If she’d ask me

If she’d ask me, I’d tell her

that I’ve gotten more wrong than right,

If I could change the past I would,

If the end was tomorrow, tonight would be her’s,

Loving her I would never get wrong.

If she’d ask me, I’d tell her

That her eyes make my heart beat faster,

I would shoulder all her pain just so she could smile,

I can feel her near before I ever see her,

Her voice shelters me from the pain.

If she’d ask me, I’d tell her

The thought of her wakes me every morning,

Her kind heart makes me need to be a better man,

She is the reason no one else ever had a chance,

She’s not a chapter, but my conclusion.

But she does not ask me

She is not concerned with looking over my shoulder,

It’s not the road I took to her that she cares about,

She lives happy with me in this perfect moment.

But if she’d ask me, I’d tell her.
