Risky Text Messages

i live for the risky text messages

the first time saying

"i love you."

then throwing your phone onto the bed

waiting in agony

just waiting for it to vibrate

hesitating to go look at the response

losing all the blood from your face

feeling weak in the knees

fearfully imagining the "wrong" response

a "sorry i don't feel the same"

the "you're cool but.."

or the dreaded "awwwww"

but you put it all on the table

because knowing

is so much better

than not knowing

and it was worth the risk

because with knowledge comes pain

and although ignorance is bliss

you know that you want the truth

pumping wildly through your veins
