Werdsmith

Import

Werdsmith can import .txt, .rtf, .md, .docx, some Google docs and some .pdf files.

If your documents are in a different format, you can use the original app to export them to text.

When you import a file, its contents get copied into a new Werdsmith document. Editing the new document won't make changes to the original file.

You can get supported files into the app in a number of ways:

Import button

When you start a new document, you'll see an "Import" button. This lets you import files from iCloud and other storage services like Google Drive.

AirDrop

If you have the files on your Mac, you can send them to your iOS device using AirDrop.

Importing from iCloud, Dropbox or Google Drive

You can open supported files in Werdsmith using your storage service's app on your device.

Choose the file you want to import, then choose the app's export or share option. From there, you can choose Werdsmith as the destination.

If it's the first time you're exporting to Werdsmith, you may need to go to the end of the list of suggested apps, tap the '...' button, and move Werdsmith to the top.

Email the files to yourself

You can send files to your iOS device by emailing them to yourself. In your email application, choose the option to export or open the file in another app, then choose Werdsmith.

Online editor

If you have a Werdsmith membership, you can also use our basic online editor at werdsmith.com/edit. This is convenient when you want to copy and paste several documents into Werdsmith.
