Moses entered back into Egypt with no mortal weapon to wield against his enemy. He stood in the camp of his enemies in plain sight, yet he was not alone and remained untouched. Not even pharaoh would lay a hand on him despite his massive army, personal guards and a hardened heart against God’s commandment to release the Israelites from slavery.
God kept Moses in every way. His body was untouched during the plagues that greatly crippled the entire nation of Egypt, and his soul was untouched from the hand of death when it swept through the land.
Skip to the new testament and Jesus is praying that His disciples are not taken out of the world but that they remain in the world yet kept from the evil therein. Jesus prayed this for all who shall believe on Him as well; that we would go fearlessly into the world with the truth of God in our hearts and minds and on our tongues, that God might receive praise for all that He does through us.
The covenant between God and man changed with the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus, but the promises of God remain the same. He will never leave us or forsake us as we walk through the valley of the shadow of death. His Son on the cross is proof of His love and promises to those that believe.
