The Time Isn't Now
Well, well well...hellbent is the insufferable Ms May on becoming the next Iron Lady that she's decided to call a snap General Election for the UK in June. Possibly to avoid any further disruption caused by rumours of Tory election fraud...cynical? Oh yes!
My predictions? Not great I'm afraid. There simply isn't enough time to make Jezza Corbyn popular enough with the masses to make him electable. He's doomed and so is the Left. We're riding high on a tidal wave of populist Right-Wing beliefs at the moment and I can't see that changing between now and balmy June. Labour will lose cataclysmic style and the blame will be left at the door of the Labour members and our, 'out of step' Leader of the Opposition.
Ultimately, Labour as a political party will be changed beyond recognition. Socialism will be a dirty word, never to be spoken of in the hushed chambers of Westminster. They'll elect a leader who is simply a red tie away from being a Tory and never again shall we lament the wonderment of Nye Bevan and Harold Wilson. As for its genesis under Keir Hardie...forget about it!
Maybe not enough disabled people have died? Maybe not enough children have been pushed into poverty? Maybe not enough workers have lost their rights under zero contract hours? Who knows? One thing's for sure though, if the Tories regain power and Ms May becomes a legit PM, don't commit the sin of being poor...
