Who Cares?
My current Support Plan continues to hang in the balance somewhat so with that in mind I'm in the mood to reminisce.........
Here's my catalogue of useless carers since 2008 -
One claimed to have a bad back then moved to Australia
One left because her teenage daughter became pregnant
Four left to get new jobs
Two left after doing one day in the job, never to be heard from again
One claimed to have had her car nicked when she was in fact at a party
One sat in the car when she should've been working
One left because she no longer had transport
That's to add to the countless number of Agency carers I've had, plus those who came for interviews only to drop out of the job at the last minute. Not to mention the numerous supposed 'carers' who won't do nights/weekends/full moons/Shrove Tuesday's etc ;)
The rest I might add have been amazing but as you can see, getting the right personal care is an absolute minefield and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. The emphasis needs to shift back onto those with severe and complex physical/health related impairments, otherwise there will be deaths and needless suffering for those who need personal assistance for doing everyday tasks.
