Billions Review

A member of the Flix406 crew watched all four seasons of the show “Billions” on Showtime. Here is the review:

“Billions” is a series created by Brian Koppelman, David Levien and Andrew Ross Sorkin. The show stars Damian Lewis, Paul Giamatti, Maggie Siff, Asia Kate Dillon, David Costabile, Toby Leonard Moore and Condola Rashad.

The series is about a hedge fund juggernaut named Bobby Axelrod. In his quest for more money than you can think of, he finds himself in constant confrontation with U.S. Attorney, Chuck Rhoades. These two men do whatever they can to win, and take anybody that is in the crossfire with them.

“Billions” is a very well written show. It does an amazing job of showing just how hedge-fund companies and their higher-up officials do business. It also shows how high authorities in the government tamper with a great amount of power.

It was very refreshing and interesting to see these two professions clash.

Greed, pride and winning are the central themes of this show. Everyone is either fighting their way towards money or justice. And they are willing to do anything to get there. The most evident example is with Rhoades wife, Wendy.

Wendy works for Axelrod at his company as a performance coach. Wendy is honestly the most important character in the show, as she serves as the middle ground most of the time for both sides. The problem for her is that Bobby and Chuck are not afraid to use her so they may win.

This show is so easy and fun to watch because it has you cheering for the bad guys in Wall Street and the corrupt parties who work for the government. And it also has you cheering against them.

Every actor or actress in this show serves a purpose and it should be noted that they all do a fantastic job. Damian Lewis and Paul Giamatti are the main characters in the show, and they never waste anytime outshining everyone else with their suburb acting.

This is an amazing show to watch and to learn from. It is a fictional show, but it does a great job teaching you that money and titles can truly run the world. And it also shows that these people who do run the world, are way more human than you think, even with a great deal of money or power.

“Billions” is truly a gem that people should watch. The 5th season will premiere this upcoming Sunday, May 3rd. The Flix406 Crew is excited for the new season, and we definitely think you should watch the first 4 seasons before the premiere! 👍🏻
