Two types of men in the world, those who are born and settled into its indoctrinations, and those who become free. There truly is nothing in between that we can become that matters.
If any number of riches could equal the cost of your soul then war and death would have the increase daily, for such a thing as a fools heart cannot be made at peace with wealth or material things, yet his heart would diligently strive to find peace in them.
So it is a gift and a great mercy that at least some men are kept from the desire of gain in this life. It is a gift and a mercy that they are born with hearts which yearn for a holy cause, who were born to know harshness and therefore the sweetness of both their humility and victory in staying the course, and fighting a fight wherein their faith is challenged, and the enemy seeks it to be removed and the man is tempted and falls into blind despair and can scarcely escape.
A man is blessed to the increase of his heart when he is made humble and gives freely.
Naturally, after society's dismantling of our gifts, after that storm that ravages our youth, we are left to fend for ourselves against waves of doubt and fury and all that pricks a heart to make it unconscious and blind to its calling of peace and hope for itself. At the awakening of each heart and mind, the poisonous snake head that it [society] is crushed.
