I prefer pen and paper

In the running-relay to be a highly readable writer is my reward.

What is readability?

I first learned about this in Graphic Design School. We were discussing readable type faces, the importance of white space, en and em dashes, the ampersand and the tilde—all manner of elements characteristic of good typography.

It is a certain presentation of materials, the shape of the body, the gathering, sorting and flow of words spun together to create a tapestry picture that is easily readable and naturally attractive.

The Word Mechanic* fabricates and tailors words to the experience of the reader who is reading.

To Quantify and Qualify through the process of mechanical refinement of words for their good use in the world of How-to manuals and beyond is the reward.

A Certified Word Mechanic* makes sure it is a beautiful happy enjoyable reading experience regardless of topic or subject in order to direct the reader onwards.
