Text
The Text format lets you add rich formatting to your text. It's perfect for blog posts, journal entries, or really anything!
Any new project you add will be in Text format, unless you choose to use a different format.
Bold and Italics
You can add bold, italics and hidden notes to your text by selecting a word (or group of words) and choosing a formatting option.
Instead of confusing formatting that you can't see, we add asterisks around the highlighted words, so you can easily change the formatting as you write.
The easiest way to use the formatting buttons is to highlight a word and press "bold" or "italics". You can also type the asterisks manually.
The asterisks are hidden when you finish editing, and they aren't shown to your readers if you share your project.
This is an example of *italic text*. This is some **bold text**.
Headings and Subheadings
As you're typing, tap the menu above the keyboard and choose a style option.
Just like bold and italics, you can type these manually.
# A heading
## A subheading
Note: Make sure to add a space after the hash.
Quotes
Quotes start with a ">" at the beginning of the line. Also known as "pull-quotes", they're common in articles and blog posts.
> "Prose is architecture, not interior decoration." –Ernest Hemingway
If you send your project to a friend or you publish it to your profile, formatting will be visible to your readers too (but without the formatting characters, e.g. the asterisks).
Hidden Notes
To write a note-to-self, surround your text in curly brackets. These notes will be hidden from your readers.
I believe the Earth is flat. {Maybe research this a bit more?}
For stories and novels, we recommend you try Novel Mode.
