Sadie M. Lyle

The Reader (Poem)

She falls into a world that isn’t real

But these are not fictitious feels

Full of pain and filled with longing

She searches for a sense of belonging

A book or song in which she travels

How she does it truly baffles

And when she has to bid goodbye

It leaves her lonely through the night

She is a lost soul, a beauty to behold

A lover who sheds tears of gold

She has faced terrors on her own

But now she sits upon her throne

A dreamer filled with untold stories
