Social Media - An Oxymoron
Is the latest thing now to not only delete 'Friend Requests' of people whom you don't know or like the look of and then automatically mark them as 'spam'?
I ask this because I've requested a couple of people recently as Facebook friends with whom I share a mutual friend and/or live in the same area as well as. It seems as though the predominantly (young) people take one look at you, decide you're garbage and then in Facebook terms, tell you to, "Fuck off".
What's that about? I thought marking 'Friend Requests' as 'spam' was solely for those merchants who are dodgy, Catfish overseas types or those nutters who pester you consistently?
It's the same smug, indignation you get from self-obsessed, 'Too Cool For School' types who think that because you're a cripple you're not fit to be seen on their precious 'Facebook Friends List'. It is a very peculiar phenomenon. I know for a fact that if the shoe were on the other foot, or should that be the if tyre were on the other wheel, I'd NEVER refuse the friend request of a disabled person, let alone flag it up as spam. What a bizarre, insular demographic Social Media has become. It's virtually a contradiction of the concept of 'Social Networking'!
I guess some folks who come from a self-entitled persuasion can't deal with diversity and exist solely in their own little world. Fearful of anything or anyone remotely 'different' who may be able to bring a unique insight into another, alternate way of life.
It's a good thing that being judgemental works both ways because I've decided that if you refuse my hand of friendship on Social Media, you can stick my offer right up your exclusive, cosseted, generic, vain, miserable, shitty arses!
Let me clue you in.....
I'm wheely great!
Also superior in both countenance and disposition!
Learn some empathy, manners and compassion!
Oh you can't because you're hard-faced SCUM!
.....and tighter than a submarine door! 😂
