I’m not gonna see it you can’t make me.....Okay I’m in #1: Fast and Furious 9 🚘

In this series of posts, the team will be talking about movies/shows that look straight crazy. It is amazing how a project can look so ludicrous, yet we as entertainment fanatics still choose to see it. In these posts we want to dissect the main reasons why we do in the end.

There is no franchise that is more action-packed and ridiculous than the Fast and Furious franchise. This is a movie series that has all the things that you want in an action movie. Explosions, fast cars, strong characters, motivated bad guys and reality-defying stunts that make you question what is real.

Last summer I saw Hobbs and Shaw. The movie had the two characters from the Fast and Furious universe, Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham). It included the same Fast and Furious formula, as expected. The stunts in this movie were even more insane than usual. If you don’t believe me watch it yourself. Not to mention this movie confirmed that super hero elements are basically present in the Fast & Furious franchise.

I knew that this movie was gonna be ridiculous from the start. I told myself that I would not cave and go watch something so unbelievable. In the end though, I did go see the movie and I was very glad that I did.

Hollywood literally needs movies every once in a while that are just straight action, comedy and heart (besides super-hero movies). The Fast and Furious franchise is one that covers those 3 elements very well. And that is why myself and so many other people continue to invest in the franchise. I honestly look forward to every time I hear Vin Diesel say “one last ride.”

This 9th installment should only up the ante even more. John Cena is playing the villain in this one. Which is awesome AND disappointing since we won’t be able to see him the whole time 🥴 John Cena vs Vin Diesel is the fight of the century. Also Han has come back from the dead which makes no sense. I’m sure it will once I see it.

Overall, the 9th movie in the Fast series looks absolutely bonkers. So bonkers, that cars are being transported from one island to another by way of a cable swinging them there. You read that right. Seriously watch the trailer.

No matter how much I tell myself these movies are too insane to watch, I stop myself real fast. The reason why is just because these cars are defying the laws of physics doesn’t mean it’s too much. It’s actually just right. Hollywood will always need movies like these and so will we as movie goers. And if you think I’m gonna miss Vin Diesel flying a car into space to take on aliens in the final movie you’re out of your mind.

Fast and Furious 9 hits theaters May 22.
