You absolutely got the wrong end of the stick there Dad..” Damien sighed and went after him, at a distance.

V.

FUTURE DRAMA

Fabian looked glum, as he walked down from the headmasters office. Rubbing his face tiredly.

“We’ll get you some food, and then have a rest. We’ll figure out a Plan B” Albus reassured.

“I can’t believe I failed” Fabian frowned. “I trapped us here. It’s my fault.”

“Your doing better than me. You haven’t accidentally brought back Voldemort yet” Albus grinned. “Come on..”

Fabian nodded, but he seemed out of it. The two Department of Mystery employees trailing slowly behind them. One nodded at the other, “It’s almost time.”

“Albus!” Scorpius yelled accusingly. As he walked up in a stride. “We need to talk.”

“Later” Albus said brushing him off.

“No now” Scorpius said getting in Albus way purposely.

“I’m busy Scorpius” Albus said firmly. “We can talk later. It can’t be that important?”

“No it’s very important” Scorpius insisted.

Albus sighed and crossed his arms. “Go on?”

Scorpius looked cautiously at Fabian. “Not with him here”

“Scorpius. You can say it in front of him and me. Or not at all” Albus replied.

“You know what they’re doing right? They’re keeping us apart?” Scorpius said firmly. “I wanted to trust you. But I just can’t, I don’t think they’re your children.”

“Scorpius they are my children. Trust me.”

“How can I? How do you even know? You don’t even know who the father is.”

“Of course I know who their father is” Albus laughed.

There was a sudden gasp, and Scorpius realised he’d drawn a crowd. Astoria and Damien stood there on the edge, and Fabian backed away. “You know?” Scorpius frowning.

“Of course I know. But if we’re going to talk about being a shitty friend. Let’s talk about you and your wonderful girlfriend of yours” Albus said grimacing. “Bet you enjoy bitching about me behind my back. Hmm? Look at Albus what a failure!” Albus said animated.

“That’s not fair” Scorpius said quietly.

“No it’s not” Albus sneered. “Because I thought I knew you better than that!”

“I wasn’t aware I was dating you?” Scorpius countered. “That my dating life needed your constant presence.”

“See this is why I’m glad my children are here. Because I don’t have to deal with you!” Albus snapped.

“We need to do something” Damien said to Astoria.

“What did you say to him?” Astoria hissed.

“See they’re even talking about me now!” Scorpius hissed shooting the trio a poisonous look.

“Well you are making a scene” Albus said shaking his head. “But if you want to know why I know they’re mine.” He moved closer, “I had dreams, sort of premonitions before their arrival.”

Scorpius scoffed, “Well I now I know your bewitched. After everything with Delphi how could you be so stupid to let yourself get conned by three teenagers acting like they’re from the future!” Scorpius said shaking his head. “You can be so thick Albus. Like that whole Potter ego clouds you from actually thinking!”

“Enough!” Roared Fabian suddenly as he ran forward and shoved Scorpius away from Albus. Fabian wasn’t particularly on the strong side, so Scorpius maybe stood back a step. “Why are you being so mean to Mum!” Fabian said banging his fists against Scorpius chest. “That’s not how it’s supposed to be! You love him Dad..”

“Dad..” Scorpius stared. Everything started to make sense.

“You and Mum never fight. And i hate that you don’t get it. Why are you being so stubborn!” Fabian relentlessly banging his fists against Scorpius chest. as Scorpius stared in shock.

“Fabian enough” One of the Department of Mysteries employees said catching Fabians fists. “I understand your frustrated, but he’s so young and is yet to have so many experiences…”

Fabian looked up at the man and stared at him confused, but listening. And then he noticed as his eyes turned grey. “Dad?” Fabian questioned.

The man smiled. “How’s my little genius” he smiled.

Scorpius frowned at the man. “I don’t understand…”

“Give it another ten seconds. Or twenty.” The man grinned, after thirty seconds his face bubbled, and his body creaked and groaned as standing there was an older Scorpius. His face lined and fuller, his shoulders broader and a belly that strained the plain grey robes.

“Dad” Fabian softened. “It’s just…”

“Hey. I understand, I do. But you need to remember that you don’t exist yet and I’m just scared” The older Scorpius reassured.

Scorpius shook his head, as the crowd gapsed. Scorpius walked backwards, unable to process what he was seeing. That was him. Older he had married Albus. Those were his kids, his and Albus’s.

“I know it’s a shock” Albus voice said gently.

Scorpius turned and looking at him reassuringly was another Albus. Older softer, his face plumper and his middle soft and well padded. “Wow…hey” Scorpius rasped his throat going dry as he stared at Albus.

