Ghostwriter Privacy

Using Ghostwriter is optional and completely private.

The writing prompt feature of Ghostwriter uses a generative AI model. If you use this feature, we securely and anonymously send snippets of what you're writing to the model, so that it can give you a writing prompt that's relevant to you. The model uses these snippets and then deletes them permanently.

Your writing has never been and will never be used to train AI models.

If, and only if, you choose to use this feature, a short snippet of the document you're editing is sent to our generative model. This gives the model an idea of what kind of prompt will be useful to you. For example, if you're in the middle of writing a scene with two characters, the app can suggest a line of dialog for one of those characters.

If you choose not to use the writing prompts feature, absolutely nothing you write gets sent to third parties.
