So I Walked Away. 01-09-17
I asked a priest about forgiveness
He said, "forgive yourself first, & you'll understand"
I walked away contemplating solitude
I asked my mother about love
& she said "love is in the eye of the beholder, hold yourself close & you'll understand"
So I walked away with my arms open
I asked an inmate about solitude
He said "solitude is but memories you hold within, create your own and you'll understand"
So I walked away shouting
I asked a patient about time
And she said "time is what you cry for when you're wasted over seconds, drink them away and you'll see"
So I held my hand to a bottle and smiled
I asked a florist about thorns
And she said "thorns are but the beauty behind the colors, touch one and you'll feel"
So I kept my hands to myself and walked away
I asked my father about innocence
And he said "innocence is but the image of the unknown, stop questioning and you'll understand"
So I questioned everything I saw
I asked a child about faith
And he said "faith is but the happiness you wake up with, wake up and you'll feel"
So I slept my days away
I asked them about the love I had
And they all said
"Take a step & With time you'll learn"
They asked me about being lost
& I said "there's a beauty in finding your way, loose yourself and you'll see"
So I walked away forgiving my words.