The older Albus grinned, “That’s a wonderful ego boost” he smiled. “So what did you think of our children?”

“I don’t really know. I haven’t really spent time with them” he admitted honestly.

Albus draped his arm around Scorpius. Scorpius held back his urge to cuddle Albus. “Don’t be too hard on me. If I remember correctly you were deeply in love with Rose…”

“Was. I think” Scorpius said looking at the older Scorpius. As he walked over to the younger Albus.

“Look at you. So beautiful as ever” Scorpius cupped Albus cheek. “It makes me want to have eight children all over again” he smiled.

Albus blushed a deep red.

“Dad. That’s really gross” Fabian said horrified. “And Mum‘a half your age.”

“No he’s not. I’m the same age right over there” the elder Scorpius grinned.

“Dad!” Damien said embracing Scorpius tightly. “Are we in trouble?”

“Oh absolutely” the older Albus insisted, walking over.

“Mum I’ve missed you” Astoria said hugging Albus enthusiastically.

Albus frowned looking at his older self. “I did get fat” he sighed.

“You had eight children” The elder Scorpius reassured.

“But I could have dieted a little bit” Albus frowned further. The elder Albus frowned and leaned over and whispered something in his younger selfs ear. “Seriously?!?”

“We have eight children. Trust me it’s worth it.”

“I watched me give birth…” Albus said uncertain.

“Oh! I’d blocked that out. Which baby was it?”

“Errr” Albus said trying to remember. “It was after them..” he gestured to his three future children.

“So? How do you intend to take us back?” Damien questioned.

“Sweetie. We’ve been watching the whole time” Albus pointed out. “We remember it from the first time around.”

“What?!?!” Damien, Fabian and Astoria gasped horrified.

“Potter we need to find those two men. I can’t believe you didn’t even bother to check their credentials” Draco said as he came down the stairs.

“I did and they were genuine. I don’t check with Hermione on everything….” Harry trailed off, as did Draco as they caught sight of their Adult children.

“Hello Dad” the elder Scorpius grinned amused.

“Merlin help us” Draco sighed rubbing his temple.

“I think we need to talk” Albus said. “Let’s go up to the office. The office, that’s weird to say without the word..”

“Now now. We don’t want to spoil our futures” Scorpius replied. “Alright. Back to your common rooms or you’ll have house points removed. Shows over” Scorpius said with the authority of someone who’d used that punishment many times.

There was a groan of protest, as the crowd dispersed.

The group headed upstairs, “manage to find our two mysterious ministry colleagues went?” Hermione asked looking up. “Oh…”

“Yes” Draco said flatly.

“I should have retired before your children started” Professor Mcgonagall sighed. “Albus, Scorpius. I would have hoped you are better parents. But clearly not..”

“Now. Now, in our defence this is all meant to happen” Scorpius smiled. “We’ve been waiting until it was time to reveal ourselves.”

Harry sighed, “Albus. Explain…”

“So this is supposed to happen, in the same way you and Hermione were supposed to free Buckbeak. My kids were supposed to find the broken timeturner, fix it and travel back and meet our past selves” Scorpius reassured.

“Couldn’t this throw your future into jeopardy?” Draco asked concerned.

“And how did you manage to get back?” Hermione squinted.

“Well this” Scorpius picked up the time turner. Isn’t the one in the department of mysteries. Or sort of isn’t. I believe the ministry of magic is attempting to duplicate this one by memory.”

All the adults who hadn’t traveled from the future turned to Hermione. “Well they haven’t been successfull.”

“Yes. Because you tried gold plating it” Scorpius laughed in amusement. “The key is a mostly pure gold alloy.”

“The ministry isn’t made of money” Hermione said shaking her head.

“Anyway. When I took…” He trailed off and looked at Albus. “Do we spoil this I can’t remember?”

Albus shrugged. “Why you assuming my memory is any better?”

“Good point” Scorpius realised. “When I took up my role as Headmaster of Hogwarts.” Professor Mcgonagall’s eyebrow raised dubiously. “I was gifted one of the prototypes, by the minister. She did have this one still on hand in the archives” Scorpius explained.

“So when the kids..” the elder Albus started.

“Borrowed. I was only testing it” Fabian clarified.

“Really not the hole you want to be digging for yourself” Albus said shooting him a look. “Anyway. When they took the broken timeturner. There was enough of a spark to send them back. We followed when we’d realised what had happened.”

