Watched Rise of the Planet of the Apes last night and never was there a film that more aptly conveyed the treatment of the disabled community in a metaphorical sense than that one. Subjected from birth to intrusive medical and psychological examinations, being institutionalised, abused and mistreated for being 'different'. Poked, prodded and made fun of, trying to justify ones worth to those who see us merely in terms of how much we 'cost'. We need our very own 'Caesar' to harness our collective anger and revolt against the system that oppresses us!
