-- Maybe the inciting moment that gets Andy out on stage happens at the very beginning. One of the top acts quits and storms out in a huff. The manager has no act to fill the empty slot. Claiming that ‘the show must go on,’ he grabs Andy out of the dish room, throws a dress and wig on him and tells him to get out on stage and sing.

-- The queens are getting ready for a holiday bash where they’ll be singing holiday favorites by Garland, Streisand, as well as hits like “Santa Baby.” They’re dressing up in red and green sequins, holly branches, sexy Santa outfits, and Haute Hanukkah Couture. One of the protagonists says, “Chop, chop, ladies! Don we now our gay apparel.”


-- Is there a rivalry between older drag queens who favor impersonating the classics (Liza Minelli, Barbara Streisand, and Diana Ross) and younger queens who prefer more contemporary artists (Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, and Lana Del Ray)?