“Now, Kids. You haven’t left anything in the dorms” Scorpius asked. “Because I don’t think it’ll be there in twenty years.”

Damien raised a hand. “Go on..” Scorpius reassured. He grinned and disappeared down the stairs.

“And you two need to talk I think” Albus suggested to his younger self.

The elder Scorpius placed his hands on his younger self’s shoulders. “Don’t screw this up, and never use a condom.”

“Scorpius” Albus senior snapped. “Ignore him, and wait until marriage to have children.”

“Oh he can wait” Albus nodded. “I am not getting pregnant for years. At least a decade.”

“Closer to five years, honestly” Albus corrected.

“Oh gee. I get fat in five years can’t wait” Albus replied flatly.

“You get me” Damien pointed out.

“Anyway” Professor Mcgonagall coughed. “Perhaps we could finish up.”

“Dad…young Dad” Damien corrected, “this is for you.” He said handing him a letter.

“Errr…okay” Scorpius said uncertain. “Thanks.”

“Right. Dad, it’s good to see you” Albus said hugging Harry.

“Things get quieter right?” Harry suggested.

“Sure” Albus offered wryly.

“That’s reassuring” Draco said wryly.

“Goodbye Dad. I’ll see you the long way round” Scorpius smiled hugging Draco warmly. “Right kids. We ready..”

“Oh. Make sure you make a record of the incident. And don’t destroy the working time turner” Albus warned. Scorpius began to twist the time turner, the three began to become engulfed in white light and disappeared.

“Well. At least that wrapped neatly” Hermione said straightening. “I suppose it could have been worse.”

“Yes. They were lucky” Professor Mcgonagall said looking at Albus and Scorpius.

“Wait are we going to get in trouble for this?” Albus frowned.

“No. But you will have to record your account of events” Harry commented firmly. “We’ll do that now. As to not get the two accounts confused. Hermione would you oblige in taking Albus account and I’ll take Scorpius’s.”

“I’ll supervise” Draco commented.

“So” Scorpius said sitting down on the couch. In the common room, the last few students seventh years studying furiously. Albus was sitting quietly, staring at the large windows that showed the black lake.

“Yeah” Albus nodded.

“Our son left me a letter” Scorpius said holding it up. “We could read it together?”

“Wasn’t it just for you?” Albus frowned.

“He’s our son” Scorpius reassured. “I think we share it.”

Albus nodded slowly, “I should have told you about them.”

“No. I understand why you didn’t” Scorpius reassured placing a hand on Albus leg. “So?”

“Okay” Albus consented. “Is it weird knowing where we end up?”

“No. It makes everything easier knowing I have a life, that might not always be perfect. But it’ll be ours” Scorpius reassured, “it also reassures me that I understand my feelings.”

Albus smiled, “have you broken up with Rose?”

“I have. We had an argument and she also wasn’t particularly pleased to find out that the three teenagers following you around were also mine” Scorpius said wryly. “So she might hate me now.”

“Probably for the best” Albus grinned. “So when do you get hot like your future self?”

Scorpius looked wounded, “ouch”

Albus grinned, “we should open the letter?” He pointed out.

Scorpius nodded and opened slipping out the single page of folded parchment.

“Here we go…” Scorpius began.

‘Dear Dad and probably Mum too at a guess,

Even though we didn’t intend to go back in time. Or I didn’t at least. I’ve really appreciated the opportunity to see you as teenagers.

I know you as Mum and Dad, a team and unit who love each other deeply. But being able to see you before you started dating Mum. Well it’s obvious how much you love him, even if your probably not aware of it.

But it helped me realise a few things. I have a boyfriend at home. And I thought he was the one, but seeing you struggle in your relationship with Rose. Made me realise he was my Rose. The person that seems right but in the end is wrong.

I love you both, and I know you’ll have some much love and stuff to come.

From

Damien Malfoy’

Scorpius and Albus sat for a moment silently, Scorpius reached across and put a hand on Albus thigh. “I want to do this properly.”

“Okay?” Albus squinted.

“Will you go out with me?”

“Scorpius. We share a room, your bed is a feet away from me” Albus questioned.

“And you deserve to be treated properly. Now answer the question you git.”

“Starting off real strong” Albus said sarcastically.

“Albus” Scorpius said frowning.

“Yes. Obviously, I’m just enjoying winding you up” Albus replied.

“How in merlins name do we end up married long enough to have a seventeen year old” Scorpius suggested.

“Who knows” Albus grinned, and I can’t wait to find out. Scorpius softened and let Albus cuddle up to him.

“Neither can I” Scorpius smiled back.
