Sonic The Hedgehog

A member of the Flix406 team recently saw Sonic the Hedgehog. Here is the review:

Sonic was directed by Jeff Fowler. Starring in the movie was Jim Carrey as Doctor Eggman, James Marsden as Tom Wachowski and Ben Schwartz voicing the iconic speedster Sonic. The movie is based off the video game created by SEGA.

The movie picks up where the video games and animated shows have always left off. Sonic the Hedgehog teams up with Tom Wachowski, as they must outrun and defeat Doctor Eggman and his scientifically evil plans.

Sonic the Hedgehog has always been a fun and witty character. Whether it be in the games or animated shows, the speedster has always had a special place in the hearts of kids who grew up in the 90’s/early 2000’s. This movie stays true to the elements that made us love the character in the first place.

The movie is a fun, silly and action packed race that most people will love. It’s a joyful film that families and kids would have a great time watching.

Jim Carrey is perfectly cast as Doctor Eggman. This character allows Carrey to reach into his weird and hilarious bag of tricks that we are all used to. Ben Schwartz also did a great job voicing the lightning-quick hedgehog.

This movie was a good time. At times it was definitely corny and you could tell it was made for younger audiences with its humor. But that is the thing. Sonic is a character that should never lose its sense of heart, laughter and fun. Luckily, the film made sure those things were present, in-order to do the character justice in his live-action debut.

The Flix406 team definitely recommends you embrace the everlasting kid inside of you and give this movie a watch!
