In due time it all made sense
Every daybreak
heart ache
every scrape along
ribbed cages
lost in days
faint lines
jumping alive
bidding humanity
within my swollen veins
at last molten guilted
gourds
burned holes
right down to my gut
I drowned in the apocalypse
of your return.
I've cut oceans into
skies and waved good byes
more often than I've said hello
but there was always good reason
and for that
I waited long
catching clarity
in murky ripples
unable to see myself
the bloody rage and seething pain
every subtle inkling felt in my chest
gazing out into the abyss
seedling wishes made on dying flowers, drowning in lovers
the quiet wonder
two souls asunder
falling like lightning
waiting for something else ....
I felt the thunder when you walked in to my life, scattered future in your eyes
and suddenly it all made sense.
