"I'm a Christian"
I may be a Christian but I'm just like you. I'm just as human as you are.
So I should always have a smile on my face. I should always tip the waitress. I should always be polite. I should always help the poor. I should always defend my faith. I should always hold the door. I should always put others before myself. After all, life should never be about me. I should never be rude. I should never lash out in anger. I should never cheat. I should never quite. I should never curse. I should never hurt another persons feelings. When someone strikes me I should always turn the other cheek. I'm expected to be perfect and I'm a hypocrite if I make one simple mistake. Right?
I may be a Christian but I'm just like you. I'm just as human as you are. I make mistakes. I let people down. I let myself down. I have put myself before others. I am selfish at times and I'm guilty for making life about me. I don't always hold the door. I forget to tip the waitress. I have quite before. I have cussed. I have been rude. I have hurt others feelings. Sometimes I strike back. It's not always easy to defend my faith. And I don't always have a smile on my face.
The only difference between me and you is that despite all my failures I have Gods grace. I have his peace. I have his love. I have his guidance. And He's always sharpening my faith.
Being a Christian is not about being perfect. If I was perfect I would have hung on that cross. Being a Christian is very simple. It's about being with God. Everything else will fall into place.
