How can Christians celebrate Christmas as a time of giving and cheer when the reason for their religion is because they're God had to resort to sending His son to be a living example of godliness and holiness in a world so shamefully destitute of those two things? The prophesied savior came to die an agonizing death for all of mankind and bare the weight of its sins. That was Gods plan from the very beginning. We should be ashamed that we've taken the aspect of giving and selflessness and turned into the idea of material gain.

What is celebrated more, the giving of gifts or the birth of Jesus? Do we thank God for that sacrifice? Jesus came concerning a very grave manner and was on an important mission. We turned it into a sham holiday.
